CytoSMART and KNIME: automated spheroid imaging and analysis

Spheroids are helpful in e.g. testing of new potential drugs, but their handling is less standardized compared to the handling of 2D cell culture. To eliminate variation and subjectivity in spheroid culturing, CytoSMART and KNIME have teamed up for a proof-of-concept project that establishes an automated imaging and analysis pipeline - also suitable for end-to-end lab digitalization and automation - to classify whether spheroids in culture plates are ready for further experiments.
