Let's explore the waters west of the beach of Genn'e Mari ("door to the sea") until you see the statue of Christ in Torre delle Stelle.
It is 7 meters deep and in apnea we can only touch it because of the water pressure.
Live it seemed smaller than in the photos that are online, but the effect is due to the depth at which it is located.
The Christ of Torre delle Stelle:
The statue of Christ was made in sandstone by Franco Congiu, who, with the intention of combining art and passion, wanted to create a suggestive sculpture, a Christ who looks upwards from below to welcome the diver, to accompany him with his gaze, to invite him to always hold up the hope and joy of living, trusting in the help that comes from above.
A Christ who holds 5 loaves and 2 fish in his hands, reminding us that He, as he did two thousand years ago, can still make multiplication today and assure us of support and strength, multiplying courage and enthusiasm in us.
A Christ who draws around him, those who live the sea for passion, for hobby, for leisure or for work, promoting the renewal of faith in him and the sense of thanks for all that beautiful and good he has entrusted to us as created, to love it, protect it, respect it and take care of it, ensuring our utmost commitment, so that over time, the sea continues to arouse serenity, joy, emotion, pleasure of life.

Every summer, early August, divers, believers, curious and passionate, gather on the beach of Torre delle Stelle, a beautiful location in the province of Cagliari, in Sardinia, to attend the feast of Christ which, in addition to being a now customary event , carries with it a "deep" meaning, which leads the sea lover to persevere in his passion, but also to transform his normal "marine" experience, into an authentic religious experience.
Genn'e Mari beach:
The beach of Genn'e Mari ("gateway to the sea"), together with the beach of Cann’e Sisa, adorn the two coves of the enchanting promontory of Torre delle Stelle.
This tourist resort is located in the south-eastern coast of Sardinia, between Cagliari and Villasimius, and falls partly in the municipality of Maracalagonis and partly in that of Sinnai.
The beach just 500 meters long is composed of white and medium-grained sand, and is bathed in clear and crystalline waters.
Its depths are shallow and slowly descend, making this location suitable for families with children or simply to enjoy the well-deserved relaxation after a year of work.
It is very pleasant to walk on its beach which, as in most of the beaches on the coast west of Capo Carbonara, has a bottom consisting of white sand with golden reflections.
The beach is located in an inlet and is bordered on both sides by enchanting granite cliffs covered by thick vegetation, with the inevitable villas that characterize the area behind it.
The cliffs to the east are low and explorable, while the cliffs to the west quickly become high and there is an area where you can dive, which we will see in the next video.
On the beach there is an establishment, a rescue service and a bar.
Parking is free but limited, so early arrivals are a must!
Curiosity:
Torre delle Stelle is one of the favorite tourist locations of the people of Cagliari who, in fact, own most of the villas surrounded by greenery built in the area.
This resort was chosen by the VIP Pippo Baudo as his summer residence, in fact it has a large villa with a swimming pool overlooking the cliffs
