Here is my detailed guide on how to beat 5.2.4 Lines in the Sand in Marvel Contest of Champions. I will be going over the main problems, best champions and top strategies for getting through this quest
This is also the quest where the player first meets the masochism node and this video gives an in depth look at how to beat it.
ADD ON: A synergy that I missed (thanks V) is one with Proffessor X, Red Mags, Beast and Wolverine with Quicksilver (3* or higher) though does not effect Quicksilver himself. This reads -
Reduces the opponent's purify Ability Accuracy by -100% for 3 seconds after a well-timed block (aka a parry)
This functions very similarly to the synergy for Sabertooth and Proffessor X is touched upon in the video as a high block proficiency champion

@@Dcuniverse60 Storm there nothing really special apart from that her specials will hit harder over time and below 25% health, she will go unblockable. Yes Dr Doom can definitely do that fight

I dont hv apocalypse or someone like that but i do hv hulkling dr doom wiccan 4 stars. Should i replace someone or keep going. I started account like a month ago so
@@koraro53 do you not have any decent 5*s? Nick suffers against masochism as he needs his big bleeds so he could be an option to swap out. Doom can work if you know what the “doom cycle” is. Get to the sp3 and the fight is basically over. Hulkling can also work well as he doesn’t apply debuffs apart from on his heavy or parry. Damage is also great

Dr doom and hulkling i have to build up too sooo
I noticed when using diablo his medium combo ender sometimes puts masochism on cooldown. Best way of utilizing this is just intercepting when masochism is about to go off cooldown
Diablo has a 75% place a poison on his second medium attack. This is probably what is triggering it for you. Diablo is a beast, but make sure that masochism is on cool down when your launch your sp3 as it will eat all of the poisons

I always focused on 6* champs (I own Kitty Pryde, Spidy Stealth Suit, Ghost Rider and War Machine), still I would lose. I didn't know reading the nodes was that improtant. I have been owning 5* Apo and 5* Ghost for a while, but never ramped them up. I am upgrading them soon. How is Red Guardian, I have a 5*, worth upgrading?
He is ok but there are better options
i got hulkling, my main carry. should i push for uncollected or try to max out my 4 star hulkling
Always push as far as you can, but don’t spend loss of items and units. Give 5.2.5 or 5.2.6 a try and see what happens

Hey MCOC Encyclopedia. My team is 5*r5 Ghost, 5*r4iDoom, 5*r4 rintrah, 5*r4 Red Mags and 3 star wasp for ghost synergy lol. You think I'm ready to go for uncollected? This quest i will go for the Venom path cause everytime i dash back i get a fury buff from bleed.
Only you know if you are ready, but if you can use the ghost well, she will carry you a long way. I was using a 5* R5 ghost right up until the Grandmaster and only stopped because I pulled the 6*. If you are good with her, then the caltrops path will be good. I would just to M, dash back, phase, repeat. You will have enough damage that you don’t need to do anything fancy. Big sp2 if it’s needed, but as you see in the video against Storm, it really isn’t if you have more patience that I do. Do note that Storm won’t have caltrops if you take that path.

how does void help? i have him awakend 5* but level 1 should i use him
@@AkashPalukuri-tc5tt Void inflicts a lot of debuffs, so the node will most likely purify one of those debuffs instead instead of the parry stun

You absolutely can. People used to do it with 3*/4*s. Really practice your parries and dexes and make sure they are reliable. Best of luck!
@@mcocencyclopedia interesting, today i tried to play act 5.2 for the first time, and then i became Uncollected! But still, it is super intense for me, kinda shock at first, i felt like this is about my skill issue, far from being a pro, but i never gives up, i need to burn 20+ revives, so thankfully i spend no units

I started playing again at the end of act 3 or start of 4, i used to play back in 2015-2016 and since i started i basically had to re learn how to play and all the basics, still learning and having trouble but im stuck here and using all 5 stars one 6 star idk if i got the wrong people or what but i could definitely use some tips/help
I was wondering why I never noticed this node when I did it but I used juggernaut so I didn’t give debuffs and I didn’t even notice when my parries didn’t work

I have put a link below, but as long as you have parry and dexerity, the rest is irrelevant. Willpowe rand max MD are nice to have in certain situations, but really aren't needed here

I’m sure you can, but none of them are particularly brilliant options. Hood and absman are probs the best. Hoods invisibility will give you few openings so that’s will help. Absman doesn’t have debuffs so he’s also a good option. They will both be poor vs YellowJacket though

Then focus on the techniques section. Reparries, heavy baiting and intercepting are great skills to learn anyway, and 5.2.4 is a good place to start

