I would like the video even more if they just let us hear the instruments play for longer instead of talking over it the entire time. We came here to hear how they sound first. And learn about the oddities of the instrument history second
When it comes to music or really anything that we listen to, the narrator needs to be quiet for at least several seconds to allow us to take in the music. And then explain away the instrument!
I really enjoy your videos but I think this one could have been a bit better if you weren't talking over the sound of the instruments. Thank you very much for your videos though. Are you Charlie Sheen?
The singing ringing tree is also the name of a folk tale that was made into a tv programme in the 60s . It scared the hell out of me . Weirdly I live on the Pennines moors and didn’t know that was in the hills behind my house .
Allegedly, one of the reasons the glass harmonica made people who played it go bat shit crazy is that it was made with leaded glass. hashtag: lead poisoning. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Then there's the Octobass. It is almost 12' high. To play it the player must stand on a raised step-up like platform. At one time there were only three in existence, and the Montreal Symphony was the only one in the world that used one. On RUclips there is a demonstration of the instrument playing the two note "shark theme" in "Jaws."
Concerning the Theremin: how is it possible that you did not mention that it was this very instrument that was used to play the title music of Star Trek The Original Series??????
Because it isn't. That's a soprano. A style in exotica of the space age bachelor pad music of the 50's, with a touch of Yma Sumac. Also Good Vibrations-Beach Boys. Doctor Who too. No Theremin.
I died when I head doublebass contra flute.then he called it contrabass flute(technically correct nomanclature), then double contrabass flute, then they showed a clip of a G subcontrabass flute, even though talking about the double contra, lol
You even don't show the complete information, their is an Indian temple which is completely made up of musical instruments that too 1000 of years before any news age instrument and could produce all notes, I myself didn't know about it until I went their, I'm going to unsubscribe your channel as you don't provide actual top5's and just ost what you like without conducting any research or so.
Proofread, you spelt "there" wrong amongst many other things. Also, this is a video about instruments, not temples. I'm sure nobody would care if you unsubscribe.
It would be nice if the MC would tell us about it and then "SHUT UP" !! Then we could hear the beautiful sound that they make.
Yeah it peeves me too. I mean let' us all hear what they sound like!!!!!!
@@ritalowrie1296 Agreed
Kill the natrator
@@rayyaninspookymonth1630 get some help.
It DEFINITELY needs to let us hear the instruments much better. No question. I was thinking the same thing as you.
I would like the video even more if they just let us hear the instruments play for longer instead of talking over it the entire time. We came here to hear how they sound first. And learn about the oddities of the instrument history second
that's exactly what I tought ... he talks a lot innit ...

I know I came to hear weird and obscure instruments not some weird British guy
True
It'd be nice if we could hear some of these. Too much talking!
????
Don't want to run in to copyright issues I'm guessing
Interesting video, but it would have been much better if we got to hear more of the instruments playing when you aren't talking.
When it comes to music or really anything that we listen to, the narrator needs to be quiet for at least several seconds to allow us to take in the music. And then explain away the instrument!
The singing tree reminds me of when spongebob made those giant sculptures of himself
Same

4:21 and 10:24 reminds me a little of the album cover of the first New Age album I ever bought, "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield.
The Glass Harmonica has SICK sound! 🤩👍✨
Yeah Ben frank was a trippy dude
Wow 🤩
Ihan kiva, kun maailmassa jotku näkee nälkää nii noi leikkii ruoalla. Ei voi ymmärtää. Ja sairas oli se mäyräjuttukin!

Very nice it’s history’s best instruments.❤️🎺🎸🥁🎻👍🙏
This guy is the narrator for simple history.
Him: it’s the the biggest instrument in the world
Me: its the grinches house
😂
Surprised they didn't have the magic pipe from That 1 Guy.
Simple history voice
Most of them were not new they are just original instruments but with different material...
Concerning the Theremin: how is it possible that you did not mention that it was this very instrument that was used to play the title music of Star Trek The Original Series??????
Because he has no taste.

I wonder if the glass bowls originally contained lead in them, hence negatively impacting its players.
Woah simple history guy
I play the gourd
Some of these things are not so much musical instruments, but music boxes or speakers.

The interviewer is smoking too much. That is way his sound is heavy.
