In Malaysia, they don’t always use standard words for names. More for how it sounds. So Dimsum and Timsum are the same in this case. The dessert that you chose, the first one “Golden Yolk” bun is made of salted egg yolk and custard. The second one is sweet corn cream bun. And the last one which I suspect you loved the most is called egg tart (made of eggs, mjölk and custard) and it originated from Portugal, which is usually called Portuguese egg tart when the top layer has been flambéd (flamberad) to get that caramel top but for this dim sum, it is not flambéd. ☺️😊
Thank you Vincent for this informative comment. Yes the egg tart was delicious but the other ones were good as well. We loved the experience of dim sum/tim sum and will eat it again. Where are you from? Thank you for your support, hope we’ll see more of you here. 🙏❤️🇲🇾
@@dananna8614Var så god och välkommen till Malaysia ❤️🇲🇾 Do try as many different local food as you can. Malaysia is a melting pot of many cultures so you will find variations of food from different places and some have become distinctively Malaysian dishes like nasi lemak, asam laksa, char kuey teow and many more. Is this dimsum place in Penang? I am originally from Malaysia. I just found your channel today so you will find me here more often ☺️😊 May I ask, where are you right now? So I can give some suggestions as to which local eateries you can visit
@@vincenthemma Thank you 🙏 so much for your support to our channel. ❤️🙏 We have noticed the variety of food and culture and it’s amazing 🤩 have tried Nasi Lemak several times but find it a bit difficult because of the many dishes to choose from, which one taste good with the others? But we take the chance and eat up every time 😂 Be sure to watch out our other videos from Malaysia 🇲🇾 and Thailand too.
@@dananna8614Good idea! I think it’s more fun to take your chance and discover new tastes! And also, it’s good for your channel not knowing beforehand what you’re eating 😂 It’s the figuring out that is interesting.
Oh by the way, it’s customary to have an additional cup for Chinese tea drinking. Anna was right and spot-on when she said the extra one is for it to cool down and then you can pour that to your own cup so it’s not so hot. Some Chinese restaurants have different varieties of Chinese tea to choose from but I am happy you like it. The buns, most people like to peel of the top layer but there are also some who like to eat it so it’s entirely up to you 😉
Yea because the tea is so spiking hot you can’t drink it right away. Thank you again for all your help and support Vincent, we really appreciate it. ❤️🙏🇲🇾
They usually give you an extra tea cup for you to cool it down first before consuming. And I must say you guys made some great selection on the types of dim sum offered there. Great work!😊👍
It's simply refreshing to have Chinese "Dim-Sum/Tim-Sum" ( juz continental-phonetics amongst the dialectical Cantonese origins fr Hongkong, China, Singapore, my country Malaysia+ other south eastern asian countries for breakfast & brunch.. similar to having tea + snack time . Some restaurants can serve a menu of up to 99 small dishes of such snacks & hot drinks! Bona Petite, enjoy while u may when in Georgetown! ...that's our welcoming cuisine culture!..luv u both.
Could not identify all the savoury dim sums you had. But the one identified by the lady is called “har gao”, usually a shrimp and meat dumpling. The one with yellow skin is called shumai, usually a mince of meat and shrimp or fish. The one with skewer and curry is called fish ball, or “yu dan” which is very common in Hong Kong. The dim sum with green vegetables is called scallion dumpling, usually containing Chinese chives, similar taste to leek identified by Anna and meat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The other ones I am not sure 😅
Anna dear, U may not have busted Ur knee. Humidity has been terrible lately n it may have given u rheumatism. Try applying plaster. Eating ginger n chilli also helps. All d Indian stalls have ginger tea or teh halia. I remember Scandinavia is v dry n my aches disappeared.
@@maocat6606 thank you for your advice. We drink ginger tea every evening it’s good and healthy. My knee is getting better and the doctor said I just need to rest it.

Enjoyed watching you both enjoying the Dim Sums. The last one Dan ate is Egg tart, the yellow filling inside.
We really had a great time there. That egg tart was so sweet and nice 👍🏻 thank you for your comment
Dim sum is cantonese cuisine. Delicious. It means "touch the heart"

After eating dim sum, you hv to hike the mountain again
Hike along the streets anyway 🤣
Dip in 3 to 4 sauces eg
1. Hoi sin sauce
2. Black vinegar
3. Chilli sauce or
4. Soy sauce
Will try that next time 🥢
@@dananna8614 just ask them which sauce is good for which dish. Usually chee cheong fun is good in soy sauce. Fried dumpling in black vinegar/ginger.
@@keangwooichoo6138 we saw fried dumplings but was to full to eat more. Thank you for your support Keang👍🏻❤️

As for the bun or pao...there is a unique type we called salty watery batter.....try it next time
You two sure know how to enjoy Dim Sum 😊
So fun to finally get to try it 😋
Egg tart sometimes called Portuguese Tart
Is it from Portugal?
The Portuguese brought the recipe to Macau Malacca yes

Mostly prawn, crab, pork or chicken
Nice 👍🏻
When I was younger, I can eat 4 to 5 bamboo baskets of dim sum
Oh that’s a lot.
Wow looks delicious hope both of u enjoy the food (dim sum). Which city or town is this? Peel the pau skin and dont eat the skin 😁

I think at penang,maybe.
Pulau pinang kot.
Yellow stuff is called Portuguese Tart
Thank you 🙏
it's not a good idea the both of you leaving your table at the same time in a crowded place, somebody else might take your table
In this place the guest was shown to their table so it was not a problem here but thank you so much for the advice 👍🏻😀
It is a breakfast.
Do Chinese people eat breakfast late?
Lift the lid of the teapot and set aside then the waiter/waitress will refill hot water for you
Aha thank you Raymond for your advice 👍🏻❤️
You did not eat dim sum is Norway, Sweden?
No never tried it before, so glad we finally got to do that and in a perfect place like this.
Dim sum has chicken feet too lol
And we do like those, so next time we try it.
Tak best sangat...
You don’t like dim sum!
