To my ears all presets sound like a$$. There are so much better products on the market imho.

I don't know if it's just the sound coming through the video or not, but that thing sounds like shit, imo. Thanks for sharing though... nice playing!

Dude, I think some other Joyo stuff is better, but this one sounds really weird!

I tried two of the mini tube heads. They sounded so bad they basically sounded broken. It was simply amazing how bad they were. That’s why all the reviewers won’t give their opinion.

I have the Zombie 2, if you like a brutal heavy tone this things amazing, even sold my 6505mh because the Joyo just sounds better in my opinion

@@Joelvete6 yes, but he's also right about alotta things. Granted, I don't think he's the best at actually communicating what he means, beyond just being annoying. But, atleast take away that you can get alotta good sounds outta cheap shit.

Joyo inspires me along with Boss - then I picked up a Ryobi stereo boom box and now I really need to mod it so I can just plug into it; 80 USD on sale and loud af, and you can play for days on a large battery. The perfect camping amp.

Sounds like it would be cool to noodle with but like with the plug in headphone amplifiers that kick ass nowadays I don’t know why this exists.

I imagine there’s someone out there this appeals to 🤷‍♂️ but yeah I don’t have a whole lot of use for things like this personally

An extra like 50 gets you one of the batter badtamps and those are genuinely good practice amps. I have a zombie I keep at work to practice during my lunch. Does everything this thing does except let you hear yourself which for a portable practice amp shouldn’t matter. Think it’s implied you’re gonna use headphones.

As an oil industry lobbyist I'd like to point out that your battery powered amp will be practically unusable at temperatures below -40, not to mention that it will almost certainly explode and kill everyone you love. Get a gas-powered amp like your grandpa had. Little known fact: gasoline is fire-proof and the fumes are good for small children. If leaded gasoline isn't available in your area, talk to your congressman today!
    Also, good demo!

The direct out can go into an FRFR cab or to FOH, so technically this thing is giggable. I would actually recommend using a mic in tandem with the line out, and blend them, judging by the sounds you're getting. The DI sounds better, but is a bit anemic, while the mic over the woofer is almost all low mids. I'm actually curious what it would sound like if you used a condenser set a bit farther back, or mic'd each speaker and the sound hole separately. That said, as long as you can avoid phase issues, it should be perfectly serviceable for recording or live at smaller venues.

Honestly I dig the lo-fi quality on the rhythm and metal channels, plus the clean tones are pretty good for being a portable battery amp. Everyone's got different opinions, but hey, if it works it works
Also a question because I have the memory of a goldfish: Do you still have your Axe-FX or did you end up permanently downsizing with the Synergy stuff? Apparently Cygnus X-3 came out recently and has me really curious

I still have it! I use it for my bands back line, and it’s not going anywhere.
I’m also very curious and I’ve been meaning to check it out, just real busy lately

They have a bigger amp. Kind of a Mini Rectifier inspired thing called a Joyo Mjolnir.

Very nice video, Just a question: on the direct out, isn't it design to put a IR? Just a stupid question 😂

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  5 месяцев назад +1

it sounds like it has an EQ curve on it to simulate a speaker, but there’s no way to put an IR with the device. You could do it in post, but I don’t think it was the intended use
