LOVE the sound of those diesels throttling up!!
“Look at all these foamers”
They didn’t here you say that.
Great video Rowan! Love the vantage points
Nah they didn't but they know I love them like that!
tremendous video. thank you.
I remember watching the southern crescent growing up in Alabama
It was southern railway passenger train
That operated from New York to New Orleans before amtrak took over
Look at ALL the “Swifty” Containers at the front of the Train. Heritage Train picked up Speed. 👍
Another awesome video. Thanks Rowan!
Amazing shots!!! That last one with the Southern Railway bridge was perfect!
Awesome Rowan! You and all your videos inspire me so much! It is why I still railfan. You always NEVER fail to put a smile on my face! Keep doing what you love and enjoy it! Stay safe!
So glad my friend, thanks for your support!!
Railfan Rowan Of course!
Awesome video Rowan! I’ve been wanting to see this heritage unit for awhile now. Great job!
Thanks VRP!!
I love the clarity of your videos
Loved the bridge shot!! Would make a great still!! Always fun to ride along with you on your chase!! Thanks for sharing 😊
Great video Rowan! I caught the Central of Georgia and Savana and Atlanta on the same train last night!
Nice catch Rowan. Keep up the awesome work.
Nice catch Rowan man the Southern railway was my 4 Heritage unit good video

Good catch on the Heritage unit
To catch the Sothern Heritage Unit several times up close & with some great background. Nice work.
Cool video ! Especially under the bridge!

Thanks 👍
Nice catch on the Southern heritage unit!
Definitely one of my favorite of the gevo variant lol
Also congrats on 19K subs!
Great to see some young blood taking up the hobby🇨🇦🎄👍
Sunday morning does not get much better than waking up to a new fantastic educational video from Railfan Rowan. Fun facts, understatement! 😅
Thanks Wayne, good Sunday morning to you sir!
Awesome! I caught ns 154 with the reading hu trailing 2nd as a mid train dpu!
Great catch man!
Surprise Saturday upload 🚂.. Great chase .. Southern heritage going over Southern railway underpass.. great shot of NS going around the curve with Southern waiting on the siding! Have a great weekend bro
Thanks Cameron!! You have a good weekend too!!
Sweet chase, killer loco and nice hat!
Very nice! The scheme, of course, traces its heritage to the old SRR Green, White & Gold passenger scheme that the late W. Graham Claytor made famous. I also recall the black, white and gold scheme; not nearly as classy!
Hey, keep up your good work, but remember the General Notice: "Safety is the first consideration in the performance of your duties. When in doubt the safe course MUST be taken." Don't get out there somewhere and get run over by a corn picker in a cabbage patch beside the Railroad!
Good video brother.
I love trains.. 👍
great video bro
Love it 😊
Nice! Bridge shot. History is Back!
Love those Heritage units...
darn!!! What an awesome shot!!!
Thanks Poe
Great Catch! NS 8099 just so happens to be the first ever heritage unit I've ever seen when i saw it chilling in the yard in Princeton IN. Would also be nice if they would clean it lol.
Nice Dude! 👍
Nice catch Rowan
That was another fun video of you and the other rail fans chasing the Norfolk Southern's Southern Railroad Heritage unit. That last portion of the video with the Southern Heritage unit going over the railroad bridge with "Southern" on the side of the bridge was a great shot. Were all the local rail fans out chasing the Southern Heritage unit? Thank you for sharing this video with us!
nice video & nice catch
Awesome video buddy!!
Thanks SJRP!!
Less goooo Rowen I’m glad you got that
Who else just loves watching the trains go by
I love the southern paint scheme. I remember when they were all painted like this.except they were hi hoods
Some nice footage there Rowan. That bridge looks as if it's been hit by a few trucks with the chunks of concrete that are missing.
Still loving this heritage unit content (and the non-heritage), I caught 8099 twice before, leading the first time and caught it again with it trailing behind 8103. I sure do hope to go out again soon, I haven't been out in a good while. Also if you wouldn't mind maybe taking a look at those videos, it'd make my day. Keep up the good work!
hey I remember you...
Nice catch.
As usual, another great video Rowan!
I have to compliment you on your camera skills, superb! ...and, you must be using a top notch camera.
The quality, detail and color of your shots are fantastic.
..and, just one quick question:
In your pursuit and filming of trains, have you ever seen any of these guys that take a 'ride' in one of the carriages?
Seen some YT videos with them and they never seem to get to any trouble jumping on and off!
If I was much younger I would be tempted to do it myself! Thanks for the videos you treat us with son!
I love the southern heritage unit , glad to see NS and CSX show some pride in their history.
That WAS A COOL SHOT
Super Duper! Excellent!
Thanks Jeff
Hey,Rowan, you are awesome, and getting better all the time! Ref; those Penn Central, and Southern shots,I remember when the PRR,was running the Southern trains out of Penn Station (NY),and you could catch them on Linden,(NJ),platforms, and they had GG-1s ,on the head end! And to add to the madness, the late, lamented Penn Central, with the 13D paint scheme, was a time of darkness, now thankfully gone! At least the NS has a sense of history,as did the Southern before it,as they maintained steam, well after everyone wrote it off! That made up for all sorts of things,in the 80's,and 90's,so memories help a lot! Sorry for my verbosity, but there's a lot of areas that you guys, only get second hand, and I was there,so I know from on the ground knowledge! Thanks for a very well video, and keep at it,you are not alone ❤!
