Shane Carwin never even maximized his talents in MMA because other sports were his first option and he carried over injuries from football (much higher paying sport) that was his first option.
I've been saying this forever. LeBron is the most supreme athlete in the history of the world. He's 6'8 260 and without cutting any weight. With that ABSURD speed and coordination, if he trained MMA from the start he would be legendary
You guys gotta check out what KAJ, Magic, Schwarzenegger, etc. say when asked about Chamberlain. First hand accounts of his freak strength and athletic ability.
I got to see LeBron once in person finally a few years ago and I was blown away by how fast he was. You can’t really appreciate just how big he is until you see him in person, and then you see him getting up and down faster than the guards and it’s a bit mind blowing lol
If you don't follow basketball closely then you can't really appriciate and understand what kind of a atlethe LeBron James really is. I'll find you pictures of other NBA players who look just like that but they come no where close to LBJ when it comes to speed, quickness, jumping ability, agility, durability and most importantly IQ. He doesn't have the most rings because is a team sport but if this was a 1 on 1 contest nobody would have a chance.
Dude. Any point guard besides Magic Johnson would lose to any big man who ever played in the NBA. 6'0 guy can't play 1 on 1 against a 6'8 or above player.
Garrett Turbo yup you're right he slimmed down when he first got to the Miami Heat. But look at him in the 2009 2010 season he was huge. He kinda got big again once he got back to the Cavs but your right he slimmed down especially when he was with the Heat
Herschel Walker is another one. He had the fastest 100 meter dash and the farthest shot put throw in his state. He was basically the strongest person in the state of Georgia while also being the fastest. He made the Olympic track and field team at 17 and later made the Olympic bobsled team despite not knowing what bobsledding was before he went to the tryouts. Another one is JJ Watt. He weights 265 pounds but has the same vertical leap as Michael Jordan
Both are athletic as hell but Lebron is arguably the most athletic player in NBA history. Now MJ had more verticals, he has a 50 inch leap while Lebron had a little bit over 40 inches. But take into account Jordan weighed around 210 lbs while Lebron is around 260 lbs. For Lebron size his speed & jumping ability are ridiculous. I like MJ more and he is the GOAT but Lebron beats him in athleticism by a slight margin.
People that think that LeBron couldn't get around 50 in his prime off one foot because it wasn't measured just do not know what they are talking about.
There are some people who just have it. They are winners. They are supreme athletes and would succeed at anything they put their minds to. Mad respect to those people.
Don't be a wimp. Starting Strength Mark Rippetoe, gallon of milk a day for 4 months, you'll be 200 pounds. Easy. I've done it and I'm not even a young dude. Bitches never achieve anything.

Just to add detail to Bo Jackson's hip injury. The tackler was tightly holding onto his leg at the ankle. When Bo tried to pull his leg out he pulled so hard and the grip was so tight that he dislocated his hip. In doing so he severed a vein that they didn't repair(I believe MRI technology wasn't advanced enough at the time to pick up the damaged vein) and his hip was unable to get any blood flow so it degenerated instead. Basically, Bo Jackson was freakishly strong.
The Bo Jackson hit that Joe referenced was when the guy grabbed Bo’s leg and bro tried to drag him and ripped his hip so far out of socket that it was fricked beyond repair ((at the time, he might have made a full recovery nowadays))
basically bo was so strong he ripped his hip out of socket. what happened was that when he popped it back in it damaged the blood vessels supplying blood to the area which caused bone death
The first time I saw labron James in person it blew my mind. You really can grasp how massive and fast he really is till his right in front of you. Guys a freek

