We call it the Honda Fit here in the states but I love mine, I've had it for almost 7 years now and have had to have very little maintenance done on it aside from normal wear and tear stuff. I plan on driving it until it dies lol
I have the Honda jazz 2009 1.4 semi auto and on the motorway it has really good gas mileage I get around 59 to 60 mpg and it don’t feel under powered as the 1.3 litre if you get the car go for the 1.4 litre rather than the 1.3.
I won't go for a turbo engine, it's not long lasting. Just google how many issues cars has with turbo's. I prefer natural aspirated engine. Car of this size, i don't think someone will be rallying in there. If someone has more money to burn, and more time to spend in the workshops, go buy Germans cars..
Please, my 23 years old Subaru is Turbo and has no issues of any kind, turbo related and rust related, so please.... it depends how you built the car in the first place. Most Honda cars are N/A because they have VTEC instead.
I quite like this new Jazz. It's an honest, small car like the previous generations, and like the previous generations, it's very practical and bigger on the inside, like a TARDIS or a stripper.
The Jazz is looking a lot better than a Citroen Cactus that's for sure. I don't really get the many complaints about the Jazz its looks. It's not exactly handsome, but name me a b-segment hatchback that is? Performance? It's better then most say, but I understand where it comes from. Well the typical 2nd to 3th gear shift is a disapointment, even if you shift as late as 3500 rpm (at driving schools they tell you to shift around 2000 tot 2500rpm), there is a very noiticible lack of torque when you continue the acceleration from gear nr 3. My advise, if you need performance, wait with the 2 to 3 shift till you are at 4500 rpm. The Jazz likes to rev, if you like the 1.8 ivtec from the 2007 Civic, you like how the 1.3 works!
I have the 2016 jazz auto not slow by no means it is brilliant great to drive roomey, very well equipped so i dont know what he is on about slow not by no means, you dont have to thrash it the rev limiter was on in this video
Yes, extraordinary rear seat passenger room. Decent car but the crease on the side is stupid. The gas tank hump intrudes into front seat leg room. Has more cargo volume inside with the rear seats folded down than other cars of its external size and the hatch is a bit bigger, but a lot of that internal room is due to the HEIGHT of the cargo space. The same volume with increased width and length and less height would have made the cargo space more useful. In the US, we get a 1.5 liter engine - no choices - that revs up REAL nicely, quickly and smoothly, but we don't get parking sensors. The car is easy to merge onto the freeway - maybe you call it a limited access highway where you are. The CVT has better acceleration than the 6-speed manual. It takes only 8.8 sec to accelerate from 0 to 60 with the CVT. With the throttle to the floor, the engine rapidly winds up to almost redline, and STAYS PUT at that RPM while the CVT does all the work of bringing the car up to speed. Yes it is a bit noisy at 6800 rpm, but it's only for a few seconds. I really enjoy it when, merging onto the freeway, I see vehicles pulling away from the merge lane, or slowing down to give me space, to let me in ahead of them - completely unnecessarily - probably because they are incorrectly assuming I won't be able to accelerate fast enough to fit in without them doing this. In India, and some other places, you can get climate control but not in the US. Weird. I like climate control. There you have a choice of 3 engines! 1.3 liter petrol, 1.5 liter gasoline (gasoline is sort of like petrol), and a diesel. The front windshield is at a very steep angle. Great for limiting wind resistance but the bad side is that in hot weather, interior heating from sunlight is quite a lot. Makes it hard for the AC to keep up. As soon as the sun goes behind a cloud, the interior feels cooler, even though the outside temperature has not changed. The horizontal dash section gets painfully hot. Open one door, for just 2 seconds, and the cabin temperature immediately gets much higher, and then it takes a good few minutes to cool down again. I haven't road-tested similar cars from Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Toyota, Scion, or Ford, but I've been told the Jazz-Fit handles better than all of them, except for the Ford Fiesta - which has much less cargo space.
#1 thing you should know is the vtc actuator grinds when you start it in the cold. Its really embarrassing. Good luck getting the dealer to fix it under warranty.
What I don't understand is there is a 1.3 option with 101bhp and a 1.5 litre engine with 129bhp. My uncle in Singapore has a new Honda Jazz and it has a 1.5 litre engine with 129bhp. I wish the UK had that model
My 2015 1.3 Honda Jazz EX just died after only 3 years and 165,000 Miles mainly on the motorway and country lanes so much for most reliable car going, I probably should have bought a diesel Civic
taotoo2 yep, my mum complains her jazz is slow and doesnt drive above 3k rpm! i plugged in an obd scanner and the calculated horsepower she was using was at max 19hp!
Love it, this reviewer is more MightyCarMods than Top Gear. I'm also a fan of the Jazz, and I like to see it reviewed fairly as a simple but excellent supermini.
There are a number of American website that feature Honda Fit camping. It's called the Fit in America, if you hadn't figured that out. There are some really nice designs that make the car into a legitimate, if somewhat small camper.
This is the most ugliest bloody car I have ever seen. I have the gen 2 car and it's far better looking. I thought maybe it would grow on me. But the more I look at it. The more I think Honda need to go back to the drawing board.

