Feel better, brother! I am suffering with a bad hip and I've had a bad back for years, so I feel your pain. On the Explorer 36 - I own, wear and love mine. It is my favorite Rolex sports watch due to its incredible legibility, iconic status and yet inconspicuous. As I've gotten older, I don't like a heavy watch and the Explorer is extremely comfortable. Sporty and classy, a true GADA watch. I also own an OP36 (green dial), and there is room in my collection for both. Cheers!
I believe the ed white and the new fios are listed at 39.7mm and have the same size dial and bezel as 42mm. The 42mm 3861 Professional is “larger” because of the asymmetrical case, not the bezel or dial. would be interesting to measure.
Happy Friday, and thank you for an awesome video. Looking forward to the Sub review! The FOIS is 39.7mm, and one of the cool features about it (in my opinion), is that the crystal is domed just like the vintage ones. However, it is a sapphire crystal instead of hesalite (domed sapphire crystal). It’s based off of the first Omega in space,-Wally Schirra’s personal Omega (he was one of the original 7 astronauts). This was before NASA issued wristwatches to the astronauts. It was pre-moonwatch. The history is so cool! I wish I could just for a short time, travel back to that era and sit in on some of those early missions in Mission Control!
Hello Tony, As a fellow watch lover, I have always worn a watch since middle school 30+ years. My family and friends always question why I spend so much money on wrist watches. What is your response to people who ask you the same question? Ps. I still own every watch I have ever bought.
Somebody in design or QC missed that the minute hand is too narrow for legibility and for Lume!!!! Big problem for me. I love the watch but this needs to be fixed before I would ever buy one.
Tony best time of the week your Q&A - Angivin from Sydney Australia. Hope you been well mate and your back is better. Which time piece would you choose between the Rolex Bruce Wayne GMT II or the Yacht-Master 42 RLX titanium ? As usual your thoughts and perspective is the most valuable Cheers Angivin
Q&A - Hi Tony, new subscriber - Love the content & your cats! Sellers remorse is a very real thing in our crazy hobby, have you sold and re-bought the same piece multiple times? Have you re-bought a watch that will now never leave your collection? Best regards to you and your followers from London, UK.
Idk if you've answered this before... but I'm thinking about getting the new air king.. i think it's so different from any other rolex watch. im curious what your thoughts are in the air king.. would you buy and wear it?
$500 or less watches to consider: Casio 5610 or 5000U = God tier, solar recharging, time updated nightly with radio waves automatically, ridiculous amount of functions, and tough as nails with 200 meters water resistance. Other fun watches are Seiko divers (I've been wearing a King Turtle Manta Ray Day Date for the past week), LongIsland Watch Company selections (I don't own any yet...) and Marathon Quartz (you can swap the battery easily yourself...again I don't own any yet...). I own a Rolex, several Omegas, several Tags and a GS...just because these brands cost more...does not mean that you get more in durability and function to some very inexpensive and great watches. It's a good time to be an enthusiast.
Hey Tony,Years ago on your old channel you mentioned that the Patek 5226 became a Grail watch when they announced it. You also said that you probably couldn’t afford to buy it. My question is how do you decide what to buy and how long you wanna save it for before you pull the trigger on a watch? the 5226 is expensive, but if you don’t pull the trigger on the Daytona and the Zenith that you bought, you’re probably more than halfway there on the price? Don’t get me wrong those are awesome watches and A lot people would probably choose that Daytona over the 5226. Do you think you are more focused on having a bunch of things or saving for one bigger thing?
Damm Tony i hope you back pain gets better, Ive been dealing with sciatica pain this week, horrible experience, I can’t even move out of my bed, sleeping on one side only and taking muscle relaxers 😢 At least I was happy to watch your video today as I can’t do much but just resting up, have a great weekend ✌🏼
Hey Tony hope your doing well my man! What are your thoughts on the 40MM Vintage No date Submariners? I love how they wear a bit smaller and the creamy patina really differentiates it from your typical modern sub. I like the one from the 80’s and saw yours is a bit newer, wondering if there’s a difference in the maintenance between the two styles?
two days ago i was talking to two watchmakers and i happened to mention bell and ross and how id never seen one in the wild and i dont know who buys them and they both spoke up and said bell and ross are very nice and well made so ive started searching them pre owned. i always liked the square ones but i was worried they might be a Uboat situation.
Being in the UK, I always enjoy your vids on a Saturday morning - keep up the great work! 👌👍I've never asked a question so I thought I might as well put that right. Watch collaborations seem to be all the rage right now. Some look to be complete fails and pure cash grabs right 'out of the box.' But there are also some pretty interesting and imaginative collabs out there. If you could engineer your own dream collab. between any watch brand and ANYONE else - what would it be? (Sorry to put you on the spot with such a wild question!)
The best thing about a new Speedmaster moon watch is the display case back to see the movement which is beautiful. Other than that I personally find them slightly boring but they are a classic icon.
@@talkingtimepieceswithtony correct yes sorry I meant to say the sapphire sandwich version of the black or white dial. Probably my favorite part of a speedy is the display back. Not sure why they didn’t give this version a display case!
Thanks for the answer brother! So happy for your success with the channel. You may gave just bought the ultimate Halloween watch with the new Simpson Swatch… are there other great Halloween watches out there you like? Peace!✌️
I'm not jealous of your watches I have two myself omega speedmaster professional and a seamaster 300 but i am so jealous of the way you play a guitar it would be amazing if i could do that 👍👍
Hey Tony, great content as always! Great choice going for a neo-vintage Sub! QUESTION: I need your advice! My wife keeps asking me if she can wear my Nomos Olive Club (Ref: 753.S3). It’s the only watch in my collection that will fit her wrist as it’s on a Nato - the others would require removing links. This scares me because she is not a careful person and I know she’ll scratch it up beyond wear and tear. I’ve politely told her no because my watches are the one thing in my life that are off limits. I wouldn’t dare light her Jo Malone candles (which are purely for decoration) or wear her expensive slippers to wash the car. That being said, I feel bad. Am I being wise by saying no to her wearing my Nomos or am I being an arsehole?
Yeah, only thing is that the surgery is too risky with some of my other health issues. Totally sucks. I agree on the sub. Good to hear from you. 🤙🤙🎃🎃👻👻💀💀
Ohh. I meant. I currently get my questions answered. But as your channel grows.. you will see our (the origionals) questions less.. meaning we get seen and answered less. Love the growth.. but sad that I will get my questions answered less (bitter sweet).
No man, I always get to the questions no matter new or old, and if I recognize your name, it will always be added. Except for the Air-King question. 😂🎃🎃🤙🤙

The Explorer is an enthusiast watch. This guy seems to just like flex pieces. Subs are so basic…a flex piece for people that no nothing about watches