Is this why you whyte peple practically study every living organism in the world....God bless y'all little obsessed hearts. It would drive me insane if I had a passion for such things like you Europeans do...Y'all will even do crazy things and push the limits to almost death In the name of research. If y'all had a choice, I bet y'all would breed lebron and serena Williams together lol... Y'all are absolute madlads haha
Bo Jackson's injury came from popping his femur back into his hip after it was dislocated due to a hit on the football field. if you do not do that carefully, you can pinch the blood vessel that supplies the head of the femur, which happened to him. So he was initially fine, but then his bone necrosed (or died) due to a lack of blood supply. Still he was able to have a baseball career after that, he is an unbelievable athlete.
No it wasnt the hit. That got him. He was running so fast and stopped in an instant that's what did the damage I saw an entire biography on bo Jackson. Amazing athletic ability freakish
Also, it’s not just how athletic lebron is but his coordination as well. I’ve seen a lot of good athletes who can hardly dribble a basketball. In the NFL, great athletes who play defense often don’t have good hand skills. Yoel Romero is considered a freakish athlete, but I could see his hand skills not being so great
2:20 Joe Rogan knows his shit, he really does.. but James would have to be talented in MMA, his size doesn't mean he would beat anyones ass, and he should know that.. YES he has insane advantage, but someone 6 foot 4 who's just as strong, and a great fighter would wipe the floor with him. Brock Lesnar, Cain Valasquez, Jon Jones, I mean so many fighters would destroy James. I don't know why Rogan doesn't understand this.
Bo Jackson’s injury was actually a freak accident that only happened because of how freakishly athletic he was. It wasn’t the hit that caused the injury.
I see where Joe’s coming from and I strongly agree. There’s definitely never been an athlete like LBJ in MMA, so imagine if he trained like a pro fighter. It’s a very good point he’s making. However I think he’s not considering a few things, like in MMA or any combat sport, you need to have so many different qualities that go beyond physical talent. Examples: You need to be able to absorb punishment, not only absorb punishment, but take damage and not lose your focus and stay with the gameplan, you can’t quit or panic once you start getting beat on. You need to have a very deep understanding of not only fighting, but what your opponent is thinking or about to do, that definitely comes with training hard, but some fighters obviously excel in the mental aspect more than others. You have to have the ability to stay calm in a fight otherwise you’d gas out quickly from not having control over your nerves and breathing. You have to master timing, precision, and angles which some fighters never do, even a fighter with great physical gifts that lacks these qualities will inevitably get beaten eventually And even physical attributes that most people don’t consider: you need to have a good chin, some people simply don’t. you have to have a good gas tank, obviously comes with training, but at the same time some world class fighters downfalls have been them not having great cardio whereas others fighter’s best attributes are their stamina (it takes a different kind of cardio to be successful in MMA), you have to have muscular endurance as well, which is completely different than strength or explosiveness. You also have to have natural gifts like bone density even (Floyd’s KO% dropped not only cause he was moving up in weight classes but because he had issues with breaking his hands in fights) MMA is one of the only sports where skill almost always beats athleticism and there’s a ton of examples that prove that. Stipe v Ngannou, Cain v Lesnar, Dom Cruz is a walking example of this, he’s never been remarkably fast or explosive but he has a vast wealth of knowledge that he always brings into the octagon with him, as well as technically sound wrestling fundamentals, and a very tricky style that time and time again, world class fighters couldn’t figure out. Not saying Lebron couldn’t master all of these things had he been training for a very long time like Joe Rogan was hypothetically saying, but like the physical attributes Lebron has that make him great, some fighters are just naturally gifted with many subtle but important mental or physical traits more than others, but it’s all just guessing since this is a hypothetical fantasy not based in reality, we don’t know if LBJ has those traits I listed and we’ll never know. He’s obviously a one in a billion type of athletic specimen. And Joe obviously has a very deep knowledge of combat sports I’m just pointing out the factors that he didn’t list, and there’s a ton. That’s why we love MMA , there’s a million different things that make a fighter great, a million different things that can happen in a fight, and a million things we might not even know about leading into a match that could end up playing a huge factor in the fight. But I’m sure LBJ would be Successful had he trained MMA, he’s a freak. How successful though, we’ll never know unfortunately
I agree with what youre saying. What I would add to it is that all the attributes you listed beyond physical, are features elite athletes have in general.
Lebron James is the most gifted athlete I've ever seen, in any sport. 6'9, 260 pounds. And as fast, and as agile as a deer. Can't really shoot all that well, but we're talking athleticism, not skill.
I think football players like jj watt or aaron donald would probably make better ufc fighters than lebron. They are tougher stronger and thicker. And basically just as athletic.
Physically gifted basketball player ≠ physically gifted MMA fighter. If athletic talent was a determinant of fighting talent then forget LeBron James and look at Wilt Chamberlain.
You know how much leg power you need to have to get your head at rim level while weighing 260 lbs? I'd imagine it'd be a lot. Dead sprints, fast twitch muscles, all at elite level. And he also has eidetic memory. It'd be pretty interesting if you trained someone like that on Wrestling and Muay Thai.
They literally have made segments in ESPN about his photographic or eidetic memory. Their words not mine (www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/11067098/lebron-james-greatest-weapon-brain). You can google that, takes about 10 seconds. Yes, we should talk about a moron trying to sound intelligent after your comment.
Too long, nobody's is going to read that. You're this, you're that. You're a commenter on youtube. I doubt you have access to anywhere near anything on Lebron and you're talking as if Lebron himself was consulting you. Okay random youtube guy. ESPN might not be the "medical experts" but at least they have access to Lebron.
hhahaahaha. I"M exposed for posting something other people said? hahahaha. I know you can't trust everything that you read but what you're essentially saying is this: "Guys, guys, there are articles, videos, coaches and players saying this but THEY are wrong. I'm right! Forget that I'm a random youtube poster who don't even have a profile pic. I'M THE EXPERT." hahaha get out of here random guy.
