I’m like you Mike. I run ethanol free regular in all my equipment. Regular here in Louisiana is $2.30 to $2.50 per gallon.
I followed a guy from Oregon("what would they know about logging?") and he was pretty darn ecstatic after they had what initially was seen as devastating forest fires out that way.
Apparently it helped dry out the wood making it far easier to log, de-bark and turn into board (in addition to many needing the money to rebuild so much was for sale and apparently on sale.)
There's another guy out that way called "the Essential Craftsman" I think who does truly amazing work period on anything having to do with wood and carpentry.
Great channel and fun to watch the progress over I imagine many Years now.
Mike & Melissa - I caught Melissa's grin and nodding of her head when you were showing the new tape measure. Loose translation, "Yup, another new toy for Mike." Made me smile. I love to watch to two of you working together - Love is grand. Blessings to you both, and to your family. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.
Also, thanks to you, I was given the incentive to get my SimpliSafe system up and fully working before I left to come down to Florida away from the cold. It's been working flawlessly for me too, and I can check on things from down here. Thanks for the encouragement you gave in your praise of SimpliSafe.
the way you say cold sounds right to me mike great video both of you have great week end
Good morning Mike and Melissa. Good video Mike. Melissa my wife made your cheese burger soup yesterday. We absolutely loved it. It will be a " regular " now. Have a great day you guys.
Love y'alls videos guys. Mike, you say cold just fine, don't worry about what others think or say. Y'all keep doing what y'all do.
another great video! Enjoy the action, interaction and honesty- family values and hard work!
Glad to hear you get frustrated and throw things too . . . Good to see the sawmill getting worked again.
Melissa has it down to an art. Loved her response when you explained why it wouldn't start. End result, 2 happy peas in a pod.
Hey Mike, Good morning to you and Melissa. Don't let people criticising The way you say cold stop you from saying cold The way that you do. Don't let the critics make you self conscious. That is who you are. By the way our gasoline tax in Connecticut Is 25 cents per gallon At the moment.
Great video mike love to see that you are getting the wood you need
Love that pine! Great material! Here in the south we don't use the local pine much except for barn siding (live edge slab). You ask the other day about our work history. I worked 40 years in the criminal justice field and then retired. Now I work in my hobby of forestry, hence my interest in your channel! You guys have a day! Kenny from Western NC!
When you say cold it sounds Wright. From someone in north east Texas we have our own slang we say water tire instead water tower. But your cold is cold. Who cares what people say be yourself. Being different makes the world go round. I enjoy your videos keep them coming. I watch other videos other places sometimes just to see the differences. Do it your way.
I was about your age Mike when I finally broke down and got rid of all the reading glasses i had all over the house, but still could not find a pair when I needed them. Went and had my eyes tested and got regular glasses. What a difference, give in Mike. They are on all the time. You are not always looking for a pair and you see things you never seen before. LOL. and find life so much easier.
Jim Putnam, he can also get rid of his sunglasses.
I'd change out that old fuse holder with the spade type fuse holder that is water proof and they're sealed better around the wire pulse a snap on waterproof cap. The old type fuse holders for the glass fuses will still draw moisture and corrode the contacts on each end plus put a little dielectric grease on the contacts to prevent corrosion. Just wisdom from my years of being a small engine mechanic. Plus I have to keep my neighbors Grasshopper mower going and it has a Kohler engine to.
Better yet use a circuit breaker type fuse that you can reset when it blows.
@@davidmorse8432 better yet, put a Honda on it. First wear out the engine you have. 😀
This is going to be a busy year for you, Melissa, and family.
Always enjoy watching the sawmill run. With wood prices more than tripled in my area I’m thinking very seriously about getting one. I’ve started to compare prices and features.
Always look forward to your videos. Stay safe.
Very nice setup ! In regards to your previous video , im in s/w Michigan and have been a welder, fabricator and set up for over 30 years. Anything from 1/16 steel to caterpillar equipment !
Great video Mike 🇺🇲 I really enjoyed this video very much 🇺🇲
Sunny and STILL lots of snow on the ground..rrrrrrr,, from Elgin Ontario Canada..
Beautiful wood
Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. Have a productive day.
Mike and Melissa been watching your channel for a long time order my sawmill last Friday I ordered a woodland going to take 11 weeks for it to get here
That video where u shot up the washing machine was the 1st video I saw. Been subscribed ever since lol
Thank you for sharing. Gas in IL is up to $3.29 - $3.60 in Chicago. And only 2 months ago it was under $3. :< Keep up the great videos and best to the family.
Good day Mike gotta enjoy the spring weather that's coming here in western Pennsylvania 😎
Hi Mike, enjoining the videos this afternoon, petrol cost today in the UK is averaging £7.55 or $10.21 at today’s official exchange rate, one of the channels I watch, Harry’s Garage uses ethanol free petrol to store his collection of super cars/collectors cars, last quoted was c. £15/ gallon
Mike, lumber is looking good. It's always a quick fix, when you think something major happened.
