A *_true_* Gray Jedi I believe wouldn't reject the Force, but embrace it, both the Light and the Dark. Accept the truth that in order to find true Balance, one must follow the path of the light while also accepting that the dark is a part of who we are while also not letting it define who we are. Wouldn't you agree 🤔?
What you described in the second half is just what the light side is supposed to be. The Dark Side is acting entirely for your own selfish interests and the light side is acting devoid of those interests. You can’t do both at once and the attempt just leaves you without the benefits of either.
I find that Quaigon jin, Luke, and his people are true grey Jedi. Now understand that i use this phrase differently than someone that uses both dark and light side of the force. I both Kwaikan jin and luke understood that not having a lack of emotions made one stringer in the foce. It is not that having emotions that turned one to the dark side but how you directed your emotions.
The Doomed were probably ok with the Lost Tribe being in charge of the natives due to the Tribe, while using the darkside, was not as self-destructive and fully evil as the traditional Sith.
The problem of the force is in the name in and of itself. You have to figured, what is the antonym of force? Guidance? Gentleness? A surrender? This is a question not just posed for Star Wars and its fandom, but is probably the key question in Buddhism itself. To become aware, and to become awake. The individual must be able to touch reality without affecting it. You do this, be realizing the body touches reality as long as you are alive. But the mind is always on particulars rather than on the whole picture of it all. When you realize that both sides of the force, is merely the nature of choice? And that the two strategic choices are either to change a thing or to conserve it? The dark side of choices becomes a forceful change mechanism. The light side of choices becomes conservation of things, unless there is an existential crisis. The middle path, is no choice, none at all. What does the individual do when there are no choices to be made, is the question!
To understand why some powerful Star Wars characters came to hate the force was likely they realized what Satele Shan and the spirit of Darth Marr spent five years talking about during Satele Shan's exile in SWTOR. That the force was like a river, in a Taoist way. Those that came to hate the force saw the directions the currents of the force direct them, those the cared for and the galaxy as a whole, and they rejected the direction of the current.

I know this is off-topic to the main point in this vid but as of late I can not stop wondering why using telekenisis/the force to fight with lightsabers isn't more common within the lore. (Disney's & the expanded stuff that was turned into myth.) I believe I have only seen Kreia use this technique (I honestly don't know if it has an actual name or not). It seems like it would be a very useful skill for anyone who could do it at all...even if it consisted of one other lightsaber being held by the force while you are fighting with whatever form & saber you are with your hands. Kreia seemed to be a mastet at it & honestly the shock value alone would effect whoever you were going up against.... Imagine you enter a foggy hallway in a damaged ship & you see three lightsabers ignite within a close proximity to each other... but you only see the outline of one person....that would be scary because even if they are just floating you are mosy likely going to start to think about their skill level & think things like..."If this person trusts in their abilities enough to engage me while levitating their weapons & clasping their hands together...then they must be more powerful than I am." I hope we will see someone use this type of combat in a Disney + show or maybe a new movie (Although they need to focus more on telling a good syory first, before they start to add flashy stuff into it all.)
