    Greetings.
I recently underwent IntraOral scanner for my teeth.
Can Planmeca be used to get the full mouth bite and occlusion information?

      Hi there,
Thank you for your interest in our products.
Yes, our Planmeca Emerald and Planmeca Emeral S intraoral scanners are able to capture a full arch scan and bite. Our Planmeca Romexis software includes a module for intraoral scanning and it also allows combining the scan data with CBCT information.
You can find more information on the scanners here: www.planmeca.com/cadcam/dental-scanning
      Best regards,

Is it possible that a fracture is undetected even with a CBCT scan?
Tried root canal procedure twice with no luck. My CBCT scan showed no fracture in tooth but my pain is not going away. I went to the best doctor in town and even she is unable to manage my pain.
My canals are cleaned so the only possibility is a crack which I ruled out by a CBCT but I need to know that are there any fractures that doesn't show in the CBCT scan?

      Hi there,
There are many factors affecting the quality of a CBCT image, such as the imaging parameters, patient dose, the X-ray unit which was used etc., so it is unfortunately impossible to say in general what can and what cannot be seen in an CBCT image.
      Best regards,

Would have been better in my opinion if you didn’t use the exposure button and instead you used a computer unit or the touch screen. 🙂🙂🙂

Hi there, a lead apron can be used in CBCT imaging, taking care that it is positioned correctly (out of the radiation field) to ensure good image quality.

What is the extent of the radiation field ?

    • @bluewave7120

The patients thyroid has unavoidable radiation scatter exposure due to not being able to use a lead collar because of imagery interference On the cbct, proper fov setting is a very important safety concern
