Do not feel bad, if you're into generic sounding hiphop just like like every average youtube-producer, you still got plenty time to develop your shitty music.
Londmen I know everyone’s path is different but what should I do everyday to improve ? Should I try to reconstruct popular beats ? Finish beats back to back everyday even if they’re trash ? I’m just so lost 🥺. Like I know the type of sound I’m going for but it’s kind of difficult.
@@jamesmonto9562 Well, I would say that understanding all the elements of the genre your song belongs to + knowing how to perfect the sound you want to achieve. In the end sound is subjective, no one has the right opinion as that's what it is, an opinion. However you can learn how to create and master your sound so it sounds well designed by doing a plethera of things such as: * Watching youtube tutorials on for example "How to make beats" or "Catchy melodies". This helped me alot when I was starting out. * Always try to be a perfectionist. If something in your song sounds even slightly off-putting you should try an alternate approach to that sound or a variation so that it's pleasing to the ears. Remember: If something sounds off, it probably is (and people will notice). And finally, believe in yourself. Not in the "I'm the best and everyone is wrong if they dislike my music!" but rather try to be unconvential if you'd like, creating the same music as everyone else or using the same instruments can be so boring for people. Granted many still listen to mumble rap etc but it's always refreshing to hear a different take on a genre. Understanding music theory always helps but I'm doing pretty alright in my opinion and I don't know anything lol. Good luck man and remember, if you ever doubt yourself and give up, you've failed. But if you stay in the game and try to put out music that people will *want* to listen you can achieve great things. Peace.
I’m a melodic dubstep artist. If you’re ever interested in making a growl for some reason in your beats just as like a hard punch effect before the drop or something and you’re not as well versed with how to make growls in Serum, you can find a sound that you like and use ring mod in Effector and modulate the knobs a bit and it’ll instantly make a growl sound for you.
idk if you'll ever read this servida but ur samples and kits have done more for me than anyone else other than cymatics. But also u helped me in my music making more than any youtube videos have ever watched. thanks Simon.
Im in love with the fact how quick you can come up with melodies. Also really love your outro lmao. I watch every video of you and you helped me alot, thank you for that!
Waveshaper is like a crusher and a saturator in one plug-in. If you just change the curve, it’s a saturation plug-in. If you add different points to the curve, it’s a crusher and it will only crush certain frequencies or amounts
It's great to see a creator respond to most of the comments, like they basically all have hearts! haha Keep it up, you inspire me to get better at making beats. at the moment i suck but hopefully with practice i can get as good as you, but that wont happen for another 10 years.
I absolutely love RC 20, it does soo much more than you‘d expect and is so much fun to use. Pretty high price though for my taste, glad I waited for the half off sales that happen ever so often, would recommend everyone doing the same
I used to hate you when I didn’t want to mix my songs! Now I’ve put in abit more time, I love you and appreciate you. Thanks bro for this video bro 💪🏼 keep up the work and stay blessed!!!
6:46 Basically its a compressor that allows you to make any shape you can came up with. The "X axis" represents the volume of signal coming into the plugin, and the "Y axis" - volume of the sound that is coming out. You can basically think about it as a Dry/Wet. And the graph controls the volume of the "Out" signal based on the loudness of the sound that is coming. Initially it comes from Botfom-left corner all the way to the Top-right, which means that whatever how loud or quiet the original sound is, the signal that is coming out will have the same volume. And by changing the curve tension you just changing the ratio in the way that the "Out" signal will become louder in the places when the curve is higher, because when, for example, the "In" sound is at 25% of its volume, the plugin will increase the volume in the exact same spot of time based on the graph. Compression, on the other hand, works a bit different. Because the initial shape that most compressors have is a line that is coming from the Bottom-left corner to the middle, and then it goes to the right horizontally. And what it means is that when the "In signal" reaches the 50% vooume peak, the graph wont allow to the "Out sound" to go any higher, so in that way you can make a sound that sounds very loud and full without crossing the 0 db treshold. I know that it might sound a bit complicated, but for me when i was learning Maximus it was one of the easiest parts to fully understand.
can you please say me how you changed the sound of instruments (piano) or can you suggest one for me i need to change the sound of piano and other instruments
Ive been slacking on my applied piano class this semester because im making too many beats but this video made me snap back into practicing every day lol
The coolest thing about Waveshaper is that if you right click it adds another point, kind of like in automation or gross beat, and you can get very versatile in the distortion
a waveshaper simply appends a value on an existing value. X is time Y is volume. the line decides what the volume will be at a certain time. it actually works like a compressor threshold.
Im just waiting for that guy to ask simon to make a beat using one preset again . Great video by the way , youre a real one for giving away that information for free . Thank you
Oh i been searching in internet for one week and i ain't found good tapestop plugins and this video was helpful for me :) Thank you (Now I can make trendy progressive house track with this plugin :D)
Hey Simon. The fruity wave shaper is essentially a saturation/distorsion tool. it is very cool if you use it right. I love the rc-20 too. Thanks for the video. I may try the transient shaper.
so i just started making beats 5 days ago and your videos are helping me a lot. Still have tons of questions like about exporting sounds and using multiple pluggins at the same time and or preventing a pluggin affecting every melody you bring in.
because i created a new pattern with the same melody to open another halftime instance so it wouldnt affect the one i have or do i have to affect the original again. Its very confusing when the pluggin should affect the same melody in a different pattern channel and its on a different place on the mixer rack/channel rack and theres a different instance of halftime within that mixer state. So im kinda lost
I’m convinced that your from the future. You definitely have that teleportation device that stewey from family guy has. Your musically years ahead of soooo many other producers. A modern day zaytoven beats
I looked at the FL Manual, because I had never actually used WaveShaper lol, but it's basically a distortion plugin. You can also use it as a Soft Clipper.

Nobody:
Most Producers: *Goes to omnisphere for melody*
BigKidBeatz omnisphere is for noobs. Real Producers use Minecraft.
instead of saying “Most producers go to omnisphere for melodies” you had to put the Nobody: for no reason at all
Hilarious 😕🔫
Doesnt make any sense. Btw, people who use omnispheres arent producers.
