Actually it’s because he was the more wealthy one when they got married. He was the one that wanted a prenup, but Jessica didn’t. He didn’t want her to be able to take his money, but he had no problem keeping the money he made, half of the money they made together, and taking a large portion of the money SHE made on her own!! She responded like a freaking BOSS, “give him whatever he wants. I’ll make it back!!! She knew what was up and she did…….”give or take a billion”!!

Once Jessica climbed that success ladder and quickly passed Nick, that was a huge blow to his ego and you could see it in all the years they filmed for the Newlyweds show. Nick always put an invisible divide between the two. Look at how the Newlyweds show filmed their solo albums at the beginning of their marriage. He found fault with how his process went and Jessica's. But one thing, Jessica was always a solo artist which I can assume is much harder as an individual to take all that on. You dont know what happens behind closed doors..no one likes splitting but sometimes it just doesn't work we cant judge peoples relationships based on not really knowing them.
i def think that Jessica regrets divorcing him, she thought she could do better but in the end ended up settling for Eric and now desperately wants us all to believe how happy and in love she is so that people stop feeling sorry for her break up with Nick. Nick was madly in love with her and she blew it. Now he has a family with Vanessa and you can tell that she does not take him for granted like Jessica did, and even though they arent as rich as jessica, their life is enviable and seems pretty perfect while Jessica has her millions but still looks unfufilled in life and it seems like her kids are being raised by nannies and not her....just my personal opinion though, who really knows what goes on behind closed doors?
Nick doesn't smile nowadays the way he used to smile and glow when he was with Jessica. He was not so supportive of Jessica working on her beauty line (back then) but later on, in less than 20 yrs, Jessica Simpson Collection is already owned by Jessica solely!
