@@VerageAirsoftif you clean with nikwax footware cleaning gel, then proof with nikwax fabric and leather proof. It gives them extra water protection. Works with all my lowa boots. Also try sealskinz calf length waterproof socks.
Congratulations!!! This is an accurate description for this model. I've owned these boots for a year and even though I couldn't test it on an airsoft field (not practical anymore), I felt the sole slide on any kind of wet rock, including ice. I noticed in the video that pieces of the crampons were missing from the soles of the presented boots, just like my boots, only that I didn't use them intensively for a year and wore them alternately with other models (Mil-tec, Vemont, Skechers). I am disappointed that after a year, cracks started to appear on the sole and small pieces of the studs fell, but I must admit that they are waterproof and very comfortable. For airsoft I used spring, summer and autumn boots to the Mil-tec Squad Stiefel 5 inch, which weren't great at waterproofing, but they were very light, comfortable, the sole didn't slip, they were cheap and they came in many color combinations. In the winter I used some military boots made by Viper in nubuck leather.
Thanks for all that info. It's a hard pick because I love how my feet are still dry after walking for a long time in wet grass or crossing a small stream. The sole only bothered me in urban environment, when it's wet. But taking it in the woods, man I love this shoe :D I'm curious now that the MK2 came out, how well they adopted some changes.
Been wearing Lowa for over 10 years I’ve had the desert mid and coyote gonna get the black next time, I wear out the soles lol , never had the slipping or the tongue issues , and mine are silent even when running, best boots ever 10/10
After wearing them for about a year my left boot started squeaking between the outsole and midsole. Not very tactical. :D I also have the same problem with the left boot flap/tongue that constantly keeps moving aside to the left. That is a problem because I keep my shoelaces tucked in my boots and they are coming out when it happens. Other than that, the right boot is just top-notch! :D
You're not the first person to mention this. After someone pointed it out, I started to test it and you're right. They are not made for slick surfaces.
For now I use a pair of beat up Meindl’s. Been using them as my regular working boots and now they’re my beat up boots. I also have a pair of haix and another pair of Meindl for work. But looking into Haix ones for the future.
Desert boots probably don't need to be waterproof. ;-) I like my jungle boots. While not waterproof at all, that's a good thing because when you step in a puddle that's up to your knees, that means they drain out quickly... as designed. Also, that "flap" is called a "tongue" in English. I run Ryno Gear Tactical Combat Boots for now. They fit my budget and are decent. I am planning on getting a pair of Merrells before the upcoming season... I've had a pair in the past, and they are amazing boots.
Haha, some good points there. You're right about the desert boots and the jungle boots. De jungle boots were indeed made to dry fast and let the water out. There was no material that could stop all that water coming in the boot. So I need to fix the 'tongue' of the shoe. Merrels, I think I checked them out but couldn't find a lot of info or stores here. I know they are solid and good shoes.
How do you waterproof your shoes again? It actually makes sense to have different boots for different environments. But I looked for 1 that was a bit al around.

For the tongue moving to the side, I see airholes. Maybe poke them with a needle and then thread a inner strand of paracord through it and tie it up at one of the loops.
@@VerageAirsoft It’s probably not the best solution and you need to be weary for tearing the tongue. As the strand might act as a friction saw in the worst case because of the movement. But perhaps a shoemaker as a machine to put a loop on the tongue to thread your shoelaces through?
