i think a lot of folks nowadays see an rpgmaker game w eldritch horrors & immediately compare it to funger. not a bad thing, they are certainly very different games but if that comparison gets people to play this game then it’s cool w me lol. i loved this game’s style & humor so i will for sure give hylics a look!
It has the humor and similar art style of Hylics but has the general tone of funger as well as having general story beats of funger. And it helps that this game is basically an alternate earth, like funger.
14:26 it’s funny when looking up the origins of the word villein, which were land bound peasants, and used derogatorily for lacking “Noble” qualities. Now when mid evil slang use attack by Villeins, I now chuckle imagining peasants attempting to liberate the means of production when said.

This game looks very cool, just the right mix of funny rpg. I'm 20 mins in but I'm gonna have to play and finish the game myself before I continue 😂

"J-" is more of a brand than a specification of origin. It's like how "Euro-" sometimes applies to music that isn't made by Europeans.
