It just took me 6 months for my ab licence to get accepted this video is a huge help and I'm looking forward to getting into handguns but not looking forward to a long stressful wait
Thanks Cory I am glad that the video helped you out. The wait times are ridiculous and so are some of the reasons that WL are knocking back people for their Pistol licence, in some cases people have already got a AB licence and have Neg 1 security clearance and still they tell them that they are not a fit and proper person to hold a H class licence. It is super unhelpful and is not achieving anything except making them look like fools.
Yes mate that is the go, thanks for pointing that out. I missed it in the video. It is still a good idea to get your AB as soon as you can so you can purchase 22 ammo😉 and you can put a pta in with that licence application for a 22 rifle.
Thank you for watching the video and sharing your research on getting your license. It's great to see that you're taking the time to gather information and prepare yourself for the process. Regarding the time it takes to obtain your license, it's important to note that the duration can vary depending on several factors. While some individuals may be able to complete the process in a shorter timeframe, it's generally recommended to anticipate at least 5 months from the moment you apply for your H class license. This timeframe allows for various stages of the licensing process, including submitting the application, completing any necessary training or education requirements, passing exams, and waiting for administrative processing. Keep in mind that the specific requirements and processing times may differ based on your location and the type of license you're pursuing. Remember, patience and perseverance are key during this journey. Good luck with your license application, and I hope you achieve success in obtaining your H class license!
Apologies for the delayed response. At the time that was for a rifle. 20 weeks for WLB to process you application and another 4 weeks cooling off period for your first PTA. I think it may be a little bit less now. Hope this helps!
First year = membership to a pistol club $300 - 400 - entry level ipsc pistol 9mm = $1000 - 3000 rig set up = $500 reloading gear =$2500 I would suggest buying the reloading as soon as possible. Reloading saves a lot of money over the long run. The other expense would be your licence fee. Hope this helps?
Thank you for sharing this; I was curious about gun laws in other countries. Is it pretty easy to find the gun you'd like in Australia? (selection) How difficult is it to find ammunition there and how are store's inventory re: reloading supplies?
Thanks for comment AC. Australia has limited numbers of firearms for sale and we don't have everything available to us. Such as accu shadow and cz custom. But if you are willing to wait you can get most things. Powder has been the problem here for ages now. As soon as a shop has some it is sold out very quickly. Primers not so much, but we did have a period when it was hard to get them too. Are you having trouble with primers?
I just got my email stating H license us approved filling "Quaity assurance checks' So what are the checks after approved but before I have been sent my licence in the mail.. thanks
G'day David I am not sure of their internal process. But I would say that the quality assurance check will be to check the work of the person who has processed your licence application. What are you looking to getting into once you get your licence?
@@azzatac9763 Just received my H licence in the mail 20th Sept so that was 14mths and that's competing all requirements on time. Yes it make sense that they would have a checking officer. I have been doing service shoots while I was waiting for my licence but most likely get into I.P.S.C. FYI my procedure in QLD in order was AB&H safety course then join a pistol club that allows long rifle, then applied for rife licence then purchase rifle used club pistols and members pistol to complete 6mths membership and shoots, applied for H licence, while waiting purchase hand gun 9mm, still while waiting for H licence lodged permit to acquire.
dude this video is pretty bad...lol.. we all know you are reading and seem really bad at it... just take your time, breathe and speak naturally... you seem nervous and some what out of sorts... rehearse it a million times if needed... this was really hard to listen to man.. just trying to help...

Put your first PTA when you apply for your license, use the reference number from license application for PTA

Great video, answered a lot of what I wanted to know. Is it 24 weeks before I can own a rifle or just for pistol?

I want to get into competition pistol shooting. What would the average cost look like over the first year excluding the firearm?

Informative video, cheers mate
Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it. What do you shoot?
@@azzatac9763 just got my a/b at the moment
Are going to get into pistol shooting?
@@azzatac9763 definitely on the list for when I have more free time
It is a slow process, so there is plenty of time to change your schedule to free up time to allow you to get into it. Good luck mate.
And you pay money and wait, and wait some more and wait again 🤣
Thanks mate. It is a waiting game, there is not much we can do about it, but play the game.
Great job mate
Thanks mate, I appreciate your support!
Great video mate
Thanks mate. What do you shoot?
