My mind set is always go for the eyes - many years ago my mind set was - “if anybody tries to steal my purse they’re gunna be real surprised cuz there’re gunna have a fight on their hands”. Then, it happened - one night while just getting into my car a guy put himself next to me before I closed my car door ... he yelled “give me your purse you bitch or I am gunna kill you”. Everything went into slow motion - my mind said “kill me? What’s he got? A knife or a gun? Again, he yelled “give me your purse you bitch” (my mind wondered does he know me? - he keeps calling me a bitch) I looked for his left hand to see what weapon he has - it was hidden by his jacket so I tried to look around it and that startled him and we bobbed heads - he yelled again to give him my purse - my hand slowly went to the passenger seat where my purse was sitting and my mind said as I pulled my hand away from my purse - “ I don’t want to give him my purse” ... my mind couldn’t comprehend because he wanted me to hand him my purse - then! Frustrated he reached across me to grab my purse - frick! The fight was on! Because he was trying to take my purse ... I somehow kicked toward him so hard I landed in the passenger seat and he came into the car trying to hit me in the face - I grabbed his hand, fingers folded into his and turned his hand upside down and twisted it while backing him out of my car ... thankfully someone saw the fight and drove their car toward mine while honking their horn and the assailant ran away. 😊 He did not get my purse. After I thought, as a woman I am twice a potential victim if I carry a purse, cuz the dirty bastards are either after my purse or my pussy. I quit carrying a purse -

My life's lesson I copped for a heavy head but in my early 20s and I'm not small guy but it knocked the bags out of me two black eyes and a broken nose. A few altercations since and I have never gave that space again to anyone, it is a tactic many thugs or hard men try to do is lure you in and take the space and give you a Glasgow Kiss, even a drunken skinny man can administer a perfect head but to perfection if you have given the safe space away. Once you boss the safe space most angry or drunk people can't do much other than throw badly timed and powder puff punches that carry no sting. I have been punched times and its not even felt as bad as a wasp sting it was so insignificant and I could have taken as many as they could throw and hit me with and had nothing more than a graze, just from having that safe area to move my body a little and head movement and using my hands and legs it is often enough to diffuse the fight with just moving a little and giving the psychology that they are not going to get a sucker punch in or sneaky headbut . Its all about that safe space with the average joe or aggressive drunk or thug , if you take control of it you wont get hurt simple. Obviously a trained fighter or someone armed it is totally different you are never going to be able to control the safe area.

Thanks for the question! If the initial pressure does not deter then it's a case of driving your fingers in until they let go. Mindset is important here - remember you didn't ask them to put their hands on you and you dont know what harm they could cause you. Once the threat stops though, it would no longer be reasonable to continue and you should stop too. Hope that helps👍🏻

Do you agree you can be in a catch 22 situation if not used to fighting. Nerves and/or fear take away a lot of your power. But you can also have an subconscious fear of permanently causing serious harm when going for eyes or throat, which makes you hold back, frightened of using full force chance you blind the attacker or actually kill him when striking the throat.

I tkink headbutts should be allowed in MMA, particularly in the UFC. By banning them, they take away one very practical and effective realistic aspect of fighting, something that happens in almost every bar fight. The other rules seem reasonable, such as groin kicks, kicking a downed opponent etc, but just not allowing head buts makes fighting almost an unrealistic fantasy. |I guess the argument is they would be all bloodied up and their career would end way sooner, but these are human cock fights we are talking about and blood is part of that. The only argument could be if they were so devastating the fighters would just drop squirming in pain, which I don't think they are. I haven't seen many of them, except the ones from the top position on a BJJ guy somewhere in UFC 1-6, which ultimately ended the fight. I understand you want BJJ to look pretty from the guard, but if the simple reality of head-butts neutralizes BJJ from the guard, making it ineffective and totally helpless crying for their mothers from the bottom, then perhaps BJJ is just ineffective and banning them is just denying reality. Just like a Shaolin master's flashy techniques are ineffective in the octagon, we don't ban certain MMA moves because they kill the beauty of the Shaolin art.
