Apparently justin beiber was seen on a mountainbike in a forest outside of a northern swedish village s couple of years ago, if that counts lol. ** i just vaguely remembered this while falling asleep yesterday but I looked it up and yep in 2017 he was hanging out in the woods around the village Boden in northern Sweden, it was on the news and everything. Apparently it was between gigs in Norway/Sweden. Well the more you know lol
I don't care about living there, I just want the option to visit the world like a day trip. Unlike Selvadorada, it makes sense not to be able to live in Granite Falls, since it's supposed to be like a protected national forest where paying for the rentals helps contribute to the rangers' salaries and keeping the place nice. But I would love the option to just come there in the daytime without planning an overnight stay. Wouldn't it be neat to have a little popup if you're still in Granite Falls when it gets dark that says "The park is closing for daytime visitors. Would you like to return home or rent a lot to stay overnight?" and the "stay overnight" option would bring you to the same menu you use now to plan a vacation there. Totally agree with you about making the lake swimmable. My storyline-headcanon for why it isn't is that the water is too cold, but Sims will autonomously try to swim outdoors in winter elsewhere so that doesn't work as well as I had thought.
@@dbseamz Ooh I’d love it if they’d also make park ranger a career along the same lines as a conservationist from island living. But I do still think it’d be cool if they expanded Granite falls to have a small resort town area where people could live feasibly.

I use the lighting options constantly, I think they're super cute, and the brightest off the grid lighting we have. I also use their boots in CAS 24/7, but then again, I wear boots in real life as much as I possibly can too...
That's how I was with cats and dogs! I just found six saves from 2017 of different siblings and all of them had like 4 pets each. Revisiting that and having to take care of them all was... interesting
I know lilsimsie has expressed in the past that she isn't the biggest fan of the Island Living pack (gameplay wise), but as someone who loves mermaids, I'd love to see her play with it again and maybe talk about ways that she thinks it could be improved. I think, while limited, its got a few cute gameplay features, and Sulani as a world is genuinely really pretty. Especially seeing as how we've gotten the werewolves recently, I wish the Sims team would go back and update their older occult Sims.
I love these types of videos when you solely focus on older packs! These videos remind me of older game features I completely forgot about! I have been stuck in a rut playing the Sims 4 so watching these videos makes me want to go back and play with packs I don’t often use that often :)
I'm not an outdoors person, so it occurred to me to create a guy character for the first time in my life in early 2015 when Outdoor Retreat came out for me, He liked fishing, the outdoors and collecting an had a golden retreiver. . He met the hermit and fell in love with her, so I had to research how to move her to his world and get a new hermit. Meanwhile as he was dating the hermit, he collected and farmed, in rags to riches at home, to go from just having a plot of land to having a small basically furnished cabin with a large farm. When she moved in, they kept farming and built a second story to their one room cabin and also a bathroom. Eventually the oldest son went to college with some of my other characters, including Moana Motunui from Island Living in College and they started dating. After the outdoorsy guy left with his new bride, he only went back a couple of times with the family but they hated it and then I took my 3 witches only to collect bugs for their spells as they didn't not enjoy camping either.
I just remember being terrible at Outdoor Retreat and mixing it up with the campgrounds from The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and being disappointed there was no achievement system for going on vacation. I doubt they'll refresh it but this would be cool if they expanded and refreshed it. It could even be put into the milestones system.
LilSimsie, you weren’t alone! I remember when this came out I was all for it! It was so neat. I still think it’s neat to revisit it with the Seasons EP!
I love the shoes in this pack, I still use them on most of my sims! And I feel like all the shoes make sense in a pack that (at least back then) was our only way to go hiking or exploring. Good footwear is, after all, so important. This is one of the earlier packs that I still use alot of CAS items from.❤
They literally never will. The packs that came out before toddlers don’t have updates with toddler stuff. What’s likely to happen is a couple kits for infant stuff (I would say stuff pack but those are a thing of the past) and hopefully infant stuff with future packs.
I live in the woods, go tent camping a couple times every summer for our big, long vacations, and love mountain lakes over ocean beaches. This game pack is right up my alley. I SO wish they would make this world livable!!! Granite Falls and Glimmerbrook are my absolute faves!
