Здравствуйте Davie McPhail. Отличная приманка, великолепное исполнение, все ясно и понятно, хотя комментарий на Английском языке. Превосходная работа!!! С уважением Сергей Н.
Great looking wet fly mate. Besides rainbows and browns that would be a super for brookies here. Thanks for sharing another great pattern my friend. Best Regards, Ken
When you hit this fly with an ultraviolet light, it pops just right. I always wonder why you add Jungle Cock eyes on everything you tie if you can. It did for some reason make them unique. I wanted to copy your patterns and when I found how much Jungle Cock capes cost I was shocked but not deterred. I bought the best one I could not really afford. It cost slightly less than $100 dollars and was shockingly small. Many of the feathers on the cape had split and I quickly learned how to repair them. I do not think most people watching your videos know how much work goes into just one demonstration because they seldom try copying closely any of your patterns. However, I know. Adding an eye to any pattern improves it 100%. Adding the proper amount of UV material is another secret to catching more fish. Too much flash, sparkle, or UV color and fish will refuse a fly and even spook with few exceptions. Using 3D-eyes out performs Jungle Cock, but patterns too small for 3D-eyes I use Jungle Cock. However, I don’t think you will see a plastic eye tied fly displayed in a shadow box any time soon. Jungle Cock is faster to add to flies and looks much more natural, I just hate leaving flies with Jungle Cock decorating trees on the little streams I fish. I prefer giving them to others. I tell them they are close copies of Davie McPhail’s patterns and work magic on fussy trout. If just one of these fly fishing professors ever shows me one they tied, I will let you know. It takes me three hours or longer to perfect and tie one of your patterns from scratch. Some and many of them I fail repeatedly and curse you for making it look so easy. My little fly tying room looks like a tornado went thru or was vandalize by a feather-eating monster after completing three flies. I will never be a professional fly dresser because no one could afford the price.
Very nice (as always) Davie! With these colors and overall shape I can see this as a looking like a sunfish fry and a size 10 would match them nicely around the end of June. I'll definitely be adding a couple to the box as the bass are very fond of baby sunfish :-) ATB! Hank

Hello Davie, I was wondering, you mentioned tying this fly for sea trout and grisle but a sparser version. Would the hook be bigger and/or a longer shank type? Mike
Hi Mike, An Alex Jackson single hook in size 6 to size 10 would be a good size though you could go bigger if you want depending where and when you are fishing... All the very best Davie...
Davie, I have been watching your videos carefully and truly appreciate your consistency and the efficiency of the techniques you use. I understand the equipment you use is critical to the quality you seek. I have developed an innovative bobbin and would like to know if would be willing to try it if I sent you my latest model? You feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you for your consideration. Hugues.
Hi Hugues, Do you have a website or a way of seeing your bobbin holder as I would be interested in seeing one...Thank you for the kind words... All the very best Davie..
Davie, Thank you for your prompt response. I do not yet have public information available on the product as I am making the final touches before starting production. Should you be willing to send me an email at Simonflytying@gmail.com, I can send you pictures and a short video demonstration (not as nice as yours...). Again, thank you for your consideration.
