It always amazes me just how different horses can respond to things. Like the fact that he's standing well for it coming down over the top of his face, but not from the side on the ground is so interesting. I can't wait to see what you do with him!
So glad to see our baffalo boy again! He is doing so well, you can tell how willing he is. His turns are so much batter too. Still can’t get over how well built and pretty he is! I also still think the name Rowan or Kodiak would fit him pretty well ❤️
As a Rowan owner, and an anal retentive soul... Rowan translates to "little red one" or "little redhead." Might be kind of odd for a horse that isn't sorrel/chestnut. But again, I'm anal. Other people might not care about name meanings as much. :)
I’m glad he’ll be with you for longer than a typical 100 day makeover, because I do think you’re right about him needing more time and slower work. I think he’s going to be an incredible one though! He’s so well built and such a beautiful color, and he really has learned quickly!
Wonderful video, Sam. He is making excellent progress. I really, really like this guy :) I especially liked you mentioning that domestic horses also benefit from us hanging out with them, not always expecting something of them, but just being with them building a partnership. I also love how you describe why you are doing something and and illustrating how important it is to wait for their signs of relaxation before moving on. I think that is pretty close to what true training/horsemanship is. Thank you so much for the excellent videos :)
My father has been training mustangs for longer than I've been alive, Im getting into it , also starting a horse rescue. But i dont talk to him no more, and i need a question answered 😅, This one mustang ive been working with, will not allow me at any moment stand on either side of him, how do i get him to trust me enough to do so? I've been working with him for around an hour or two a day for the last few weeks. Still won't let me.
Use a tool as an extension of your arm, and slowly work your hand down the tool to get closer to the horse after each release if there is relaxation. Release every time there is relaxation through the whole body
But I could watch this forever. What a smart horse. And your calm energy is so much more evident than what I typically see horse trainers exhibiting.
Such a thinking, confident, steady boy. He's gonna be awesome.

He’s so smart, I love watching his sessions!
Good Boy! They must all learn that verbal reward very quickly! ❤
Beautiful horse. You're very good at what you do
The ribbon stick is brilliant!❤❤❤

Great explanations of what you are doing with him, how and why!

He has less huffing and puffing today ❤
I guess Puff the Magic Dragon can be ruled out for a name. 😂
Happy Thanksgiving and hanging out with your horses ! ❤

I think all your videos are great. Why doesn't you're friend Camila do videos any more?
I wonder when was this guy taken from the wild, since he still behaves so much like a stud
