How would this backpack handle a multi day hike? I'm looking for something more subtle but capable.

You're reviewing some nice bags. How bout doing a Topo Designs Global Briefcase? No one has done a review on this one. Chase Reeves mentioned it but didn't do a thorough review.
I'm wishing someone would do a review before I pull the trigger on it.

How does the gray hold up as far as scuffs, dirt, marks etc with daily use? Can't decide between gray or tan...

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for reviewing this pack and I like the customizations you did to the pack. Where did you get the padding for the top handle ?

Antoine Solomon Hey man! Bought off Amazon!

@@paulsproductreviews8549 Interested in that as well for my pack. Can you be more specific for that padding like how did you attach it on the handle? And maybe a direct link to that particular padding? Thanks and really good review of this pack.

@@jonnyt16 definitely man. Here’s the Amazon link and I added an extra strip of Velcro to manage over-wrapping it a little. www.amazon.com/dp/B00HICOO1O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_0a.6FbF18C130?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I've been doing one bag travel with the skycap for years now. Still searching for the 'perfect' travel bag though. Do you think the IBEX 35 could be better for travel or perhaps not? Do you think you could fit a tennis shoe in each of the side pockets or would that be too big?

For travel I definitely think the skycap is better. The ibex pockets COULD fit a sneaker each depending on your size shoes, but it wouldn’t be a naturally good fit for those pockets. If you check out my skycap review, I think that bag carries more than the traditional carry on (especially if you use packing cubes) though I do miss wheels sometimes (but the fact it doesn’t have the rails for the handle is one of the reasons why it has more internal space).

@@paulsproductreviews8549 Yea I was kinda looking to go down a little bit in size from the skycap to go more minimal, if possible. Aside from the size difference between the two, are there other reasons why skycap is better? There are a few things about the IBEX which may seem better so let me know:
      1. I'm not a fan of the top pocket on the skycap. It's annoying to access with the big lip over it and it's also too big and not structural so it mushes around a lot with what is in the bag. The IBEX seems to have more structurally defined pocket(s) at the top. Do you agree?
      2. Not a fan of the admin panel on skycap as I like to keep all my tech in a tech pouch (which would seem to fit in the large top pocket on IBEX).
      3. Skycap I usually slide my laptop into where teh straps could be hidden but it's not really designed for that so I think maybe the IBEX would hold my laptop better and close to the back unlike the skycap.
      4. Top grab handle on the IBEX seems really rough unlike the skycap which is nice and padded. Although I think I could just add padding to the handle if I wanted.
      5. It seems like the IBEX might conform to the back better overall due to the adjustable straps and back plate. Which one feels better on the back do you think?
      6. IBEX seems tall and thin therefore it cannot stand vertically on it's own. Skycap cannot do this either but I think it still at least tries to stand up vertically and that is important at the airport where you may have to access stuff in it fairly frequently.
      7. Any other reasons why you believe Skycap is better for one bag travel in your opinion?

Paul I bought the ones 35 in men. Your bday one looks great to mine has not arrived yet. I can't wait but I kinda wish it could stand. On its own but I do think. It might be the perfect pack

The downfall of this company is that there is no repair option in the U.S. if you have a warrantee repair, they have to ship it to China. They told me it will take 6 to 8 months to get my pack back. I have and enjoy using allot of their products, but will longer be purchasing from them in the future.

Dan L oh wow. That sux. I know most of their stuff is made in Vietnam at the same factory that makes a lot of the hipster bags like Peak Design. Their customer service has always been great for me. Sorry you had that experience
