Great video. To avoid making a mess with putting the lip gloss in the tubes, use a bigger syringe (60 ml) & attach a 3 ml pipette to tip of the syringe. This will also help with filling the gloss tubes faster. To get rid of the bubbles in your gloss, fill the syringe half way with gloss, push the plunger slowly into the barrel until it touches the gloss. Pull the plunger back up a little then back down. This pushes out the air and the bubbles should be gone. I have been making gloss for two years and had the same issue. Hope this helped. 🙂
@@TaraLeee great video Tara! Great choice of colors as well! As for the pigment IMHO less is best you can always add but you can't take out...for me personally for someone who's pushing 60 next year i like to stay with earth tones especially during the summer cause I do tan well! Cherokee definitely comes out in my skin tone!
Hey Tara, I was wondering, how do you know if an ingredient is heat sensitive ? And how do you know which phase you should add an ingredient in when formulating. I have been inspired to start my own skincare brand and you videos have really been helping me ☺️. Thank you for all the information you provide.
Thanks for sharing. I love making gloss and from my experience cutting a pipette and sliding it on the syringe helps with putting the gloss in the tube. Good content.
This video has perfect timing im working on adding lip gloss to my line, and I've been experimenting since you posted about TKB, and I found that I like the feel and look of the thicker gloss; as a result, I just had to accept that it will take some work to get in the syringe then in the tube 🤣🤣. I guess it's based on your preference. I also love the different color combos you created. Gorgeous 🤗🥰
Could you do a video explaining how we should be putting our ingredients on the product packaging or website for lipgloss? Especially when it comes to pigments, I get so confused
A very decent classy video. Others I have been on were showing more ghetto like stuff just to promote the lip gloss. This is straight forward and clean
Hey Tara! Loved the video. I do have a request though. Do you think maybe you could prepare a more "natural" gloss base with waxes, butters, and carrier oils? I can't seem to find the versagel anywhere near me so I make my own base but I just can't seem to get the right concoction and I really hope you could maybe try and make a gloss base. Thanks a lot. Much love!
Ty for this video. Lots of girls in our family and we all like our lip gloss. Couple questions How long will this be safe wo a preservative? The last ones I made with TKB base separated in 2 months . Would you ever use a preservative in this product? I may have missed but do you add a sweetener? I seen that Brambleberry carries it but not WSP-haven’t checked yet TKB. still new at this . Sooo much to learn. Ty in advance-I know you are a busy lady
Hey,👋I don’t know if you’re gonna see this comment,But I hope you do I just wanted to say THANK YOU!.You have helped me so much in my formulating journey.Your videos make my day (Whenever you post) and so like I said thank you.😊Also I have a video idea,I would love to see a video about taxes (I know that it is different in every state and country) but I would love to see a video about that.
Hi there!! I’m so glad you enjoy my videos so much! That’s means a lot to me 🥰 I’ve been wanting to do a video on taxes, so I’ll be sure to do that sometime.
hello Tara, I have a question, when buying caprylic capric triglyceride I'm seeing it's like a MCT OIL using your link above. Is that what it is or is it any oil that contends caprylic capric triglyceride??
Hey Tara! I wanted to know what the flat little plastic bowls you use to put your powdered ingredients on are called or where you get them? I have never seen you add that equipment on the list you normally give.
Hi Tara, thank you for the video. I was wondering whether your formulations would be okay for UK market? as I know the FDA is a lot more relaxed when it comes to cosmetics whereas in the uk products have to be tested first and pass to be able to sell on the market
This is amazing. I used their base (well my daughter did) for some lip gloss. We chose to make them transparent on the lips and used mica powders instead. We have a couple other bases we want to try out though. She wants to build her own line called GG sparkle beauty but I've been working on getting inventory for my sublimation business. I have her watching your videos for tips and to learn more. I know enough to get her started but she's on youtube all the time anyway
I’m having the hardest time putting a recipe like this into a formula with percentages, since every gloss will vary in terms of colours. Any tips on how you’d take one of these colour recipes you listed turn it into a formula?
How do you clean your beakers and materials afterward? I tried using super hot water and soap (after wiping everything down with paper towels) but everything is still sooo sticky! Any advice?
It is an oil based recipe so it wouldnt need a preservative. Also coconut oil isnt a preservative. What you need however to extend the shelf life of the product is add an antioxidant such as vitamin E oil. Vegetable glycerin is water based so please do not add that. If you do want to try doing more research on adding it to lipgloss. There are also a wide variety of oils you can choose from.
@@Rosyajk if it says it contains water then it does. Since it contains water then a preservative is definitely needed. However ive never seen a flavour oil with water, so you could maybe try checking other places for water free flavour oils.
I'm pretty much down packed on my ingredients supplies. But as a new and solo entrepreneur in starting my business, I can't seem to find a vendor that is willing to supply me with 400 tubes. I was told by one that their lowest quantity is 20,000 tubes. And the other one said 10,000....I don't want cheap clear plastic tubes, I keep trying to find a way to create my own custom bottles. I have the design format but can't find a vendor. I’m looking to get custom designed squeeze tubes. Do you have any suggestions as far as the bottles/tubes go. It's not to say that in the future I wouldn't make bigger order, I definitely will, but | just can't seem to work that out financially while having paid for a trademark, supplies and equipment/ filling machine. Would really appreciate if you could give me any insight or websites to give my inquiry to. Thank you.
Yes! I have had the hardest time finding a truly Mauve Nude! Either too brown, or too pink.. But you've done it!!

Is the Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride just fractionated coconut oil? Which recipe would you use as a baseline for one with no colour?
Can you use essential oils with this lip base
When I tell you I was waiting for this video!!! Thank you bc I know when you create it’s legit
I never heard of the Triglyceride ingredient I need to look into that.
So happy to your lip gloss video! Beautiful colors! Will definitely make a purchase. Will you sale lip gloss in your shop?

Hello, if I may ask how much lipgloss(15ml) can be made with 1.6 kg TKB lipgloss base?
Hi Tara! appreciate the videos. What would be batch amount to make for 30 tubes of one shade????
witch kind of lip base shall i use from TKB
I’m so excited!!
If your adding your own oils do you need a preservative
Great, but if I want to make a large quantity, what is the method?
can you make perfume?
How do you know exactly how many grams of each product / oil you are using?
How do you clean your beakers and materials afterward? I tried using super hot water and soap (after wiping everything down with paper towels) but everything is still sooo sticky! Any advice?
do you have Formulation for Lipgloss base only?not TKB GLoss base?

Make a video on "formulation of dishwashing liquid or bar"
I’ve never thought about making that, but I’ll keep it in mind.

Ah so no preservatives are needed when making a simple lipgloss with no water based ingredients? Love your videos new subscriber here!❤️
I have the same question 😅
The preservatives are premixed in the lipgloss base
Where can I find anhydrous flavor oils? I've ordered so many & they're all water or alcohol based...
What does the triglyceride do ?
Great video but I was hoping you would have incorporated volllip in this recipe.
Coming soon 😉 wanted to do more simple ones first
How would you make these matte?

How do u get ride of air bubbles I have hard time getting ride of it ?

You have to pump the wand a few times and as you are filling it up do it slowly.
