It is AWESOME YOU and your wife are working on it together. I LOVE that she is with you camping, and you can keep each other warm. MY wife loves the outdoors just as much as I do. I think it is SO AWESOME OUR WIFES WILL GO WITH US, IT JUST MAKES IT SO MUCH NICER TO HAVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE TO HELP KEEP YOU WARM AND COOKS WITH YOU.... GOD BLESS YOU TWO, I PRAY YOU TWO HAVE A WOUNDERFUL TIME TOGETHER. And I hope we will see more of you 2 camping together
Enjoying the outdoors together has been a huge blessing, most of our favorite memories have been when we're outdoors. I hope you and your wife enjoy many more adventures together. And you will see more of us, we'll be doing this for a long time. Thanks for watching Allen!
I think it's so cool you got your pretty girl out there and involved and she seems to love it as well! Make those memories and enjoy each other. I'm jealous lol.
This episode was very, very cool. I watch a lot of videos like this and the shelter you built here is totally different and very awesome. I really like what you did here. Also I was wondering where you were at I’m guessing Utah or Colorado. I’m from around those areas and it looks very similar to a lot of things that I’m used to. That little river that’s right below you that was just too cool also. Very relaxing well at the same time showing your skills as a shelter builder. There’s just something about your Guys‘s videos. I just really enjoy. Plus you guys are a cute couple. Anyway, I look forward to some more videos soon so until then stay blessed. Thank you.
Thanks Randee! Yup this is in Utah. The river was nice, I was originally hoping to fish when I first got there, but decided to do a more significant shelter instead and ran out of time. I'm glad you enjoyed it and we'll have more coming soon. We're going to have a really busy winter!
@ good to hear, I love your channel. And that your doing this close to home even makes it more special. The fall leaves on the trees brought back fond memories. North west Colorado is home but spent tons of time in Utah. Love Moab and the Arches. But wish I spent more time in northern Utah. I’d give anything to move back home…….. anyway love the scenery, the Different camps and shelters being built. Just an awesome channel with very awesome hosts…….👍🏻
The wooden pegs are a nice touch. People used to use them a lot. Now, not so much. I know that you use muscles you didn't know you had when you do some of this. 🙂It looks like it might get drafty in there.
They are, I definitely like the finished product with them but they were a lot harder than nails or screws that's for sure. And yes, building this was like going to some training camp, it definitely toned me up lol. It does get drafty, I'm going to stuff some pine boughs in the roof the next time we camp there and that will get rid of the drafts.
Thanks Maryann 🙏 greetings from the USA! We're planning to visit Canada next year. If all goes to plan you'll see us make a lot of content from your home country
I love you guys as a couple. Just wish I could have found such adventures young lady. But could find one. So I envy you and very very proud of you. Excellent build by the way. Just wish I could get out there and have fun. But you make it a realistic adventure when others fake their crap 💩. SEMPER FI
Thank you 🙏 I'm lucky that I did, finding her has been the greatest blessing in my life. Make yourself get out there and have some fun. When I think back on memories of my life those are the only times when I've felt like I was actually alive and experiencing life. And thank you for your service!
I'm going to fill them with pine boughs the next time we're there. There's a lot of mice and they'd steal all the wool. And there are some bears in the area but they're very rare. Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
Great video! nice to see your both so happy out in the wild.. would it be possible to block those draughty gaps? look forward to the next one, take care
Thanks! Yeah I think we'll fill the gaps with some pine boughs and maybe even lay some large ones on top of the walls. It should work well to insulate it
In my experience she's one of a kind. So I snatched her up and there's none left. And it is nice, she helps a lot. It's what she likes to do for fun too so it makes the whole experience fun and memorable
We did use some but they're ultralight so not that thick. I wish we gathered more pine boughs but there's always not enough time to get everything done that we want to. They were surprisingly soft under the wool blanket and with a couple more hours of gathering we could've made an extremely nice bed using just those.
Thank you for your response, yeah I hear you! all natural! what would of made this video great, is if you used all hand tools, for survive sake! people like me like to see the intricacy of how to use hand tools, especially in a survival mode or building a small home by just using hand tools! it's like we live though you, by your experience ruffing it in the woods, the freedom of living in the woods! no gas tools or electric tools, just good hard work! and a good hot cup of coffee, a nice fire! and just relax, looking at nature! chilling out around a nice fire! and your love one's too! Jesus saves!
Of course. Yeah I started with very basic hand tools for the first day but progress was so slow, it was going to take me a month to do this with the hand tools I had. And I didn't have a month available. For more basic shelters especially when using a tarp I'll be using hand tools. I plan to do a few like that this winter.
Very impressive but I think a bushcraft survival shelter is to be built in 10 hours, not in 10 days, if you really want to survive. Anyways, I understand this is a bushcradft shelter for others in peril, not for the builders themselves.
haha I used a bunch in this video. Most of them are gransfors bruks but the one at the end when splitting wood is a kharkivforge/fadir from Ukraine. The cheapest place to find Gransfors is Lamnia and Kharkivforge/fadir is Etsy. I love every axe I have from those two makers.
I will hang one up on the inside if it's a really rainy and windy day. None got through when it rained on us but I'm sure wind will blow it through the gaps.
What do you think we should do to improve the shelter the next time we camp here?
@@2withnature it's perfect, just enjoy it!! Cheers
Windows ❤😉. What a cozy little spot🎉
if you have the choice to make it little big, dont make it tight, also a wood storage for fire.
@@tinapellegrino2507 We definitely will! Cheers 🙂
@@ceciliacrocker390 That was my original plan, but I ran out of time. I could probably add some though, just wooden ones that swing open

