Following 4D, Ohm's remix, and now Clockwork, it's safe to say you have established yourself as a pioneer of this fusion between metal and breakbeat. Made me see you together with greats like The Prodigy, Junkie XL, even Jon Hopkins, with your solo work. Maybe one day we'll see your name under a film/series score credits. In the meantime, waiting patiently for your electronica project, while enjoying the bits and pieces you release along the way. And congratulations on Clockwork to you and everyone involved. Hope you guys continue to get the recognition you deserve
It kills me how much I enjoy at the same time the Discoveries/Singularity era, the Node/Mesmer era, and the era since Alien while them being so different. Unbelievable work, so much inspirational.
Your synth expertise and musicianship never ceases to amaze me. It’s crazy how you can combine these fresh electronic influences to a genre that’s largely stuck in the past. Any chance you’ll release these modular synth ideas separate from Northlane?
Yep after new album I’ll be working on quite a few side project things I’ve been developing in parallel with writing Northlane and hopefully get some of it out before the end of the year
You keep pushing boundaries and coming up with such fresh ideas in your writing. I’ve been listening to Clockwork on repeat all day. You’re a breath of fresh air and inspiration for heavy music sir.
Up the Aussies!🔥🤘🏼🪃🇦🇺I love this kind of stuff as well as being a huge metal fan, gets me so pumped up. Really cool that you're doing this sort of stuff, dude!🔥🤘🏼
Love you work on Northlane dude. You know how to make crazy ambiances, i really admire your work on Node. Thank you for sharing this amazing musicianship!
Jon, honestly, what you are doing is amazing! Mix of low-tuned metalcore, industrial sound and rave synths is breathe of fresh air in the genre. People are praising BTHM and Architects that are doing a good job too, but... They know how to mix ideas to create catchy song, they are extremely good in production, but they work feels like another iteration/evolution of the same ideas that are 10 years around us. Northlane sound is something new and unique. I think it's kinda new approach, which could start a new age for metal music like nu-metal 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure in the next 2-3 years many band will start adopt your ideas.
I can definitely see a couple of bands trying to rip-off Alien and future northlane, although i think industrial/synthy influances are cool as hell. Its all about being creative and not letting the trends tell you what to write ( sorry im not jon, but that’s what i think !)
This sounds amazing Jon! So inspiring It would be amazing to know how to start getting into using these synths and where to start with building a Eurorack
Would absolutely love to hear what you could conjure up with some Noise Engineering modules haha Took the plunge into modular about 2 years ago and never looked back, super stoked to hear you use it in Northlane stuff!
Jon you're so inspiring! Sick instrumentation, mindblowing ideas! I kinda feel your influence by electronic but (correct me if i'm wrong) expecially by Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit (expecially in sound creativity) 🤘
@@jonathondeiley You're welcome! And yes, probably i express myself badly, i meant in terms of creativity in sound itself, as Wes was one of the sound's revolutionaries in metal, and you're one of them imho Anyway, keep going like that, i'm more and more curious to listen new stuff from you and Northlane! :)
Sick one mate, which VCO is the phat lead sequence? And did you use Beads just for the ambient drone in the back? Really thinking of getting Beads. Can't wait for Clockwork tomorrow, Cheers!
jon, you’re an incredible musician, you’re always pushing so many boundaries - love you
it takes balls to bring something new and fresh sounding like clockwork, especially in the metal/metalcore genre, fucking love your work man !

Oh you sly dog. Love it!!!
I absolutely love it!
Jon, hey! Outro for CLKWRK could also be done on this setup, right?
Alien 2.0
Are they’re any good plug ins that could get this same sort of electronic effects? I love how this sounds!
I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIMEEEEE
This is truly amazing… don’t know what this thing is but it looks sophisticated as hell… not sure i could work one of these even if i tried 😶🌫️
Love the work you guys do. Any recommendations for a beginner synth board/software?
This is top tier 😩🤯
Wow incredible! Is Chainsaw doing both lead and bass?
Master 🔥🤘🏻
Nice lockdown Rave! Greetings from munich!

Chainsaw. And that same seq recorded into beads and frozen and just scanning through all those moments between notes changing
@@jonathondeiley Thanks! Chainsaw is really one hell of a VCO. I see what you did there with the new single.
When you write a northlane song, do you First come up with the guitar melody or the synth stuff?
depends, I always have to go off atmosphere which these days is a lot of electronic shit
Yeah youre right. Makes the songs always a lot More interesting and remarkable :) love clockwork
🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏻
I want one
I don't understand this at all but its so fucking cool, love you and love Northlane🔥🤘👽
🔥🔥🔥
I want to learn this kind of sorcery.
heaps of info on RUclips!
When you run out of 1u space...
🤘🏼🖤🖤🖤🤘🏼
Sounds like a new northlane song🤔, missing only low tuning guitars
Hmmm..🤔
@@jonathondeiley Hmmmm🤔 Listen, I wanted to ask for a long time, is it worth waiting for your signature guitars from ESP in a series like ltd?
@@mikegvg9395 I'm just here to support this question!
@@mikegvg9395 nothing in the works as far an ltd series yet, your best bet would be to track down a LTD/ESP TB7
"Desmond" LOL lamest thing I've ever been called.
