I saw this movie in 1971 at Matunga Bombay(Mumbai),bunking College(ISc) in a matinee show. Even today the song is achingly beautiful as then.I'm 62 and a grandad. Once in a lifetime that lata madan sadhana and Raja Mehdi gave us.

How was it like to live in Mumbai then Bombay, in 60s n 70s. My first visit to Bombay was in 1982. When i compare Mumbai that is today, it is completely different from that it was in 1982. I am curious..

God was very happy to us at time we only had cinema to escape from day to day grind at that time.

Dear friend.. yes, she is pure magic.. I'm 78 and only discovered vintage Bollywood in 1990. Sadhana thrilled us in "Anita", Ek Phool Do Mali" and many more. My brother and I achingly and happily remember the time of which you speak. Golden 1950's and 60's for Jazz over here in USA, but also, wonderful time all around the world. Our good ears hear all those micro-tonal notes Lata seems so effortlessly to sing. We were hooked on Music of India.. now, we both play Sitar learning Bollywood songs. Also, can never forget hearing Hariji, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Nikhil Banerjee, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Rajan Sajan Misra..the list of bliss goes on forever with India's Stars.
Sadhna is so beautiful......... her smile is like an angel's :)

I'm 61. Once in a lifetime that lata madan sadhana and Raja Mehdi gave us. When I was alone I remember those days which was my tension free days. Every friday I saw every film which released friday. My parents allow me every thing. They can’t say me why I saw movies. Today they are in Heaven. Every pal I remember them. I love them.

फिल्म ‘वह कौन थी’ के इस लोकप्रिय गीत के पीछे एक छोटी सी कहानी है. जिस दिन इसकी रिकार्डिंग होने वाली थी उसी दिन लताजी का गला खराब हो गया. उन्होंने संगीतकार मदन मोहनजी के पास गीत गाने के लिए असमर्थता जताई. मदनजी चिंता में पड गए. वह इसलिए कि साधनाजी पर गीत फिल्माया जाने का दिन भी तय हुआ था. मदनजी ने ज्यादा समय जाया ना करते हुए गीत स्वयं गाने का फैसला किया और गाया. उसे साधनाजी पर फिल्माया भी गया. परंतु फिल्म देखते समय ऐसा कुछ भी महसूस नहीं होता. बाद में लताजी का गाया हुआ गीत फिल्म में शामिल किया गया. प्रतिभाशाली गीतकार राजा मेहदी अली खानसाहब के शब्दों ने गीत के रहस्यपूर्ण वातावरण को बढावा दिया है. खानसाब, मदन मोहनजी, लताजी एवं साधनाजी के इस बेहतरीन गीत को सुनने वाले हमेशा याद करते रहेंगे.