If you remember that LeBron also has a photographic memory and will remember every combo, every setup, everything his opponend ever threw in the fight, he would beat everybody so incredibly easily. He will see everything coming and in addition will be bigger, faster and stronger than everybody else.
Nah his body kicks are probably shit since he wasn’t trained that. I’m more scared of khabib than bron because khabib knows how to break my arm, lebron doesn’t have a fuckin clue
I agree LeBron James is a world class athlete. He is a beast and I basically agree with Joe Rogan. The only problem I have is I don't know how he would respond to getting straight blasted in the face. Though he has great power, some individuals don't possess that warrior mentality... The toughness or fortitude to handle adversity. The way he dramatically flops fouls on the court makes it completely impossible to judge. We know he has the capabilities physically but mentally handle hand-to-hand combat.
Let's be real, if Lebron James put all the focus he had in basketball into mma he would be a tank. He would be so technical, I'm not even trying to br unrealistic here. We have a 6'8" 265lb. Monster with crazy speed to his height and he is very strong. I think he would easily become one of the big names in the UFC without a doubt in my mind
Sorry, but not really no matter how much you train some people are just wimps and and Lebron fits that he does not have the heart of fighter or the ferocity he is kinda timid.
I think the closest comparison in MMA body wise would be LeBron and Ngannou. And even then, LeBron makes Francis look smallish, Ngannou is 6’4” 260 pounds, LeBron is 6’8” and at his heaviest he was 280 pounds of solid muscle, he can jump 40” and is one of the fastest players in the NBA, and he’s a smart dude had he gone the MMA route, it’s scary to imagine what he could have become.
This is such a goofy take. The skill set, endurance, and bodily requirements in MMA are so heavily different from basketball. Lebron as a fighter in his weight class may or may not be good, but these absolutist statements like, “he would dominate! He would be unstoppable!” Are such fan-boy filled nonsense. I like Joe but this take is so bad - let’s remember, though, Joe also thought Rousey could beat many male fighters her size and was a better boxer than Mayweather. Joe may be a decent fighter, but his hype takes are highly questionable.
@@someguy4046 Lol you’re exactly what I’m talking about - what you said is literally all hype. Stronger, faster, and bigger? Based on what? @@someguy4046 lol wow, that fanboy koolaid really hits hard doesn’t it? There’s zero evidence he can fight. Zero evidence he has fighting balance, striking speed, fighting flexibility, fight IQ. If he was in MMA, he’d be flopping around and crying and claiming his opponent injured him before the match even started. Bruce buffer is screaming “in this corner” and Lebrun is flopping backward into Joe Rogan’s table asking for free throws.
Deontay Wilder is the example closest to an NBA player being a fighter, even if it is boxing. Not to mention Wilder played JuCo Basketball and was a talented football player. As Fury showed, athletic ability and god given power can only go so far and yes Fury is also 6'9, but he's no athlete, far from it and he's said it himself.
@@NothingElseMattersJM Yes, I'm aware because I am a fan of basketball, but having an elite level vert and above average dash means nothing in MMA lmao.
@@UpsetTronGuy also Wilder didn't start boxing till 20. No doubt Fury is more skilled and better than Wilder but Fury started since the moment he was born. If they had the same starting point then it's no question that Wilder would be the superior boxer given his athletic potential.
LeBron isn't just an insane athlete, he has the work ethic and intelligence as well. If he had trained his entire life to be a fighter, he would be the best to ever do it no question. People talk about Jon Jones like he's an athletic marvel, which he is, but compared to LeBron he's a middle schooler. 6'9, 270, faster then the strongest and stronger then the fastest. He's the most athletic human since prime Wilt Chamberlain. I wish I could see LeBron in the MMA. It wouldn't be fair. He also has incredible durability with injuries, although that obviously wouldn't translate 1 to 1 in MMA lol.
I always wondered what would happen if there no other sports and everyone gravitated towards combat sports instead. Would we even know most of the fighters we do today if the best athletes in the world decided not to play soccer, basketball, football, and they all got in the octagon/ring? I just can't imagine a flying knee from someone who has a 40 inch vertical and 11 foot long jump...
I’ve thought about a similar thing. If everyone on earth was given 5 years of top tier mma training, would any current fighters be in the top 10 still? There are probably people out there who have godly genetic potential but just never considered training or had no time for it I bet there’s a genetic equivalent to Lebron working at a McDonald’s somewhere
Ngl their is probably so much physically advantageous people where if they practiced and trained in different combat sports they would be a different beast
i'm a huge basketball fan of over 35 yrs. bron is a once in a lifetime player. he has karl malone's body, MJ's athleticism but probably the most under-rated part of his game is his magic johnson court vision. bron's an unbelievable and more than willing passer. and not only is he a crazy athlete, he's a student of the game. remarkable memory, too. that said, i should only have 1 championship to his name. he lucked into 2 others because GS and the spurs choked on their respective series.
Theoretically yeah, but still, I’d be picking Jon Jones over Bron regardless. jones is also a freak athlete with strength FAR BEYOND his frame or even his weight
@995sean still, he greatly outweighs him and is faster than him. also stronger and his reach is far greater. forgot about the height advantage. covington has fighting skill and experience, but I am going to take all of lebrons advantages along with him being a once in a life time freak athlete who won the gene lotto. now if this were lebron against someone bigger, then I wouldn't take him. but covington is a small 5'10"-5'11" dude.
Fedor in his prime was a giant killer. It didn't matter how big, how fast, or how strong his opponents were. It didn't matter if they clocked him, if they got on top of him, or if they dropped him on his head. He would eventually either submit them, or light them up. His hands down, high risk style eventually caught up to him. But, this is why I've got a problem with records and greatest p4p stats. Fedor in his prime could and would beat anyone from any weight division. And, he wasn't a goliath.
@@soulzy3596 Fedor would have smacked Jon Jones, first of all, Jones is only undefeated because of corruption. He arguably lost 2 or 3 fights, secondly Fedor is bigger and a better fighter with more fights.