Yup, half the reason I do it is because she wants to do it with me. That's what life's all about.
Another good video. Ok after all these cold ones, she deserves a "camping on a warm sunny deserted beach" video! 😋
Haha! You're right, she has earned that
Love your adventures!! You will have so many beautiful memories. Aaron you seem like a natural builder. It's amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing🌲
Thanks Hazell! Glad you enjoyed and I feel fortunate to be able to share it 🙂
You are so lucky that you get to do this! This would be so fun to do. You guys work well together and thanks for sharing this experience.
We agree 🙂 We're happy to and we appreciate you watching!
I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you, my friend.
Glad you liked it! 🙂 thanks for watching!
Excellent! Dick Proenneke would be proud.
You guys are some of the best content RUclips has to offer.
Thank you! It means a lot. Building is a lot of work lol Proenneke made it look too easy!
Yall are cute, I love watching outdoor stuff like this. I can't get out and do this stuff as often anymore too many hobbies as is :).
Thanks, and glad you liked it! There's never enough time to focus on all the hobbies. Good thing there's RUclips!

Thank you it means a lot! We'll be doing videos in UT all winter, so a lot more to come.
Good job ! Perfect video with nice shelter
Thank you very much! It's definitely a lot of work.

You're so blessed ❤ I enjoyed watching, ty for sharing
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching 🙏
Thanks for good video. Jesus bless you!
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching 🙂
You built once again a very cool shelter... Cheers and stay safe 😊
Thanks, cheers, and stay warm this winter!
Very cool video dude. Next time your up there be cool if you built a small firewood storage and maybe a table for food prep and gutting fish.
That is a good idea. It would definitely make the place more comfy
You guys are awesome keep it up God bless you
Thank you very much! God bless
My favorite adventurous couple at it again and I love it.❤
Us too! 🙂
Thank you for the enjoyable video.❤❤❤
My pleasure! Thank you always 🙂
Awesome vid my friends !!!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching Brian 🙏
Fill the cracks with rolled wool. It will raise the inside temperature. I like the shelter. Do you have many bears in your area?
I'm going to fill them with pine boughs the next time we're there. There's a lot of mice and they'd steal all the wool. And there are some bears in the area but they're very rare.
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
You should make a homestead. It would be a cool series to watch
We want to and plan to, once we find an area that we want to settle. Hopefully within a year or two, but it's in the plans.
Always inspiring and lovely video and builds
Glad you think so!
Oh man you're just awesome, keep it up please
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! We'll have a lot more this winter.
A Breath of Fresh Air!! Thanks

I enjoyed watching the video. How cute your wife is ! From Japan.
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you, I feel the same 🙂 Greetings from USA!