Nice catch by the Southern RR bridge . Hope someone got a good photo of that .
Nice!
Nice I Saw NS ES44AC #8099 At Horseshoe Curve In August Of 2019. It Was Leading A Westbound Stack Train With NS AC44C6M #4156.
Nice Catch.
Ein sehr gutes Video toll gemacht weiterhin good Lucky Train 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚂🚂🚂📽📽📽📽📽📽 super
8099 is painted up like the old SR 6133 on display at the NC Transportation Museum. I have always loved this paint scheme. When they operate trains at the museum they usually use the 6133 to pull the train cars for rides. Great work on the video as always!
ruclips.net/video/ahxLg7D5kWo/видео.html
A good look at the 6133
That's awesome thanks for the infon
Nice catch man.
Thanks boi
Nice catch of the southern rowan
Preciate you
Very cool shots and great to see the heritage units. In my area we have a number of 1930's vintage rail bridges like the Southern one except ours are the old Grand Trunk Western. In this area, we call them viaducts. LOL. Not sure why a bridge can't be a bridge. 😂
Depends on the architecture I think, determines the name of structure
Love the Chug of those GE's
Lol nice hat and nice catch dude. God Bless.
Thank you!! Your the first one to like my hat, everyone else hates it
@@RailfanRowan cool then
Great shot of the loco going over the SR bridge. Hope you got a still shot!!
Nah, but some friends did
Great chase again, Rowan. Good variety of scenes, especially over the Southern bridge. Q: I wonder what the drawbar load is when those three DPUs start out of the siding? A: Immense.
I'm sure, thanks Martin!
Great video! Keep up the good work! By the way, what kind of camera do you use?
nice one
Great video, that was super cool view going over the bridge! I hope you snuck in your McDonald's fries, which are so yummy, but good ole' deep fried Wisconsin cheese curds are so delicious!👍😆🧀
Oh never had those before, no I was unable to get my fries
That so cool I really enjoy your Johnstown podcast Happy Railing may Jesus Christ cover with his might arms an keep you safe in your adventures
This has to be one of my favorite NS HUs love the green! Woulda looked better on an emd though.
2nd only to Distant Signal channel. That's a compliment. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I appreciate the award George!
Rowan, one of the things that makes your videos so nice is your ability to choose locations and line up your shots. This is a trait that is very much like my son Darryl uses for his train photography. If you have a chance, go to Flickr and check out Darryl Rule
Great video Rowan! Do you have like a tracker or do people tell you when heritage units are near you or close by?
Now I’m foaming, I love the Southern heritage unit. I model the SRR and I have over 100 southern units on my layout, even that ugly hat looks good on you Rowan 😂 JK
What the heck why is everyone hating my hat, I love it!
Railfan Rowan JK = just kidding
nice
What a coincidence i have a ns model train running right now!
I like that heritage engine
Nice I want the southern ho heritage unit it’s a dash 9
Man this was 2 years ago time goes by fast
Rowan, here in Indiana, what you refer to in Virginia as a railroad bridge over a highway, we referrer to it as an elevated railroad overpass.
Ah good to know
Another Heritage Unit wow you're lucky
Not lucky, blessed! TGBTG
Great video rowen! Your videos have actually inspired me on being a railfan. I was wondering how does all of this railfanning work? Is railfanning more of a waiting game? Or is there some way you can find out when a train will be at a certain location and the time of it arriving at that location? I'm brand new to new so all help is appreciated! Thanks!
Thanks for your comment, it is way too much to explain here in one.comment, PLEASE STICK AROUND!!! I PLAN TO MAKE MORE VIDEOS TALKING ABOUT THIS IN THE FUTURE!!
@@RailfanRowan Will do!
Hey Rowan I have a rare Norfolk southern railroad spike that has a rare mark on top that says HC US
WOW
HAHA! You need a McDonalds sponsor! (Free fries if you give them props in your video ;o)
So that fun fact was really fun The southern bridge was built In 1936 that’s fun
Is now back into service as of may 5th
So excited!
The level of foam in this is the same level as when a patched SP AC4400CW led a train on the CP recently
Cool but in December on Saturday it was coming east so tried to catch see for second time. My mom did not get a video because on the phone with my dad but this was a year ago but. Now it make me sad but it will come back some day.
Hopefully one day!
Same
New railfan. Do the routes of the train on a certain route have the same number (ex. Q245)?
Generally yes
Man you see a ton of heritage units 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 also how many times have you seen 1066
A lot
Lol many times 😂
Railfan Rowan lol
Appreciate you and your content! Question! ARE ALL THE ENGINES RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME ? I KNOW IT SOUNDS FUNNY TO ASK THIS BUT - I THOUGHT SOME COULD BE RIDING ALONE FOR THE RIDE UNTIL NEEDED TO SAVE FUEL. Thank you 😊
Depends on the road but they can run as many as needed, they do have to ask for permission from dispatch to power up other units, fuel consumption
Railfan Rowan Oh ok- Thanks 😊
I’m new to railfanning. It’s something me and my kids have started doing. How find all the information about the train? Number? Where it’s from? How did you know it was coming thru? And such
You want to start with a simple Google search, search your town name and the railroad that you see the most
.. you may see several railroads and that's okay do a few Google searches and see if you can figure out which subdivisions are which... Been from there look for a Facebook page that talks about that railroad and that subdivision
I caught 8099 today
What software do you use to make your videos?
Hey rowan I was in the film
Where at