Who would you choose here I got a 5 star Miles Morales that I opened two days ago, and a 5 Star Cassie Lang. I read Miles is great against the collector. Who would you choose to max out?
Miles is better than Cassie for Masochism though neither of them are amazing for it. You probably won’t be able to max out a 5* just yet though, but rank them as much as you need
Cassie is probably better overall but she is very complex to play
Massive issue.. I don’t have most of the champs u mentioned.. suppose will be stuck for quite some time 😢
Technique is as important as champ (unless you have Apoc or Proxima as they bypass it). Learn to reparry and to intercept and you will have a much better chance. Also work on the monthly quests to expand your roster
my thing is yellow jacket. his passive builds up and i get melted by it. i don’t have ghost either so i’m in a spot where he just melts me
Practice practice practice
During his meltdown phase, you can just back off and stay out of range. It doesn’t last too long and hopefully you can avoid a large amount of the damage
Is not about the video but you know good characters for 5,1,4? That damn power drain is making me lose my few mind cells of patience
There are a few champions that don’t generate buffs or don’t generate the dex buff (Quicksilver, Titania, Spider-Man 99 etc). Or just go for champions that can deal a lot of damage without specials (ramped Ægon, Corvus, arkangel, red hulk against energy or mystics)
My team is 6*R3Masacare, 5*R5 Ghost, 5*R5 Hulking, 6*Archangel and i’m still losing man, do you think wasp synergy can be good?
Wasp will certainly be helpful for playing ghost and she can do most of the fights in this quest. The unblockable is really helpful, but will make Yellowjacket more annoying as he reduces damage of unblockable specials by 75%. Archangel isn't the easiest to use in 5.2.4 as his debuffs can be removed, so maybe consider swapping him out for white mags. That gives you 3 free fights with hulkling. If you have him, even as a 4/5* Apoc is amazing.

Yes he is! Get to sp3 and the fight is over. You can Doom cycle them just fine
I tried this quest twice, failed, and then got apoc as my first 6*. Im just realizing my luck😅

What does the reverse class relationship mean?
In a normal match up you c an gain class advantage: cosmic vs tech, mutant vs skill etc. Because of this you gain some bonuses: more attack, they lose attack etc. In a reverse class match up, these are the other way around. Tech has advantage over cosmic even though the prefight screen still shows that they have the advantage
I wish I had found your channel before attempting this quest. I'm pretty sure I just used Units Man and brute forced the whole chapter.

Potentially. Bane itself is probably the more annoying part of 5.2.6, but the best counter for the collector is unitman. He can go unstoppable fairly randomly at low health and start healing as well. Really annoying
My best champ is doctor doom, and I have no champs above 2 star with bleed immunity. I best Yellowjacket with doom but I’m already at 30 percent. I think I’m gonna end up spending tons of units on this quest.
Remember that this is story content so isn't going anywhere. You can always come back to it when you are ready for it
@@mcocencyclopedia I actually just beat it yesterday. I used some good buffs and the majority of my revive stockpile though.

I had to defeat Deadpool with my 3* apoc, give horseman to red mags so he becomes immune to bleed, and also rank up useless white mags for caltrops node to fight storm. I was fighting storm until I died and couldn’t afford any revives smh
I can’t really recommend the Mags for this quest as there aren’t that many metal issues. Using Horseman is a good idea though to get around the caltrops node
@@alexanderrogers4557 there's yellowjacket, iron patriot, war machine, iron man, and colossus, but it depends on the path you're taking
@@quesoking2986 I agree with @alexanderrogers4557. Yellowjacket is the first fight so you can try as much as you need and Colossus has double power gain with his ability accuracy is reduced. The other 3 aren't really issues and mags can actually make them more annoying, becuase the shrug off is now 30% chance meaning you can't rely on it to happen when you think it will.
@@mcocencyclopedia well mags helps with war machine sp1 with his good block proficiency, plus I got horseman after the deadpool fight. The class reversal also helps with tech champs imo. I rely on luck for the magnetised -70% ability accuracy 😬. If that doesn’t work and I heavy too soon, the unstoppable will save me most of the time. Otherwise I just redo the quest

i used cgr for most of the fights🤣
He is a little trickier to play than the direct counters but he can place a large number of debuffs so fits nicely into that category. Nice job!

If that is you main team, then you can try the caltrops path that goes round the top. Up to you, but maybe give it a try

I have 6 star hurcules and dr doom both r2 and I’m still stuck here 😭
I would suggest focusing on your basics then. Make sure your parries and dexes are on point and you know how best to you your champs on offensive

Is your Herc awakened? That will really help you in a lot of content.
For doom (sorry if you already know about the doom cycle), try to push them to high power and drop your sp3. After that when they are stunned (and it is passive so don’t worry about masochism), you can go MM LLLMM straight into sp1. This will put you at 2 bars of power. From here you can either build to sp3 again and repeat before the aura runs out of go for sp2 for big damage

Electro can sometimes ambush you on the path. It is annoying and random