I have had Outdoor Retreat for a while and I never knew that the herbalism skill can be gained there or that there was a hidden world haha, I am definitely going to try this for myself now!
outdoor retreat is such an important integral part of my sims 4 gameplay!!! the herbalism skill felt like we actually had to actively seek out and do which was fun to have my sim do. the fire pit and all the camping stuff is so fun and I use the buy/build stuff in my normal houses so much. the hairs and shoes I use all the time bc theyreally helped flesh out the options we had at the beginning and still hold up now. to me at least lol. it's a must have bc I'm so used to using the stuff a lot.
the feature i use the most from that pack is the cloudgazing/stargazing interaction. builds fun (only a little) and social at the same time without you having to babysit your sim. super useful if i want to quickly level up a relationship
I’ve actually used this pack again a lot recently because I’m doing the Ultimate decades challenge (by Morbid Gamer) and herboralism is a really useful skill for medieval times 👌
This is one of the three I actually have! My sister and I asked for it for Christmas several years ago and have treasured it ever since. Sure, I don't always use the camping features nowadays but goddamn did young me LOVE the way I could make my sim look like some kind of lumberjack 😂 it was my favourite thing
Y'now, I only picked up this game pack last year or so, but honestly? Something about it just feels cozy. Even if it isn't much compared to the rest of the content, something about it just feels nice. ❤
My biggest complaint about Outdoor Retreat and the Herbalism skill is that you can't get the insects anywhere other than in Granite Falls. Like, I can take the plants home and grow them in my garden, but I have to go camping over and over again to get the insects, so that I can actually use the skill. I wish the pack added insect spawners everywhere.
I took my sim and her friends on a camping trip to celebrate after prom (and miss a week of school bc I cba tbh) and it was the worst! Tbf, it was snowing heavily bc it was winter but there was nothing to do and everyone kept leaving the lot for hours of the day, it was very confusing and I ended it after a weekend to take them to Mt Komorebi instead so they could ski
I love outdoor retreat! It’s one of my top packs. I love herbalism and all the outdoor game play. I love collecting plants in game and I love that this pack gave us really cool plants!
I also have a strong connection between food and memories, like whenever my mom makes my favorite soup, I get in the mood to watch Dexter bc I ate it for the first time while watching Dexter
I love outdoor retreat mainly because I love camping lol, but it could use some refresh, specially they should make it possible for the sims to swim there!
I didn’t get The Sims 4 until 2020 and Outdoor Retreat was the second game pack I got (the first was Parenthood). I got both during a sale and I can’t say I’ve gone camping a lot, yet, but I definitely use the CAS a lot. The shoes are used in almost every household I make. I love that braid hairstyle. The clothes is pretty in my style, too. And it’s got some nice furniture. I don’t use all of it, but I definitely think it was worth it.
that scent association thing is so funny bc someone will be burning a bath&body works eucalyptus stress relief candle and i’ll be instantly transported to thinking about the Vampire Diaries cause my mom constantly had that burning when I was bingeing that series
I do like camping, but I bought this pack before learning about taking pictures to cheat friendships. Cloud gazing was a good way to gain friendships kinda quick. I still use the cas stuff quite a bit, and build stuff too.
I was looking forward to this one! I remember when outdoor retreat was announced i was soo excited because it was the first dlc content the sims 4 had!
I know taking selfies together has replaced it, since it is more powerful, but when this first released and for years after, cloud gazing together (which came with outdoor retreat) was the best way to boost relationships ! I don’t do the herbalism skill that often because it’s very grindy but I do have a few sims who maxed it and a saved room with all the herbalism potions and I use those to set up like a crystals and remedies type shop that sells the herbalism potions. Perfect for my sims that need fertility elixirs, or for gearing up before going to the jungle.
ur not alone with ur strange associations…the winter candy apple perfume from bath and body works and lana del rey’s ulta violence album take me straight to the sims 3
I love the world, I just wish they would fix it so we could swim there. I always build summer houses for my sims to visit. I usually add a breakfast restaurant to the world and a spa for my sims to visit.
I use this pack all the time because my Sims are so often outdoorsy. Everyone wears the hiking boots or utility shorts. Kids always take up scouting, so there's always a family camping trip. But I've barely messed with herbalism, weirdly enough.
I have a new lets play idea for you! You should make a family but every next generation is another pack. Like the first gen is Outdoor retreat themed, dressed, lives in the world,... the next gen is the next pack,... the only rules are that you need to include all the pack and that they have to be in corect order. Hope you do it! Love you Kyla
Outdoor retreat is soooo boring. I want more exploration in the world. Finding a hermit is hella boring, but finding big foot would be much cooler. There should be more events that can happen while you’re in the woods to make each camping trip different. Maybe also you could bring home infestations into your home when you get back.
Jungle adventure has my favorite cabinets/counters in the entire game lol I also love some those stone floor tiles that come with it, so it holds a special place in my heart for that reason😅
I've been thinking about buying one of the expansion packs for a while and most people online say Cats & Dogs or Seasons, but since the packs came out a while ago I can't find any videos of people playing with them. I would really like you to do videos on them! 😀
I used to love herbalism because i like witch sims and before magic realm this was what felt closer to it. I would update the world with lakes in which they can swim, one day trip, ranger kind of career with polution and cleaning the park. A real bear that can kill your sim, 3 residential lots to make everyone happy and more cross pack compatibility because god knows the sims 4 need it.
