"I want our baby's name to mean something..."
"Appa."
i'm sorry that fucking killed me
A friend of mine said the exact same thing the first time he saw that scene, made me laugh so hard to see him do the same thing
Remember what the swamp guy said everyone and everything is connected.
That’s the same pregnant couple zuko almost robbed in the episode when he was alone. The woman was sick up against a tree and the husband was feeding her food. They’re also drawn the exact same way. And zuko and iroh ran into jet who all three have met team avatar. Also we ran into the cabbage guy a again.
Remember what the swamp guy said everyone and everything is connected.
My favorite thing about Sokka is the fact that he really is HIGHLY intelligent, yet somehow hes also dumb as all hell sometimes 😂
Intelligence vs Wisdom
@@eKalb33naa
Intelligent people generally tend to wind up somewhere further on the spectrum of weird/eccentric
He can just lack common sense, but he’s still wise.
@@dr.j7542tbf sokka seems neurotypical, just socially inexperienced, a little immature and headstrong from 14ish years many of them being the “man” in an isolated community
He’s smart but he’s not wise 😂
I love how if you pause at the right time you can actually see a cabbage slug.
Invasive slugs are a pain.
Darn spanish murder slugs hitched a ride to Sweden, and refuse to go away.
Oh my god where and when!?
Fun Fact, if you slow down and rewatch the scene where Cabbage Man’s cabbage cart gets destroyed there are actually a few slugs that fly out meaning if he sold those cabbages in Ba Sing Se he could have disrupted the natural order and introduced an invasive species
Or they're just pieces of cabbage
@@thefactspherefromportal2740no
Oh my god when!?
Props to Katara for staying so strong in the desert while being dehydrated (notice how she doesn't drink any of the water, and is willing to give up her only means of defence so her friends can drink) and exhausted herself, and gets no on-screen thanks for it. Here she's still immensely supportive of Aang, and freakin MIDWIFES for goodness sake. Someone give Katara a big hug.
I love how Toph is low-key Momo's favourite human, when he got scared of the serpent, Toph was the one he went to.
Toph really pulled a "my emotional support animal" at an airport moment lololz.
Actually they all hide behind Toph at various moments because she doesn't scare easily. There are a lot of funny moments when everyone is freaking out and Toph is just standing there stone-faced (pun realized, but not intended.)
I was gonna say, that's not just Momo. Toph is the best defensive player on the team. She had everybody covered that episode, even when under the water. If you're going to hide behind somebody, Toph is your best bet for survival.
I might argue for Aang in his avatar state, but he might be just as dangerous.
@@joegoodman8213 Unless of course, she's standing on sand, fur, ice, in water, in the air, or literally anything that has no connection to the Earth. lol!
@@LionManatic There are always exceptions 😅
[SPOILERS!!!]
6:24 the absolutely insane CACKLE i let out at this unintentional foreshadowing-
Right?!??!!!
The Boulder is not the one chasing toph. It's Xin Fu and the teacher
“The boulder agrees with your statement and admits that he isn’t after The Blind Bandit right now. The Boulder travels with the Hippo instead.”-the Boulder
One of the most interesting shots in this episode is when Sokka and Suki are about to kiss and we see the moon, aka Yue in the background and then Sokka pulls back, indicating that he still had feelings for her. Took me a while to piece that moment together.
Man really has feelings for the F moon
Really? It's pretty obvious lol
@@erikperhs_ To some, they pick up on it quickly. Doesn’t always work that way to others though.
I saw it more as guilt for moving on.
So for the whole bridge thing, the Fire Nation knows they are there, so they have to stay out of sight as much as possible, hence why Katara did water bubble trick first, to stay hidden and to make it easier to travel with a pregnant woman. They didn't count on Rayquaza showing up🤷♀️
It sensed kyogre and groudon about to clash
Zuko's got a future in hospitality huh?
The couple in this episode are the people Zuko decided not to rob
I think i remember he already robbed before as the blue spirit
If you look closely at the cabbage cart you can see there were indeed Cabbage Slugs hidden in them (hard to spot since they blend in with the cabbages), so the destruction was warranted. Also as someone else said Suki was originally planned to appear only in The Warriors of Kiyoshi but fan popularity brought her back in this episode.
