The beauty about this series is that below the seemingly fun anecdotes, there are so many hidden messages and a constant theme of consistency, constant learning, application, and enormous practice. This applies to all of us in any profession. Thank you so much. Thief, maybe, but, u can proudly say, "Catch me if you can"
Very true Sir, it’s also the humility of a great Vidwan who is always willing to learn from others and widen his own horizon. True Indian learning tradition
Give & Take is a must in Carnatic Music. That is what is sustsining it for so long. No Royalty business for compositions, style etc. Every artist is generous. Rasikas are blessed. TNK had a very crowd pleasing artistry. My first moment years ago with TNK was with Niravathisukadha.. That concert included Tholijanma and Thaye Yasodha. Still have that in a Sony casssette tape.
Very huge, valuable ,life long precious comment by ,violin legend T,N,KRISHAN . you are very lucky, and we also very lucky persons ,to hear about ,T,N, Krishan. My father's favorite violinist.
I like your presentation. Short and Sweet. I know nothing about Carnatic music. That is the beauty in your presentation. Make it enjoyable for everyone and bring Carnatic music to everyone
I was in the same concert in Raga Sudha Hall and remember this incident. TNK Mama also added that that he himself (TNK Mama referred to himself as "naan") "naanum inda maari thirudi irukken". That was a very truthful and quite a hilarious moment!
Excellent sir. Enjoyed very much.
Sanjay Sir - your anecdotes are captivating and your style is mesmerizing. I am enjoying them as I would enjoy the concerts. Your humility and respect for elders truly transparent. I like the quality of production, lighting, sound choice of props and the shirts you wear. It looks like you have a preference for checks!! I must hasten to say nothing was distracting - just that every bit of it was enjoyable. On that note, let me wait for more and more on this series. Huge respects - hope I can meet you someday in person just to see that captivating smile with a twinkle in your eye. Ramanathan Sridhar
I really enjoyed listening to this Note, especially that when u mentioned, To keep trying again n again, such that u achieve ur goal. God bless n thank u for ur time.
What a gem!!!! There was a period when five great violinists were at their peak, almost at the same time, viz., Lalgudi, MSG, TNK, Kunnakudi and Chandru. Each of them was a virtuoso and unique in his own way.
Of the five mentioned, the living Legend is m.chandrasekaran sir. He also used to sing in his concerts in our colony in Selaiyur during Sri Rama Navami music festival.
how can ou kunnakudi in the list? :) its abit of disservice to have such list. t rukmini, azagiri swamy, tiruvallore subrahmanyam, vvs etc are not those to omitted.
Had the fortune to watch father son and daughter perform many times. Wizard of violin. Your narration makes us feel that we were along with you at that place. Great going. Looking forward to episodes with other greats.
Absolutely true Sanjay Sir. In old ways we can say "சித்திரமும் கை பழக்கம் செந்தமிழும் நா பழக்கம்" - In Santhanam style we can say "Practice makes a man.. perfect". And the idea about 'stealing ideas' from others. That was also absolutely true. Ideas exist to be stolen.
Sir, your portrayal of anecdotes with the stalwarts really marvelous. It takes me to the era when I used to listen concerts at Coimbatore Ragasudha hall. The great S V Krishnan was indeed a very lovable person. I learnt from him how one has to be in the concert hall.
I am inspired after attending yesterday’s concert at Singapore. I am not a trained classical music student, but I love hearing various artists . This series ( 4 of which I listened to back to back today morning), is a collection worth publishing . It is so great to hear and I am sure anyone will benefit !
I don’t know if Sri Sanjay reads these comments. But here goes…once I requested Sanjay to sing a particular Krithi and he didn’t honor my request (this was a 1:1 request). I was so disappointed…but I have to say, he more than made up for that disappointment with this series - all my favorite musicians featured with such high praise/ admiration / respect / positivity - what more can I ask for. ❤️🙌🙏
Superb narration. Lalgudi , TNK and MSG were great violinist of the bygone era. You had the uncanny knack of picking up the best from these great masters
Your anecdotes really take us feel the moment as if we were present that time listening eagerly with curiosity!!! No words that this series keep us engaged more so enjoyable to learn about the value system of yesteryear stalwarts!! Thanks for bringing out such precious ones sir
Wish I could hear more about such great persons and their valuable thoughts. My humble request can you make the video little bit longer so that we can hear and know more about such great persons.
