Da Coconut Nut is a song composed by Filipino National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, for the band Smokey Mountain in 1991.
Imagine UNIS covering this song❤
A bigger turn than "I Feel Good" ending that leads to "Strings" 😂.
BINI were babies here 😂, the song really fits them for a pre-debut 🤙🌸
The best part is, they're acting cute but it's not cringey. LIKE YES 🥹
This was a cover from The 90s legendary kid group, Smokey mountain
"Da Coconut Nut" is a song composed by Filipino National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, for the band Smokey Mountain in 1991. The song's lyrics describe the uses of the different parts of a coconut tree. Cayabyab, in an interview with ABS-CBN, said that the song was composed in the novelty style popularized by Yoyoy Villame.
"Da Coconut Nut" was covered by the Filipino girl group Bini as their pre-debut single. It was released on November 20, 2020 as a digital single by Star Music.[12] The single was intended to pay homage to Ryan Cayabyab.
Uncle’s and auntie’s love this song so nostalgia for them that’s why they love BINI ☺🌴 🥥
this is where it all started..
Bini beauty are very natural, nobody went under the knife
My honest take on DCN. For me it was a great song for a pre-debut.
1. The song is a beloved song from Ryan Cayabyab which will capture those who heard this song in the 90s and the fun vibes can catch new listeners.
2. Despite the fact that DCN is a novelty song, it showed the strong foundation the girls had, singing, dancing, projecting/acting.
3. DCN is market research for ABSCBN on how people perceive PPop idols and they clearly made adjustments.
4. I miss Bini Babies’ Kumu streams in the beginning where they had DCN as bg music on a loop.
5. It clearly has a place in their hearts, imagine during Biniverse they sang DCN at the very end, just before Pantropiko which is arguably their most popular song.
Maisie needs to see that Biniverse DCN to Pantropiko transition.
Everyone's suddenly digging up the pre-debut vids!!!! Da COCONUT NUT waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
They're so young here, plus it was a low budget vid. lol
we love it. :) Thanks for your reaction
Need to react their red carpet in Billboard Korea their awra in that event is like a superstar considering fifty fifty and other great kpop groups in there
This song is so popular during early 90's , composed by a legendary filipino composer and national artist for music Mr. Ryan Cayabyab.
Coconut Nut = 2020
Born To Win = 2021

Jhoanna 16
Sheena 16
Thanks for reacting to BINI. You may want to check out the dance practice of this song🕺🥥🌴
Iconic.
I think the arrangements of this song were highly influenced by their Korean coaches during their training, I remember their coach wanted their voices on a higher pitch
true! I remember they talked about it in the the One Dream Bini-BGYO Journey series
Yeah, I saw that clip from the behind-the-scenes part 1 of making the song. I'm glad they moved on from this kind of singing though, as this resembles typical K-pop singing, which is higher pitch and might even be forced, which leads to bad live performances.
Glad that Bini moved on to singing styles that are close to their natural voices instead where all of them shine their own way 😊.
This MV is cringe at first tbh, but after many more listens, it has grown on me and it reminds me how they started which make me prouder for them from where they are now :)
This is cringe If only they didn't have this as a pre-debut, and other members were minors.
I can't imagine them releasing this when they're all in their 20s 😂.
I have a feeling most Blooms request reactors to watch this to troll ψ(`∇´)ψ
They are the unnies of Unis :)
This MV was filmed amidst pandemic with a very minimal production budget. On top of that, their company encountered political-related challenges that led to its temporary shutdown. Yes, this is cringey that even the BINI members don't want to talk about this era specially Sheena. 😂
But it's beautiful to think that 'Da Coconut Nut' evolved into ' Cherry On Top'. ❤
It's not cringey for them! If it is, they won't be performing it at all in all their BINIverse concerts. It's where all started and will always have a soft spot into BINI members' heart.
@@adrianplata204 i agree to both of you. If I'm not mistaken there were couple of interviews that they cringed and made jokes about how they look on the video. But there are also instances where the girls did acknowledged this song and gave proper credit.
@@RA_dk I myself is not a fan of the lyrics. But the choreo rocks! I would have ignored BINI back then when I first saw them perform it on a noontime show if not for that tightly synchronized and badass choreography. It just left me in awe and got me interested with the group. I guess, I am just grateful for "Da Coconut Nut" no matter how silly the song is. 😅
understandable, this is their era wherein they are still testing the waters, then released the Born to Win, until they finally found their now famous bubbly pop sound on NA NA NA, then the rest is history.
I became a bloom because of this song. And they make me forget the tune and sound of the old Da coconut nut
Thanks for reacting . Now let's all move on and pretend that this thing did not happen😂 cause BINI themselves don't want this ERA again.😂
NAHHH... it's not the song but how they look during that time.
@@jinkhitz640 yeah. That's why I said ERA not the SONG.
Hi Maisie! I really love your reaction videos to our beloved girls Bini but can ya react as well to... (only if ya got some spare time ofc😊)

-BLOOMSBLKD2024 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think this gives a bit of Unis Poppin vibe :)
this is to compete with the Baby Shark song?
You're good lady. You heard the lyrics right the first time. The coconut is not to be messed with.
Why you disrespecting da coconut? It can build a big house for the family!
she just need to find a coconut man
@koniroyuuforty3301 make sure that if he cuts the tree, he gets the fruit free.
Probably because it's not a real nut 🙄.
321 Shout!
@@pescawaldo i love the coconut!
Pls react to bini sibling group bgyo (they from the same label/company ) with there new single "trash"
Eyyy 🤙
5 dollars and a dream. lol but yeah, this was before Born to win, it’s a remake of an old song, so it’s very familiar to Filipinos. Also, I think even the BINI girls cringe when they see this. Hahahah
Aiah and colet are 19yo in this video so yes they are pretty young. Sheena and jhoanna are 16yo. While the others are 17-18yo. Hahahah!
This era tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂
They're dropping the "f" word like it's no biggie. 😄
They never liked this song, nobody did lol, being a new group they really had no say whatsoever so that’s that. Da Coconut Nut is an old comic novelty Filipino song. If you will notice it has that touch of JPop, it was to rival the back then MNL48 - a girl group under the same Japanese handler of Japan’s main group AKB48.
🩷🌸🌸🩷Can you react Da coconut Dance practice??🩷🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
i've never seen anyone react to this LMAO
I have and they all wear the same faces, they didn't expect it 😂.
I’ve seen some and they are all stunned and confused. Haha.
not the da coconut 😁. after you watch this, put it in a treasure chest then throw away the key pls. hahahaha
Fr Fr Fr broooo
It's not bad, it's just contain kpop element and because of lyrics.
The song's not bad, but the low budget vid tho.. bruh :)