You actually can if you own paranormal and maybe tiny living as they have new residential lots such as tiny home residential and haunted house residential.
I can't say I have any sims memories associated with smells but that makes perfect sense to me in general! This is yet another pack I haven't really given a fair shake, which I think has a lot to do with being a family/legacy player. A lot of this stuff seems more geared towards playing with 1 sim and really "digging in" to get the full experience. Still, you've given me some ideas I might use in the near future!
My first pack in the sims 4 was City living. I remember having sooo much fun with it. Like I can't play like that nowadays and I don't really know why. I'd love to have outdoor retreat since my sims in his midlife crises wanted to go camping so bad (there was no other request than gathering around fire pit, sleep in a tent...) that I had to try it with the tents from snowy escape and the firer pit from get together. But I could feel it wasn't like the real outdoor retreat pack and now your video convinced me !
My vivid sims memory is sitting in the Starbucks parking lot in my car at like 9pm just listening to music trying to download Sims 4 to my laptop because my internet at home was garbage so I had to download it elsewhere 😂 There are a couple songs that always remind me of that moment when I hear them 😄 So I totally get what you mean!
LilSimsie, I don't think it's just nostalgia, I bought Outdoor Retreat in 2022, and I find it charming too. My inner ten year old loves finding a secret world in the brambles and collecting bugs and insects to make concoctions, and I get happy when I see a cardinal or a chipmunk. For family gameplay, having my child Sim terrify her parents and a werewolf with a ghost story is so fun. (Her mom wants to be a werewolf, so we brought Kristopher on the camping trip, it's a whole thing.) The "bears" are so silly but still make me laugh, classic Sims. I also think it works so well with recent packs. Living off the grid without an electric lantern is infuriating. (I bought Eco Lifestyle first and was so mad - they can make hydroponic planters but not a flashlight???) And being able to bring the portable shower on traipses through Jungle Adventure is a game changer (I'm not patient enough to stock up on waterfall in a bottle hah.) And now that I can bring adorable sleeping bags (from Growing Together) into the mix, a family camping trip including a toddler is even cuter.
I love the amount of furniture we can carry in our bags from this pack. Imagine popping out a shower from your backpack and then shower in the middle of a city center.😂
For 8 years, there has never been a feeling of satisfaction with playing any sims 4 pack. If you want to plays Sims 4, do not buy ANY pack, just get mods.
I have that same association thing but with the cowboy island in poptropica. My dad made me black bean soup for lunch and i was playing and eating. Now i can only think of poptropica cowboys when eating it. Which is kind of a fitting association actually
Imagine finding celebs irl just randomly in the woods. Like you’re knee deep in beetles and bam there’s Keanu Reeves.
Apparently justin beiber was seen on a mountainbike in a forest outside of a northern swedish village s couple of years ago, if that counts lol.

I feel like they should do a refresh of this pack
I don't have that pack, but it really gives finland and camping vibes
LilSimsie, you weren’t alone! I remember when this came out I was all for it! It was so neat. I still think it’s neat to revisit it with the Seasons EP!
I love the shoes in this pack, I still use them on most of my sims! And I feel like all the shoes make sense in a pack that (at least back then) was our only way to go hiking or exploring. Good footwear is, after all, so important. This is one of the earlier packs that I still use alot of CAS items from.❤
We need more stuff for infants. I hope there is a patch that gives infants clothes, cas, and build/buy for all the packs that have already come out.
They literally never will. The packs that came out before toddlers don’t have updates with toddler stuff. What’s likely to happen is a couple kits for infant stuff (I would say stuff pack but those are a thing of the past) and hopefully infant stuff with future packs.
They have a little campers pack for kids
I live in the woods, go tent camping a couple times every summer for our big, long vacations, and love mountain lakes over ocean beaches. This game pack is right up my alley. I SO wish they would make this world livable!!! Granite Falls and Glimmerbrook are my absolute faves!
I love how simsie made the soothing skin balm and didn't use it on her arm 😅😢
I have had Outdoor Retreat for a while and I never knew that the herbalism skill can be gained there or that there was a hidden world haha, I am definitely going to try this for myself now!
Ngl, my favorite part of this pack is the bear fursuit. It’s so goofy looking 💀
I absolutely love the roaming bears, but dang, I wish we could disable the childhood phase of wanting to wear a bear suit 24/7
@@Kristenhas3cats If you're on pc, there is a mod that changes it to the princess and pirate costume.
@@notnormalyet that would be way better!
