- Just a quick video showing how to reload the new Honda Speed Feed trimmer head. The process is largely the same for the Shindaiwa/Echo speed feed as well as others. Leave a comment if you have any questions.
Thank you, spent a lot of time trying to figure this out without instructions...was not lining up arrow with eyelet ....👍💞
Another straightforward piece of useful information. Easy now we know how.
Thanks for the kind words.

Omg I have been pulling it apart and manually winding it around for 2 years. No wonder I thought it was the biggest fail.
That is pretty funny Julian
+Michael Marko This is Honda's new speed-feed head which is a bump-feed type, not an auto-feed. Hope that helps.
Stihl head is not automatic it is also bump feeed
Great time saver, thanks a lot 👍🏼👍🏼😊😊😊
Thank you!
Is that a bump feed or a automatic nylon head such as Stihl Supercut?
Great video thank you!
Thanks for that, I just bought a second head, the last head finally wore out!....the instructions aren't terrible clear so I wondered if there was anything on You Tube and sure enough there was!.....I just needed to be sure to be sure as they say. In fact I had forgotten about pulling on the cutting line as you wound the cord up!...but one question though, once you have wound the cord in and trimmed where do you leave the position of the arrow on the red part, over the entry hole or do you offset it?....the instructions don't mention anything about this but I have a vague idea that once you have feed the cord in and wound up you twist the red part back, say, a quarter of a turn so the arrow is not in align with the cord hole....is this something you do, is it necessary to do?....thanks, Clint - Melbourne, Australia...
Not necessary!
Cheers! That helped a lot
Takes me half an hour just to push the line straight through. It never wants to line up and come out the other side.
Thanks very much
please add link where to buy these thanks
What happens when line snaps off at base when using ~ how do you pull out new lengths..??
The head can be disassembled just like the standard bump feed head and the line can be pulled through. Easy.
How do i disasemble it
@@YZJB how do you disassemble the head. The line has broken off and there is line left inside the head.
Hello, is your Honda UMK425U brush cutter 25cc or 35cc ? Honda speed feed W5 ? Thankyou .
Hello, yes it is 25cc and the W5 head
@@YZJB 👍
I've tried 2 different ones both complete rubish the wire doesn't wind into the correct place on the spool both exactly the same
I spend more time pulling yhem apart to untangle than I do brush cutting
Honda usually gets it right but not with these
your comment is of great help to be cause I was thinking of trying this honda brand after going throug the issues you mentioned with a similar head from kawasaki ! I hand an idea that both were from the same manufacture !😑
On the end why cut line, pull it in more and you save 10 cm of line
Because one end will always be longer than the other, and you have to make both lengths the same. If you pull it in more, one end will be the right length and the other will be too short. Easier to cut both to the same size
@@YZJB that's what the blades on the guard are for 🤦♂️ it'll even itself up
Where can I purchase one
i believe you can buy them either through eBay Amazon or even OutdoorKing.com.au or even at your local Honda Dealer supply store aka mower store
I hate this speed feeder with every part of me, it's so frustrating!!
