  • Located deep in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh, Buran Ghati is a beautiful creation of nature; so beautiful in diversity that very few can match its grandeur.
    Starting from the ancient village of Janglik with its beautiful houses and age old temples, to the gorgeous bugyals of Dayara interrupted by the forest of pine and oak ;
    from the sacred Chandra Nahan lakes to the rappelling from the pass is a beautiful thrilling adventure.
    Wonder whether there are any other places such where the beauty and landscape varies so much on day to day basis.
    From the green flowery valleys of kashmir to the high mountians of Uttarakhand - you get a flavour of everything in Buran Ghati.

    Had a best experience of buran ghati in may ,the chandranahan and dundha base camp was completely covered in snow , we started our buran ghati trail around 3 am in morning wearing our microspikes and gaiters along with the headlamps , though it was only 2.5km till summit but the elevation made it difficult , reaching the buran pass was a heart felt archeivement in itself. The rappling and slidding down the way was the best part and one of the most hectic 13 hours walk till rivercamp side . Dayara basecamp had the prettiest meadows and the sceneric view. Kuddos for your shooting skills and mentioning every details while travelling the trails was the best part❤

    My favourite part of the video is you sliding a little bit more than intended, which was both scary and funny🤭

      @theruralhiker  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi brother. Both Tarsar Marsar and Buran Ghati trek are extremely beautiful. The three lakes of Tarsar- marsar and Sundarsar are out of this world. At the same time the walks across Buran ghati trek is one of the most wonderful trails I have been to.
      Go to Buran Ghati first. Then some other time go to Tarsar Marsar.

    Hi ....Buran pass and buran ghati both are different ah ??! Why there is rappelling?? That will only for to reach river campsite or anything???! and some people falling down with snow wall .. if rappelling is available they why ?? little bit confusing....

    • @theruralhiker
      @theruralhiker  4 месяца назад +1

      Buran Ghati is basically the buran pass itself. The main attraction is there is a portion that you need to rappel down from the top of the pass, it’s not for a river crossing. It’s safe , don’t worry about it . You get to experience the thrill of it as well. After rappling down a bit, you can slide down the snow if there is ample snow and it’s great fun.
      There are a few river crossings but none that technical. You can just cross but stepping onto stones.

      Brother itenary is :
      Janglik -> Dayara thatch-> Litham-> excursion to chandranahan lakes and back to Litham-> Dhunda -> pass crossing day and camp at Munirang-> walk some 3 hours on the last day and take your cab .
      Guide is needed . Charges you need to talk with them . Approx around 15k per person or a bit less.
      Trek itself is 6days . But to reach base camp janglik from Shimla and then having buffer days and acclimatisation days . Post trek a couple of days to return.
      Overall atleast 10-14 days are needed for the entire thing.