@@notnormalyet ooo whats the mod called
outdoor retreat is such an important integral part of my sims 4 gameplay!!!
the herbalism skill felt like we actually had to actively seek out and do which was fun to have my sim do.
the fire pit and all the camping stuff is so fun and I use the buy/build stuff in my normal houses so much. the hairs and shoes I use all the time bc theyreally helped flesh out the options we had at the beginning and still hold up now.
to me at least lol. it's a must have bc I'm so used to using the stuff a lot.
1:11 Also, let's not forget base game has a lot more hairs now too. They've added some hairs from packs to base game.
I love outdoor retreat. I love the camping option vs. rental cabin
I love collecting bugs, I wish you could do it in all the worlds
"And I can link that down below for you"
Says Kayak.
That's it, she just says it most of the time. I don't fall for it anymore.
😂
😅
the feature i use the most from that pack is the cloudgazing/stargazing interaction. builds fun (only a little) and social at the same time without you having to babysit your sim. super useful if i want to quickly level up a relationship
I adore this pack and so glad to see it played!
I love that simsie is playing these older packs ❤️ 10/10 content lovin it
The fact that I’ve been playing this game for 7 years and didn’t even knew there was a hidden world with this pack.. I am embarrassed now 😭
I also have a strong connection between food and memories, like whenever my mom makes my favorite soup, I get in the mood to watch Dexter bc I ate it for the first time while watching Dexter
You should revisit old game packs!
She did Jungle Adventure recently. I think she’s playing through some older ones.
I just love this game pack for the cozy factor!
If they ever refreshed this pack I would love them to add an archery skill which both adults and children can do.
I officially did it. I caved. I bought my first ever Sims pack since I bought the Base Game - Growing Together.
I love outdoor retreat mainly because I love camping lol, but it could use some refresh, specially they should make it possible for the sims to swim there!
Yesssss
I didn’t get The Sims 4 until 2020 and Outdoor Retreat was the second game pack I got (the first was Parenthood). I got both during a sale and I can’t say I’ve gone camping a lot, yet, but I definitely use the CAS a lot. The shoes are used in almost every household I make. I love that braid hairstyle. The clothes is pretty in my style, too. And it’s got some nice furniture. I don’t use all of it, but I definitely think it was worth it.
Outdoor retreat is one of my favorite packs both cas and build wise! I love the style of everything and the gameplay is so cozy!
I think this pack would be sooo much better if it got a refresh like Spa Day did!
that scent association thing is so funny bc someone will be burning a bath&body works eucalyptus stress relief candle and i’ll be instantly transported to thinking about the Vampire Diaries cause my mom constantly had that burning when I was bingeing that series
I wish they would refresh this pack.
I do like camping, but I bought this pack before learning about taking pictures to cheat friendships. Cloud gazing was a good way to gain friendships kinda quick.
I still use the cas stuff quite a bit, and build stuff too.
I feel like such an easy change would be to make granite falls/all the vacation worlds accessible to live in...
I was looking forward to this one! I remember when outdoor retreat was announced i was soo excited because it was the first dlc content the sims 4 had!
outdoor retreat really seems liek a cool pack, if only they would do a refresh
I love outdoor retreat! I started playing the Sims 4 a few years ago and it was the first pack I bought after Seasons.
That’s what I’m doing
Outdoor retreat is soooo boring. I want more exploration in the world. Finding a hermit is hella boring, but finding big foot would be much cooler. There should be more events that can happen while you’re in the woods to make each camping trip different. Maybe also you could bring home infestations into your home when you get back.
Video idea:
Revisit vampires!
Idk why but I think it would be fun and chaotic
I need them to upgrade outdoor retreat so we can live there; seeing as we got rentals in the basegame a while back
You actually can if you own paranormal and maybe tiny living as they have new residential lots such as tiny home residential and haunted house residential.
@@dontclick7674 omg I didn’t think of that 😳
I always get like lost because there's so much "off lot" space in Granite Falls😅 I have a similar issue with the Island Living world
i honestly adore outdoor retreat. I really hope it gets a refresh soon. Really wish we could build residential lots in this world too
I can't say I have any sims memories associated with smells but that makes perfect sense to me in general! This is yet another pack I haven't really given a fair shake, which I think has a lot to do with being a family/legacy player. A lot of this stuff seems more geared towards playing with 1 sim and really "digging in" to get the full experience. Still, you've given me some ideas I might use in the near future!
The fact that it came out 8 years ago blows my mind!
Outdoor retreat will always have a place in my heart. I do think it needs a refresh like Spa day had
I have that same association thing but with the cowboy island in poptropica. My dad made me black bean soup for lunch and i was playing and eating. Now i can only think of poptropica cowboys when eating it. Which is kind of a fitting association actually