Does your car have an automatic transmission? My biggest concern regarding auto transmissions is that they are not as reliable as the manual ones.
this is my 7honda jazz and like all the others it is even better than the older model which i thought could not happen
In Japan you can get the Jazz with the CR-Z ZF2 Engine (1.5L 120HP Petrol + 20HP E-Motor)0-100 in less than 8 seconds...

Oh, wow. Funny, because it's usually true.
The Jazz is looking a lot better than a Citroen Cactus that's for sure. I don't really get the many complaints about the Jazz its looks. It's not exactly handsome, but name me a b-segment hatchback that is?

In Australia Honda sells the the petrol 1.5L which is better than the 1.3L
Weird, I bought my Jazz in late 2015 and they were all 1.5L. Maybe because I'm in Australia there's a difference?
I have the 2016 jazz auto not slow by no means it is brilliant great to drive roomey, very well equipped so i dont know what he is on about slow not by no means, you dont have to thrash it the rev limiter was on in this video
This Geordie bugger is brilliantly funny. Get him on the new top gear.
Honda and Toyota are the best cars.

Lovin your sneakers!
Cette nouvelle Honda Jazz, c'est une très belle voiture solide et agréable à conduire . Honda c'est le plaisir de conduire .
Great review
How about hybrid jazz? Could you compare it to this one please?

+Carlover16 India get a 1.2
In malaysia we get jazz with 1.5 engine and 118hp
aand a diesel!
where is John ??? !!!!!
Really hate the fake lights at the rear on the tailgate.
Samuel Brooks
True... I'm a Honda fan & actually drive a 2012 Jazz atm, but the new shape's ass looks like a Kia Picanto (and who wants to tap THAT ass???)
they are refectors
'Look how much space there is' with the drivers seat all the way forward like that of course there's going to be leg space!
My 2015 1.3 Honda Jazz EX just died after only 3 years and 165,000 Miles mainly on the motorway and country lanes so much for most reliable car going, I probably should have bought a diesel Civic
Another great video. Loving the shoes...
Great review !!!!
since when was the rev limiter at 4000rpm lol
Hondas should have a min rev limit of 4000
taotoo2 yep, my mum complains her jazz is slow and doesnt drive above 3k rpm! i plugged in an obd scanner and the calculated horsepower she was using was at max 19hp!
Michael Flatman Ouch! which engine is that? My 1.5 does ~50hp at 3k (according to an online calculator).
the 1.4, my mum drives too economically! im sure it would get going if you pushed it to the limiter of around 6000. I measured it using an OBD device
Excellent presentation. Thank you.
Can't understand why Honda don't import the 1.5 Diesel into the UK! I'm sure it would sell.
Ron Valente diesel's days are numbered with all the bad pollution stories
Hi there, What about the stop start function? can it be disabled or not. Thank you.
The first Jazz came out in 1981.
Mark, you should be on Top Gear - you are genuinely funny and know your stuff to boot.
Love it, this reviewer is more MightyCarMods than Top Gear.
I'm also a fan of the Jazz, and I like to see it reviewed fairly as a simple but excellent supermini.
I really like that engineIts great if you dont expect to race it
Accidents that's what this car is known for in my country Botswana 😢 .
This people was how Top Gear once was like to see.
Ah Mark always makes me laugh.
The colour looks a bit off in this video.
It does seem that way, but Mark doesn't see the sun very much. He's from the north.
Anyone tried sleeping in one?

In most places this car is 1.5, not 1.3.
honest john my arse
Thanks for that, Jim.
I can't believe nobody has said WHAT ARE THOSE
You never test the rear wiper in any of your reviews! Ha ha ha! :)
I’m saving them all for a rear wiper MEGATEST. 25 minutes of semicircular joy. We’ll finally go viral!
:) Ha ha ha ha! The best has to be the Volvo XC60 with the huge clump of snow on the back window! That was the best!
with humor - I like :)
Very droll review! :-D
lol
the front is really ugly!
rubbish engine