You have to master timing, precision, and angles which some fighters never do, even a fighter with great physical gifts that lacks these qualities will inevitably get beaten eventually
And even physical attributes that most people don’t consider: you need to have a good chin, some people simply don’t. you have to have a good gas tank, obviously comes with training, but at the same time some world class fighters downfalls have been them not having great cardio whereas others fighter’s best attributes are their stamina (it takes a different kind of cardio to be successful in MMA), you have to have muscular endurance as well, which is completely different than strength or explosiveness. You also have to have natural gifts like bone density even (Floyd’s KO% dropped not only cause he was moving up in weight classes but because he had issues with breaking his hands in fights)
MMA is one of the only sports where skill almost always beats athleticism and there’s a ton of examples that prove that.
How successful though, we’ll never know unfortunately
god bless you man for combat sports you need to be a fighter small man can beat big man
Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that he would murder any top heavyweight within seconds. Even without training.
I agree with what youre saying. What I would add to it is that all the attributes you listed beyond physical, are features elite athletes have in general.
You don’t actually understand how big Lebron until you see him in person up close. He’s literally a tank.
I always thought Lebron and Deontay Wilder could be brothers. They look so similar.
Not everyone’s built for fighting. No matter how big or athletic you are if your not built for fighting you won’t last

coltsrule5150 I agree and IMO any NFL LB DE or RB with the same dedication to MMA as football would be a scary prospect.
I think football players like jj watt or aaron donald would probably make better ufc fighters than lebron. They are tougher stronger and thicker. And basically just as athletic.
Mo S They are not even close to LeBron’s athleticism when he was that age

I agree LeBron James is a world class athlete. He is a beast and I basically agree with Joe Rogan. The only problem I have is I don't know how he would respond to getting straight blasted in the face. Though he has great power, some individuals don't possess that warrior mentality... The toughness or fortitude to handle adversity. The way he dramatically flops fouls on the court makes it completely impossible to judge. We know he has the capabilities physically but mentally handle hand-to-hand combat.
If Lebron was in the UFC he’d be faking cup checks and eye pokes.
Let's be real, if Lebron James put all the focus he had in basketball into mma he would be a tank. He would be so technical, I'm not even trying to br unrealistic here. We have a 6'8" 265lb. Sorry, but not really no matter how much you train some people are just wimps and and Lebron fits that he does not have the heart of fighter or the ferocity he is kinda timid.
What if Mushrooms fought in the MMA?
I think the closest comparison in MMA body wise would be LeBron and Ngannou. And even then, LeBron makes Francis look smallish, Ngannou is 6’4” 260 pounds, LeBron is 6’8” and at his heaviest he was 280 pounds of solid muscle, he can jump 40” and is one of the fastest players in the NBA, and he’s a smart dude had he gone the MMA route, it’s scary to imagine what he could have become.

Joe Rogan: unfathomable
This is such a goofy take.
The skill set, endurance, and bodily requirements in MMA are so heavily different from basketball. Lebron as a fighter in his weight class may or may not be good, but these absolutist statements like, “he would dominate! He would be unstoppable!” Are such fan-boy filled nonsense. I like Joe but this take is so bad - let’s remember, though, Joe also thought Rousey could beat many male fighters her size and was a better boxer than Mayweather. Deontay Wilder is the example closest to an NBA player being a fighter, even if it is boxing. Not to mention Wilder played JuCo Basketball and was a talented football player. 1:07 Hello joe rogan Hand

Fedor in his prime was a giant killer. It didn't matter how big, how fast, or how strong his opponents were. It didn't matter if they clocked him, if they got on top of him, or if they dropped him on his head. He would eventually either submit them, or light them up.