New subscriber, Loved the video
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the sub 🙂
Love from lndonesia 😍😍😍
🙂 Best regards from the USA!
What an awesome man you are!
I agree! 😉
Nice video
Glad you liked it!
That must be one of the cold shelters man improved 12 000 years ago.
Well it got the job done! It's super strong too
You should bring a roll of insulating wool to place in the cracks. Then you will be very warm in the snow.
I'm thinking I'll put pine boughs in the cracks to insulate and block any wind. I wanted the challenge of only using materials found at the site.
Outstanding
Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Where did you find her and are there more like her out there. That's really nice to see a woman out helping do stuff or doing stuff out at all
In my experience she's one of a kind. So I snatched her up and there's none left. And it is nice, she helps a lot. It's what she likes to do for fun too so it makes the whole experience fun and memorable
@2withnature
That's amazing.
My likes to bitch and blame me for literally everything
cool 👍
Thank you 🙏
Parabéns. Brasil.
obrigado
Where'd you get that auger!???? Me need! lol Thanks for the video. Awesome stuff
amazon. Not gonna lie they take a lot of work. But their relatively small size makes up for it
They're called scotch eye augers
I like a little brown sugar in my pine tea. 😋
We haven't tried that yet, I thought the flavors would clash. But I'll try it next time.
Very very good good job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Guys, epic video :) hot water bottles in bottom of sleeping bag before you get in bed. keep your feets toastie :) cant wait to see more :)
Thank you 🙂 we do that trick, but it was so warm in the shelter that we had our bags unzipped and open all night
Awesome!
🙂 thanks for watching!
I subbed and 👍
Thank you sir 🙏
woa wood good
Thanks
Çok iyi, güzel🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
teşekkür ederim arkadaşım
Утеплить. 🎉🎉🎉
да, нам нужно сделать это в следующий раз, когда мы разобьем там лагерь
That is a good woman lucky man
I agree! x2
Get an air mattress inflatable so much more comfortable and wrap it with layers tarp
We did use some but they're ultralight so not that thick. I wish we gathered more pine boughs but there's always not enough time to get everything done that we want to. They were surprisingly soft under the wool blanket and with a couple more hours of gathering we could've made an extremely nice bed using just those.
if you were going hi tech, a tarp would have been great for the inside as walls? but good job!
It was my original plan but I thought it would be a good challenge to do without it. Thanks for watching!

Should only be done if you own the property. Otherwise, campers should leave no trace that they were ever there.
Needs a front roof so you open the door when it’s raining and snowing
Yup I definitely should've thought of that
This shelter could be considered bear proof. But it was built leaning against a tree, which we can consider a natural lightning rod?
I guess if a big lightning storm comes through while I'm there I can cut off the top of the tree. Problem solved
Very impressive but I think a bushcraft survival shelter is to be built in 10 hours, not in 10 days, if you really want to survive. Anyways, I understand this is a bushcradft shelter for others in peril, not for the builders themselves.
It was my initial intention to do that and use a tarp but the spot was so nice I decided to make it a little more robust and lasting
10 days work for a not very big shelter
It's hard to build big shelters without ladders
Looks pretty shakey.....
No this was rock solid by the end
what is the brand of the hatchet or axe that you're using
haha I used a bunch in this video. Most of them are gransfors bruks but the one at the end when splitting wood is a kharkivforge/fadir from Ukraine. The cheapest place to find Gransfors is Lamnia and Kharkivforge/fadir is Etsy. I love every axe I have from those two makers.
Nevermind the log cabin. Whats more impressive is that he got a black woman out in the woods camping!😂
Thanks God who created brain so human being can created anything
Indeed. It keeps life fun and interesting
👍👍
🙏🙏
Why not fill all the gaps in the logs with Great Stuff expandable foam. There are far too many drafts
I'm planning to fill the gaps with pine boughs the next time I camp there
✌️
👋
😊
👍
Are you going to fill in the cracks with moss or insulation?
I'll probably fill it with some pine boughs the next time I camp there
That was a a lot of work for such a tiny space. Build bigger and use power tools.
Yeah I wish I made it about a foot wider and the vestibule about twice as big. First time though, now I know 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Para melhorar, espuma expansiva nas frestas e uma lona plástico na cumeeira.
sim, eu só queria tentar obter tudo da natureza
Need to add on
add on what
Don’t you want shelter wider?
It would've been nice but the larger the space the colder it is inside
This episode should have been called "No spatula, no problem".
Next time I'll make the coffee grinder out of wood too lol
Bears smell steaks 5 miles away
Then they must love us cuz our steak smells awesome
TARP
I will hang one up on the inside if it's a really rainy and windy day. None got through when it rained on us but I'm sure wind will blow it through the gaps.
👍🥰🥰👍💕💕💕🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
🙂🙏🏕️
It's not a survival shelter if you preemptively built it and it took 10 days.

Hello
Hello 👋
You have a beautiful girlfriend.
Thank you 🙂
Way too much work!!
lol you don't know the half of it
A lot of speak
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
