Ever since I found your channel I have realised we need more RUclipsrs like you ❤❤it’s nice to see someone who really enjoys learning new stuff and is sharing it with others ❤
I loved Your Money or Your Life; I honestly don't remember much of it now but it did help shape my money habits since I did do the tracking for a month. I was in a place of low/no financial knowledge and it helped me realize at the time that 1) income was coming in and out of my life more often than I realized and 2) I was spending on things that didn't align with my priorities / values of the time now I don't track all of my spending anymore but I do track my savings / networth and this book was the framework for that
Your money or your life is hands down the most practical of all of them. You dont need to go cheap on everything you just need to budget. Also its been revised a few times. The millionaire mind book was garbage and ive read a ton of finance focused books. So many of these positive thinking wealth books are just rehashing old concepts with tiny twists to try to be original
Yooo the critique on the last book was so hilariously brutal. Tbh tho, it's refreshing to hear your take on the 'woe is me' argument about the work week and your attitude towards it and your free time.
Oh gosh I can’t agree more!! I started listening to the 4-hour week audiobook and I had to give it up, because I found myself asking the author “what are you talking about ?!” multiple times… Complete nonsense mambo jumbo… It has no financial advice, it just talks about random things.. Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏
Interesting to hear your thoughts on Your Money or Your Life! I also felt like it was too granular and not practical (keeping an inventory of everything you own and their current market value). I did however like the idea of spending money on things that explicitly align with your values
I've partially read Give and Take a few years ago. It liked it a lot, I could even say it was eye opening, but I found it repetitive too. I'm planning to read the first two books you've recommended. Thanks a lot!
hey Ana! thank you once again for the insightful sharing! now I'm tempted to check out 'The Magic of Thinking', haha! Have you read 'The Defining Decade' by Meg Jay? I enjoyed it quite a fair bit and would love to hear your thoughts on it! :)
Wow, Ana's going to be a millionaire at this rate. I would recommend The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. It is more of a praxis than a mindset book, but it does so much to demystify investing that its worth reading anyway. There is still some mindset in there, mostly to do with the virtue of patience and discretion in investing.
@@BookandHearth You’re welcome!! Did you see the book suggestion I had for you? Well, there were more than one I suggested. Haha! I could go on and on with suggestions. It’s totally okay if you didn’t have time to respond. I completely understand. I’m only asking because I saw my response back to you then when I went back to edit it and add a few more books I didn’t see my response. I just want to make sure you knew I didn’t forget to write you back with my suggestion. Again, there’s no pressure if you saw it but just didn’t have a chance to answer yet. 👍🏼 You’re the best!!
I originally did not like "The Magic of Thinking Big," but it may have been because I first listened to it on an audiobook (which is just my preference; not saying that audiobooks are bad). I got the book a few months ago and I've been reading it. It's absolutely good! I'd give it 4 out of 5.
I've never listened to an audiobook before, I feel like I'd share your sentiments! Something about seeing the words visually is helpful for some people, I think.
I find my thinking and opinions aligning quite a lot with the author of the last book on this list...what do you recommend to change my way of thinking?
I don't see a need to change your mindset if it works for you! Only if it's bringing you distress. As always, reading is subjective, so what I dislike about a book could be what someone else loves about it.
I have it on my bookshelf! I'm focusing on fiction for at least the next month or so, but after I'm done with spooky season and the current novel I'm writing, I'm excited to get back into some nonfiction too
Ferris is an interesting person who has shared a lot of valuable info over the years, but I agree with your assessment. Work less by exploiting cheap labor! I do like that he's really helped fund psychedelic research in recent time, but have to wonder how much personal angst could be from this value-misalignment? Nice video & good luck with the newer channel!
@@BookandHearth I had read it some time ago... I found it very helpful for developing a mindset for success. It had a lot of valuable lessons. Even the message conveyed in the title is very fascinating.
Can anyone explain "whiny tone" and "she's from Washington State, and that makes a lot of sense?" Is that a stereotype about those grim there? :-) or am I missing something?
I've been living in Washington state for the past two years and I've been getting pretty fed up with the external locus of control that's so common here. I hear many people here complaining about life not being fair, so that's the joke
@@dantichri5t I'm moving somewhere else soon, so it won't be an issue anymore 😁 but yes, I'm sure there will be something else in my new home that I'll need to learn to just drown out

It's nice to see genuine people like Ana. RUclips and social media seem to reward grifters more than anyone else.

Omg so glad it wasn't just me!!
Its a scam. Even the author works more than 4 hours on his projects
