You two make such a cute couple. Love those hotel points. I actually like older rooms because cause I have allergies when it comes to new stuff and fresh paint. Off gassing can bother my sinuses. I think your room is really nice. Hehe, last summer, hubby and I stayed in a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. There really was blood on the wall and the headboard was sticky, lol. Okay, TMI. Oh thank you so much, Janet! That is so sweet of you! That new paint and new stuff allergy sounds horrendous....but nothing is as horrendous as that room that reeked of cigarettes! With blood on the wall, and sticky headboard, I hope you and your hubby turned around and got a fresh room! Michael and I have stayed in such rooms, and no amount of savings is worth that! Hopefully in the future we can share some really nice places to stay. We are so thrilled you came along with us here!
I have been a lot of places in New Mexico. But I have never been to Socorro. I noticed a lot of hotel in New Mexico are in a lot of maintenance since the world stopped.

There's no reason why the lights didn't work, hair dyer not working right, could be bad wiring. That is just poor management, overlooking safety to save a buck.
