The price seems high if you doing a single part, but add up the time it would take to do all the steps involved and the materials required. It is priced fairly, I think. Yes, it is nice to have the option to use these services.
Think electroplating involves conductive coat and then immersion plating. Vacuum plating doesn't need conductive coat, its vapourised metal in a vacuum, looks for somewhere to settle. Finsh you got is immaculate. Third way might be latetst metallic spray paints, great reflection but not at all handleable.
I notice your latest bell design accommodates a bearing in the top. Any chance you'll be updating this file on Thingiverse? Thank you for all your support for the community :)
Wow! The final result looks pretty amazing ! Even your (non-PCBway spraypainted version looked pretty damn good.
So nice to have these kinds of services available!

Either color would look really cool for a robot body
Or a hotrod or custom Motor bike. Well even a space ship. Maybe Elon should plate his ships this way.
Is it possible to add a tab with your microspot welder?
No, the finish is just like that of a plastic model kit that has a chromed plastic bumper type finish. It must be clear coated. It is not conductive.

the bearing bell design has 5 bearings, but it is a commissioned project.
