Not easy to travel in a big group and yes, taxi is very expensive. My wife was sent to work there for two weeks (April 19- May 2), we were able to see other cities, such as Kyoto, Nagoya, Utsunomiyia, and other vicinities. Luckily, most of our expenses were being paid for by my wife's company. We love Japan.