There's a reason Airbenders chose a nomadic and peaceful way of life and their bending style is very evasive and non aggressive.
They understood exactly the kind of power they had.....that said, Aang probably did some un-Airbenderlike things to those sandbenders off srceen😂
Aang could do to anyone what he did to that buzzard-wasp if he so desired. It would be an invisible instant-kill from half a mile away. The Avatar world is lucky Air-benders are gentle monks.
0:39 just in case someone didn’t tell them already, most episodes are a week in difference in the ATLA world so it’s been a week since losing Appa
6:37 everytime I watch this scene, all I can think about playing in the background is "Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars while sokka is staring at Yue
confession: whenever they say their names in the intro and H-man isn't there i say "and im h-man" and now i cant stop. even when i keep shut in my head i say it
Fun Fact these fictional geographic locations are based off of real life locations.
Serpent’s Pass: If you essentially reimagine Little Sark in the Channel Islands, and put that into the largest lake in the world which is the Caspian Sea, you get a great discription of this fictional location.
Taihue Mountains: The Himalaya mountains.
Fire Nation islands: Iceland.
Northpole: Greenland.
Southpole: Antarctica.
Ba Sing Se: Great Wall of China.
The Desert: You could argue that its based off the Sahara desert or Gobi Desert.
4:46 yeah and he also now know that Serpent’s pass is kind of deadly dangerous so he doesn’t wanna see that someone about he care die on his hands *again*
Serpents path is a really good episode idk why but it always stuck out to me and stayed in my head
Its a beautiful episode! Sokka and Suki reunite, Aang gets some of his warmth back after having been so cold ever since Appa got taken, Toph and Katara have a bunch of great moments. Its very "feel good" while still progressing many of the character arcs.
The Serpent’s Pass in my opinion is interesting enough as itself in its geography. It appears that the fictional Serpent’s Pass is basically if you have Little Sark in the Channel Islands and put that in with the largest lake in the real world aka Caspian Sea, you essentially have a real life Serpent’s Pass. The Slither of land is similar to the Little Sark as I said earlier. And given that Sokka refers to the Serpent itself as a “Sea Serpent”, that means the West and East Lakes are actually inland seas and not fresh water lakes. Lake’s aren’t exclusively fresh water surprisingly, they can be inland seas like the Caspian sea, or Black sea. So the West lake is like the Black Sea and the East lake is like the Caspian sea.
6:20 - Just realized Zuko and the Ice Fruit Drink Guy from the Si Wong Desert could team up and start a KILLER hibachi restaurant together, holy shit
6:28 And not just the men, but the women, and the children, too!
I think they went with going under the water instead of ice at first, because Ice is a little dangerous for a pregnant lady.
Well, I think it was because they were trying to sneak across without getting more attention from the Fire Nation. Going under the water would've worked out except for a giant killer seahorse-dragon. Yeah, I made up a name for it.
"The man has a future and hospitality"... Dude, Way to you TEE!! 😂😂😂
1:58 she was right tho, his cabbages had slugs and this could affect the ecosystem of Ba Sing Se, you can see the cabbage's slugs flying over here 2:07
4:37 That's rough, buddy.
Sokka the rizz master
6:31 is H-man’s version of professional just cold and jaded? 😂
3:48 “are you doing ok?”
*I ended a bloodline* “yea”
The drill!!!! It’s the most phallic thing you are ever going to see in the series
7:31 if atla came out today people would be 1000000% pissing their pants about this scene
them saying zuko has a future in hospitality is the funniest thing ever
Time to catch up
2:06 SOMEONE COMMENTED ABOUT THIS ONCE -- THERE _WAS_ A CABBAGE SLUG
Lol true villain
But its like... the first two werent his fault, but THIS
6:20-6:27 he really should
8:58 i was hoping Ruff was gonna point that out 💀😂😂😭
6:26 Little did they know
Minor spoilers from the comics but…
The cabbage man does catch a break, opening his own restaurant and even making piece with Aang and some air nation fan girls, selling them his culinary cabbage creations.
Smellerbee: thanks Longshot, you always know what to say
Longshot: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok Suki, but Sokka was justifiably right in thinking you'd know about serpents since you do live near one.
