The sound quality of the DJI Mic 2 is probably more professional. They've got a lot of experience fine-tuning it, and it's already won over a lot of people.
I like the sound from the mic 2 better. The mic 2 sounds fuller. The Saramonic sounds a bit muffled and compressed on the high end. Im sure they can fix that through a software upgrade
I found the saramonic to sound more natural and even. The DJI sounded more punchy and rough around the edges. Almost as if they were trying to sound like a Neumann tlm 103 but failed to capture the silky edges the 103 produces. I’d love to see a wave file to see if my thoughts are right.
The Saramonic sounds more compressed in tone than the DJI Mic 2 but the DJI Mic 2 has that Sibilance S tone that makes me angry and go hulk busters. DJI mic 1 is better than 2. Saramonic has to update the firmware to give a more open sound stage and than they can stomp all over DJI. Saramonic please update firmware, I was sad with the BlinkMe B2 never getting an update fix for it's issues. Be the best Saramonic you can be and kick some bum bum.
How would this work in a multi camera environment. Let's say you have multiple Sony A7IV's or FX3s. You can share timecode to ONE of these cameras, how about the others? Also, the rode wireless pro has the same feature, just not the dji.
Great review, another good product from Saramonic. I have owned Saramonic RX9 and 2 TX9 receivers and have put them through much abuse over the past 8 years and still work perfectly. I haven't yet decided what my next wireless audio system will be, but I love the size, Timecode, sound quality, FLOAT, and will hold up in the rain if needed. I only own DJI drones thus far and it's not necessary for my to go that route. Do you know if I can use it with my GoPro 12 Black? Thx for your reviews 🍻
Not an option for me. It’s still the same 25ms latency that Saramonic typically has! At the same price point, the Rode Wireless Go offers a latency of only 6.5ms. Huge difference!
@@PavSZ I have the Blink 500. It’s well-documented, including in videos here on RUclips, that this mic system has high (25ms or more) latency when monitoring with headphones while recording directly to a camera. You need to configure the delay settings to compensate. The Saramonic Ultra has the same manufacturer spec!
IF saramonic built an action camera like the action 5 pro, a gimbal camera like the pocket 3, made their mic work seamless with all of those devices then yes, it "could" be a DJI Mic 2 killer. Until then, nope.
@@PavSZ Doesn't this send AUDIO timecode to one of the audio channels? I don't think this has the ability to send timecode as metadata. In which case, pretty much every camera (and phone) that has a stereo audio input would have a mono audio signal to one channel and an audio timecode signal to the other channel.
Don't you need to bring along a laptop to use timecode on the Rode wireless pro? Or does the Wireless Pro allow setting up timecode on the transmitters / receiver? (Or on a phone app?)

A big plus of the DJI Mic 2 is its ecosystem. It connects seamlessly with action cameras and pocket cameras.

Great review my friend! It’s very interesting how similar it is to the DJI mics
Thanks dude!
Great review thanks for sharing 😊
Great video... the audio quality of this new Saramonic is WAY MORE BETTER than DJI Mic 2! Thanks for this comparison!
I agree 💯

"I could talk to the tree"... now I'm sold to that mic... great review
haha. I found myself talking to the tree
Great review as always. I've been wanting something like this and these look ideal.
How can I test this product

Good review thank you.
You have awesome video quality !! May I know lens that you using to record this video
this was filmed with Lumix S5IIx and Lumix 35mm f1.8 lens
and all the b-roll with Sony a7sIII and Sony 90mm f2.8 macro

will they make a timecode only unit for other cameras, let's say like the deity tc-1 that works in the same system?
thank you for your introduction
thank you for watching
oooooohhhhhhhhh, great review pal, but I have more wireless mic's than plates in my cupboards, but still tempted !
Thanks Lee. You can try mine any time

Unprocessed raw audio from a high end microphone usually sounds flat, it lends to better post.
yes but these are $269 microphones for people who most likely will not want to edit audio after recording it
Noise cancellation makes your audio pretty bad sounding 😞
Rest looks really good.
I had pre-production firmware on there. Waaay better after updating

are you sure about it?
I have 3 different Saramonic mics and I can't see any latency

Not sure about this one, Not much less than the already proven DJI system... But glad there is competition out there.
Your first sentence said it all 😂
there is so many different wireless microphone systems on the market. There is

Does S5IIX accept the timecode?
Can it connect via Bluetooth like DJI?
The biggest disadvantage compared with DJI is, it has no supported ecosystem.
S5IIx doesn't but GH6/7 and S1H do

@@marinrealestatephotography that's only one of the 5 time code modes that does this
Rode pro wireless sounds better and has timecode for more professional use..

So big
5 times bigger than Rode mics
