Hi. I would definitely paint this. I think a neat metallic chrome/silver or a copper bronze finish would look great on this piece to really make it stand out like a modern, futuristic piece. Plenty of choices in spray paint and would really be unique and make the planters and out!
It actually reminds me of old soviet architecture you can spot everywhere here. For people like me, it actually makes me depressed just to step in a building that would look somewhat like this.
Another way to do it is take plywood use that as the wall and put the egg carton on the outside I think the edges would look a million times better. But all and all this was brilliant and creative idea thanks for sharing I plan on trying this out. Thanks again guys
I'm fairly certain they filled them, or it looks like they are filled towards the end. Regardless, I have no idea why they would want to leave the actual plastic there as it doesn't look good in the least.
They should use that cement pot as a cast mold and use a different material that looks better and then they should show the buffering polishing and sanding of that material into a proper pot cause that would actually be cool if it looks decent as a finished project atm it just looks half done

You have to replace the dirt every year. And your plants don't look as good (not healthy and strong). So maybe use your feeling for watering a bit. Don't give too much. Root rot, never happened to me. Ever. And I have small and big pots. Why do you think you have a dish that you can shove under the pots? So the water stays in. Root rot, only for fools.

I thought he was going to take the caps off the bottle tops, slide in a long nail and then fill the bottles with cement and put the cap back on. Then when it dries, pop off the bottle tops and the nails will act as re-bar to support the connection to the feet.
The point is not to critique their finished product but to take the concept and do your own thing. For that, 2 thumbs up.

Spraying a few coats of varnish on the egg cartons will probably make demoulding a lot easier as it won’t become as soggy from the water it sucked up
