Viviane (from “Femmes de Légende“ by Mel Bonis)

This beautiful piece by French Late Romantic/Impressionist composer Mel (Melanie) Bonis is fourth in a set of seven character pieces entitled “Femmes de Légende”). Its colorful whimsical flavor and orchestral feel make it a delight to play; it requires a sense of humor and a delicate touch. Listen for the cascading descending triads at the end of each section; they remind me of flutes. Hope you enjoy!
