The Bible is a realtime narrative that tracks God’s historical relationship with humanity, forming a grand narrative arc that moves toward the glorious end-goal of bringing human beings back to their original identity as sons and daughters of God who bear His image. The key biblical concept that encompasses this grand narrative is what the prophets called “covenant.” Jesus came into the world as “the Son of God” for the purpose of restoring covenantal love to humanity.
