Bob shares his thoughts on the play, and helps Kelly introduce a special performance of "Stay Gold" by Tony nominees Sky Lakota-Lynch and Brody Grant, accompanied by Jamestown Revival.

The second this musical was announced, I KNEW there was going to be a song called Stay Gold between Ponyboy and Johnny, and I knew it would make me cry.
At 76 yrs old, this is without a doubt, the most beautiful song I've ever heard, ❤
Sky brings such tenderness and vulnerability to Johnny and his voice is unreal.
I had the best time I want to thank Kelly Clarkson all the producers were great Laura Olivia Kareen and Alex also a shout out to all the stage people FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY ❤️❤️❤️

Oh my.... 😭 I read The Outsiders book in middle school, and I absolutely loved it. It gutted me and made me cry, but it has been my favorite book since then. Then when I watched the movie, it became one of my favorite movies. I admit that when I heard they were turning it into a stage musical, I hated the idea. How dare they touch the magic that is The Outsiders!? I haven't listened or watched much from it since... Until this... this song is so beautifully written. And the casting of Johnny Cade seems spot on even from just this one song. I so wish I was able to go see the show. Thank you Kelly for having them on your show and for sharing their performance!

This song gets me every time
I saw this show 4/21 and it was HANDS DOWN the best show I've ever seen. Everything was beyond stunning and the amount of work put into this show is absolutely more than visible. Filled to overflowing with talent, raw emotion, story, and so much more. GO SEE IT!!!

The fact I went to see it in april on the 27 for my birthday gift and it was amazing i was so happy to see it and so excited to see it after my 16 birthday on april 23 once my mom got the tickets I think in march I was so happy to see it I almost started to cry because I am in love with the show I usally get called "johnnys girl"" at school by my health teacher.
When I went to see it on broadway in new york I almost cried at the seen where johnny died it was hearbreaking to watch one of your freinds die like that but overall this was a great movie and broadway show I think that I waved at the guy who played dally.
Never seen the movie, read the book, or know anything about it and got emotional as soon as he started singing

Hi. Beautiful I wanted to say that the outsiders is my favorite movie of All time. Some of you didn't know there was a 1990 tv series called the outsiders and some of you probably did. It was on fox channel 13 it's on RUclips

I definitely get that! like the other comment said, check out Great Expectations. The guy you're referring to is Brody Grant who plays Ponyboy; he's absolutely phenomenal! The entire cast is, but I've never heard a voice like Brody's before this show. Death's at My Door and Far Away From Tulsa also have moments where Brody sings more but Sky Lakota-Lynch (guy on the right who plays Johnny Cade) also has parts in those songs but the way their voices blend and harmonize is extraordinary. Both of these men are so utterly talented. Definitely see the show if you haven't and are able to!
If you have the opportunity to go see this on Broadway, RUN...to go see it. Not only are the songs amazing the staging is one of the absolute most astounding things I've ever seen.
This is a completely average song and it can't compare with the Steve Wonder masterpiece "Stay Gold" from the original movie, in my opinion one of the greatest movie songs ever.
