  • You must be thinking I am too crazy for Falooda, yes, I am. This is the only dessert that cool me down quickly during summer when it reaches 100F here in Florida.

    Thank you for explaining what Sev is. I've seen it in other Indian recipes, but never knew exactly what it was, until you said that is was essentially small pasta. I have to add that I never attempted Indian cooking until I watched you, so thanks for that too.

    Yummy. But making all those things from scratch is a pain.
    Jelly I can buy at the store check
    Ice cream check
    I can use milkmaid condensed milk check
    cut fruits check.
    Only thing I need to do is soak the basil seeds.

    Hi Bhavna thank u so much for all the amazing recipes and videos, I am looking for a flop proof jalebi recipe please, I have tried so many different types with no success 😭😭😭we here in south africa are used to a fermented jalebi dough available at all sweetmeat shops here, it's adding water to flour to and leaving it for 3 days or more. I believe the recipe has originated among the gujurati speaking people in India. Please assist by sourcing it. God bless ❤💙💚💛💜✌

    Just a couple of points, from a falooda lover in India:
    1. Tukmaria/sweet basil seeds are NOT the same as chia seeds. Chia seeds can be had in large quantities, but basil seeds are good for health only in small quantities.
    2. Falooda sev is not the same as vermicelli. Vermicelli will make the falooda too heavy. Falooda sev is very thin and delicate, closer to what is known as 'glass noodles'. Alternatively, one can roast the vermicelli before cooking.
    3. This recipe seems to be a cross between the North Indian falooda which uses rose milk and the South Indian falooda which mainly uses fruit. Just a fun fact :)
    It's a good recipe overall :)

    • @Bhavnaskitchen
      @Bhavnaskitchen  8 лет назад +1

      +Anjana Suresh agree but I did not say chia seeds are same as tukmaria, I suggested alternatives.
      As far as Falooda sev, I agree but not everybody has access to it so again I suggested.
      Thanks for sharing
