- On "My Car Story" we're at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis WI on 2-22-18 at the World of Wheels car show.
We're looking at a 1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible in Black Paint. The car has the 351 CI engine.
The car's Owner is Herb Ahnert. Herb’s had the car since 2017. He said the car is original, not perfect, but a nice car to cruise and go to the car shows with.
ENJOY!
This one just popped up, Lou and it reminded me of 70 GT I had because of the manual brakes.
Nice options on this one 👌
Hi Gary, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I’ve owned this car since February 2018 unfortunately Herb had passed away and I purchase from his son. I have done some light restoration to her, the car is actually very special, per Marti Report 1 of 1 as equipped, numbers matching mostly original although I did replace carpeting, fuel tank, alternator, voltage regulator, converted to electronic ignition, full tune up, wheel bearing, high/low beam switch in floor, small weld patch on rear floor pan, new Flowmaster 40’s mufflers, cured a couple of small exterior blemishes, the car now looks and runs fantastic.
Hi Scott, Sad to read Herb passed away :-( Glad to read you have a great car :-) Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
So Mr Herb passed away around when this video was posted. Sad
Fantastic! I don't think I've ever seen a convertible Torino. I'm so glad I just did! Thanks for sharing it, Lou. I bet it sells fast.
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, High praise :-) My pleasure sharing this one with you, Lou
71 was the last year for mid sized Ford Torino convertibles. Very nice 351 4V V8 Cleveland in black.Original MSRP probably just under $4200 when new.
Hi Larry Hawkins, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Lou, any idea if this Torino sold ? Thank-you
Hi John, This was awhile ago however I do not know if it sold, Lou
Geez. If you have get a Torino, this is the one to get. Triple black, 4-speed, eargasm exhaust note. Nice car!

It's my pleasure, and thank you watching.
Great vid,,,,,back in the 70s,,,used to spend time in Twickenham and us kids used to go over to the petrol,,this guy that worked there had a 69 Torino,,,,,jacked up at the back,,,chains dangling off the rear and a sticker on the back saying " Don't laugh your daughter's in the back" thus was 79s humour,,,,,,he was more proud of his picture inside with him and Twiggy together,,,,,used to luv seeing that white fastback Torino back then in 75-76 it was full of holes but I lived it,,,,,,further down the road was a Pontiac Parrisiene,,only ever seen two Parrisiene's in my life,,,,,,,,,, Thanx for a great vid, have a wonderful weekend,,,

Slick ride... really nice lines on this and the triple black is triple cool, fits the design. I like the big comfy looking seats. Awesome sound n has a nice vicious revvvvv! Great car, fun vid, I enjoyed it, thanks very much.

i like it.... that for sale???
Hi Stephen, Happy to read you like it. Not aware of this one being for sale, Lou
This might be the first Torino convertible I have seen.
Hi Right Lane Hog, You're correct. You don't see many around so I'm so glad to video and share this one with you, Lou
That's a cool convertible, and I like the unique looking tach. I also like the red 1962 Mercury Monterey in the background.
Hi John Maccoy, The tach is cool, good spotting of that detail. Regarding the 62 Mercury, I like that one too.
Stay tuned :-) Lou
The price seems pretty decent for what the car is. I would buy it myself but I'm more broke than The Ten Commandments.
Hopefully this car motivates you to get on the road to repentance :-)
Love this car.
High praise :-)
Very nice car
Glad you enjoy this one Mike Lunn :-) Thank you for sharing, Lou
Cool...
Glad you enjoy this one Walter Wynnchok :-) Lou
Lou Costabile My friend had a couple of Torinos in Upstate New York back in the 1970's........
That had to be fun riding around in those :-)
Lou Costabile One was a 6 cylinder and one was a 302 V8. Non Convertibles!
Lou Costabile Yep, Lots of Fun!
Did it sell?
Not sure, this video was quite awhile ago.
There weren't that many ragtops to go around that year.
Thank you for sharing.
Love it
Glad you "love it" :-)
Very nice :)
Glad you enjoyed this one :-)
How Much $$??
Not sure.
Convertible with 4 speed 👆...
Nice :-)
Lou, how many car shows do you average in a year?
Hi WIlliam Scott, I'm not sure? I haven't thought about it, Lou
I like Herb.
How much for the car?
Edit: I asked the price before the end of the video. Thanks for asking!
$28,900.00
20alphabet just my opinion but $28,900 seems excessively high for one of these cars especially with it being a survivor unrestored cars. Great cruiser but the car has little to no options if you read the Marti report. Yes the 4 speed is rare but there were much bigger engines available than the run of the mill 351. Yes triple black is one of the most desirable color combos but if you do your research this car is valued at around $20,000 all day long in this condition. I hate when people think because they have an old car that they all are Barrett Jackson million dollar cars. Nice car but overpriced.
You hardly ever see these!
Glad you enjoy the uniqueness of this one :-)