Feel bad for Toph having to hide the fact the Sokka rizz got to her too.
they didn't separate. Aang just wanted to fly ahead to get a head start on looking for appa.
Aang took out the sandbenders, not just the men, the women and children too!
Bro! A serpent attacking in the thumbnail and Appa is gone!? What's happening!? :O
3:19: YES!!! It would be so annoying though! XD
And from this point on, this show hits the gas and is nothing but peak.😂
I love the ATLA writers sneaking in a low-key trans coded character into a kids cartoon. Love Smellerbee so much. Also I ship her with Longshot lmao
I can't remember, do the boys ever realize that The Boulder is voiced by Mick Foley?
Would anyone like to see Jackie Chan Adventures, Gargoyles, Swat Kats and Transformers Prime on here?
Yes, I would defiantly love to see them on here.
Jackie Chan adventures
Yes
@@jonathanheady8619yes especially cause I want them to experience my favorite line from the show well 3 lol
@@eagleangel5568 "JACKIE ONE MOOORE THING"
Cabbage Guy gonna be on his villain arc. XD
Here they hint at how good they are as a team, next episode we really get to see it
Imagine if at the end, the cabage man turned put to be the firelord xD
6:16 Suko needs to work serving takeout food
They're trying not to draw any attention from the fire nation so they decided to go underwater.
Pretty sure that was the couple that Zuko didn't rob when he was on his own.
What you dont know is Sokka out here a master Backbender
I know korra gets a lot of shit. But i really enjoyed it, and they did a cabbage man joke
Korra is really good. First I didnt like it either, but nowadays I really like it
Korra is ok, it just doesn't live up to its predecessor and has a LOT of missed opportunities...
I honestly cannot stand Korra. There's a few retcons here and there, a bunch of things that did not need to happen, and I was looking at it like it was it's own show and I wasn't comparing it to ATLA at the time because I knew this would've been different and yikesssssssssss. No disrespect but that show is just mmmmmm
Korra is ok. It’s not bad, but it’s not that good in my opinion. There is some stuff I enjoy about it, but it’s kinda few and far in between
I also suggest looking up E;R he's got quite a few good takes on the series. And by good takes, I mean good takes on how it's not good. Like I respect everyone's opinions, you guys can have your own, I'm just saying
Why do they keep calling me billy?😂
Katara's a master now, so she should've known pulling a Moses was not the safest choice lolz.
Lmao not my belongings! That's my favorite stuff!
4:56 Depressed Monks be like:
well. you know the drill, guys.
earthbending would've solved so many problems this episode but hey whatever it takes to reach that 20 minutes
Like what
They were still trying to sneak into Ba Sing Se. Going under the water was a safe way to do that. If they created a bridge it might have attractive attention, and that bridge would've been a pretty poor defense location. They could not have anticipated a giant sea serpent.
Welcome to Ba Sing Se
I don’t know if you guys don’t take requests if you don’t I am sorry for asking but I wanted to see if you guys would watch the dragon prince. It’s a great series and it would make my little brother so happy and put me on a road to nostalgia. It has a lot in common to this series and I thought you would love reacting to it, I love seeing you go down your rabbit holes. Just asking and again sorry for wasting your time
Wait what happened to the rest of the Sandbender episode?
Poor Sokka not over the moon
I'll show myself out
6:23 haha maybe he will
That’s rough buddy
So is the discord like working for any one else
Yea we have over 15,000 members
@@sortastupid I keep getting the this link has expired
She wants a unique name and picks Hope, one of the least unique names ever lol
This is probably one of the lesser episodes but when even one like that is still so entertaining, it just drives home how amazing the series is. It's very necessary for Aang to realize he can't allow personal feelings to have him forsake his duties. Displaced people need an Avatar.
Why didn't they just give the tickets to the pregnant lady and went through the Serpent's Pass by themselves? 🤔
No passports, no tickets!
The drill-do
Papers please avatar version when
Zuko met this couple ealier
Dang I wasn't prepared for this to be the last one on my binge for awhile. Also, we gonna see a Legend of Korra react?
Yo
Yay
Pokemon movie when?
Finally
The words on the bridge are foreshadowing the future for the family. They will abandon their child hope because they dont like her.
