I’m a cheepo - I have resorted to almost exclusively airbrushing acrylics & have had pretty good luck with it. Now I’ve got a cheepo way of making my own thinker too. Good info, thanks.
So if I use 9 dump truck loads of water and 1 dump truck load of medium, would it still only be 15 drops of glycerin? You didn't make that part clear. Please answer quickly. I have 10 dump trucks here waiting, and they're union!
I use "Golden airbrush medium" bought from amazon. Also, this is good info if you use different brands of acrylic paints bought from the craft section. Its a general purpose thinner that has worked well for every paint I havd tried.
Will this work with house trim paint. I use windshield wiper fluid to thin my paint when I run latex trim paint. It gives me work time and lays flat, but I only use a 1/3 cup or so to my cut in pot. I am always looking for better ways to make my work look like it has been sprayed. Thanks.
I honestly don’t know if it will work with house paint or not. But with house paint when I spray it I just use regular distilled water sometime with a squirt of dawn into the gallon to thin it. You can use foam rollers and it mimics spraying
Custom Scale Models hi, thank you for your 'recipe' :) And if i may ask, have you find that DIY Thinner with "acrylic medium" is much better then this 'simple' technique: ruclips.net/video/CLic6-LUYdY/видео.html And that "acrylic medium", hm, what is that, is this somekind of varnish, i can't find it in Europe :( is it "acrylic medium" = "company 'original' thinner" ?
@@CustomScaleModels The tare feature resets the balance to zero. If you put your container on the scale and it weighs and shows two grams on the display, hitting the tare resets the balance to zero!
Acrylic medium drys clear. The milky color of the thinner does not effect the paint color. I forgot to mention that!
Thank you for your amazing explanations. That is so awesome.
Thanks 👍
I've never tried to spray Acrylic. Thanks for this video. I saved it to my playlist. Thanks for sharing.

Stainless Steel Nuts make ideal paint agitaters, plus the hole through the nut helps to mix the liquid.

Well done nice work buddy, I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you! I appreciate it
Thank you
Distilled water & where did you buy the medium?
I have not seen anyone on you tube using your method...interesting.

any stainless steel screws or small items make a good physical agitator..
Can i use IPA instead washing fluid ??? @@
IPA makes the paint dry to fast and sometimes turns acrylics into a sticky mess. You probably could mix it 80% water 20% 91 ipa and be fine though
@@CustomScaleModels thank you :D
Acrylic newbie here...
Once mixed you add 65% paint to 35% mix?...im not to familiar with air brushing & water based paint.
Thanks
I don’t know the percentage right off the top of my head but It’s 5ml of paint to 12.5ml of water/ thinner

Do you need deionised or distilled water ?
Yes. I use distilled but you can also use deionized water. If you use any other water you can see the minerals and stuff from the water in the paint

learn to use the tare function of your scale...
What is that?
