This video is dedicated to my friend who passed away recently. I’ve had many heartbreaks in my life but this one...even though I only knew him for a short time... really hit me hard. I heard the news from his friend last week, and I couldn’t believe it. It seemed to come out of nowhere. So young, so passionate. I kept rereading the text hoping that it was just a prank. I would have gotten furious at him for pulling that on me but I’d rather have him alive than not. But it is true...He’s gone. I will never see him, talk to him, work with him, laugh with him ever again.
Alex, from the moment you started talking, I knew you were special. It was an instant connection: soul to soul. Part of me is angry that you left me alone with all the things we were supposed to do together... But I cannot be angrier at you for leaving than at those that may have hurt you. There are very few friends I’ve had in my life whom I felt deeply connected to so quickly. I knew we'd become good friends for the rest of our lives. I am slowly accepting that you are gone… I miss you very much. Thank you for teaching me. Thank you for opening up your mind and soul. Thank you for being vulnerable. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for making me cry with your performances. Thank you for inspiring me to be a better person and performer. You will always be a part of all the work I do. If you knew Alex, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine what you must be going through… He was truly an amazing person, and we all wish he was still around, but I know he is in a better place now...
Friends, hug your loved ones tighter. Check up on them often. Show them you love and appreciate them. If you’re ever going through something, please talk to someone first. They really really care about you. We want to help you. We love you.