That's a nice Witch's brew you got in that tank Mike!
Time to time you asked about us subscribers .ny background is i was a west coast guy now im down south in texas fully disabled with only construction background . I watch all your videos just to find out whats gonna take place next ! Im very prould of your hard work and your acomplishments !
Mike the music utilized on your videos is excellent. Is this your purview or someone else in the family? My sincere compliments to whoever handles the selection.
I got my mom this universal remote for the TV, DVD and VCR. It was 12 inches wide and about 18 inches long with huge buttons. My one niece about 4 at the time said, look you can see the numbers to my mom.
Our gas in Southern IN is up to almost $3 a gallon now, before old wonderful took office and started his crap it was around 2.10 a gallon and everything delivered by truck is going up with it
Always check for fuses first my 4wheeler did the same thing when my neighbor was using it and it took me a while to figure it out but I'm like you I couldn't throw it but I did kick it a few times very carefully so I wouldn't hurt my toes i understand you perfectly and I'm from va
You the man, Motor Mike....
Going to be in the 60s here in Buffalo today
Weren't you given one of their smallest mills to setup and demo last year? Did I miss that or is it coming up later this year? Thanks
I remember a video talking about it but haven't seen it yet
Yes, he did.
Watch every video he made, never saw the little cheaper version, started working on the new building and never mentioned or saw the mill set up, maybe I’ve missed it
@@gerryspang5917 maybe that deal fell through with the vendor. I have seen many people question the mill and where is it and have never seen a reply from Motor Mike about it. Maybe there was one time where he said he did not have time to set it up.
@@todddebockler7786 that would be nothing short of being a miracle....
You talking about getting mad when something doesn't go right reminds me of a lesson my Dad taught me back when I was 8 or 9 & at the time I didn't even know he was teaching me. One day like I said I was 8 or 9 & I was working on my bicycle & whatever I was doing wasn't going right. So I get mad & picked up the bike & was throwing it over the fence. At the same time Dad pulled in the driveway coming home from work. So I really thought I was going to hear it from him about mistreating my bike but he didn't say a thing he just went into the house & didn't say anything about what he saw me do with my bike. Couple days go by & I get tired of walking & I pull the bike out of the weeds & try to fix it. Ended up waiting for him to get home & asked him to help. As we fixed it he asked if I had learned anything about getting mad at something you're working on & I had & with a life time of being a auto
mechanic it's a lesson I have thought of often.
P/S why do yo mess with the little stubs before making the first cut per side of the log?
Mike, I got gas today at Sam's Club in Elyria, Ohio for $2.48 9/10. Most places in Lorain County are around $2.70 a gallon.
Check out hose benders on amazon for your gas cans. Makes it easier to pour
Good morning, nice warm sunshine coming today in Toronto. Eh!
I solved that reading issue, found myself some safety glasses with readers on bottom. they come in shaded glasses too.
Hi Mike, $5.39 per Gal. here on Vancouver Island, and only going higher. Time to start looking at electric I think.
From far Eastern Pennsylvania it sounds like cold to me
Great tape measure, I can see it from here (Ovilla Texas, just south of Dallas). Found your Chanel before thanksgiving 2020, went all the way back to the first video to see the progression. I know you had wanted to stop numbering them at 1000, I see this one doesn’t ave a number...........? Because they were numbered I could see all the history which I enjoyed. Always good stuff, now I can start watching some Off The leash
excellent Listner, You're right about stopping however he is putting the number at the end now. In doing so the number does not show in the sidebar video or reviews. It just takes us, viewers, more time to check things out. bummer
Have you ever looked at reverse board and batten. It looks awesome. I recently sone the reverse B&B and everybody’s loved it. Abd try running a littje Murphy’s oil in your water/washer fluid, when sawing pine. It works great
Mike, when you disengage the blade on the mill it squeaks. You got a bearing going?
nice looking milled lumber!... ya sounds different on speakers... code cold.... thanks 4 video. be kind...
What does the Pine Sol supposed to do when adding to the windshield washer? Does it make the solution have a slicky feeling for the saw blade to ease through the cut?
Anti-bacterial in tank and lines due to outside in sunlight, maybe?
Blade lube plus keeps tree sap from gumming up the blade
Quite an interesting mixture .. now how does it taste? 😃
Good morning Mik have a great day God Bless from Joel in Pilot Knob,Mo
Morning Mike
“... and I figured it out...” If I remember correctly, wasn’t there a lifeline call to Nathan? Nice planks and really appreciate the video after going through withdrawal yesterday! Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
Heh i hear you about big tape measures and big fonts
I love this video, very relatable. Mike I hate greese guns everytime I pick one up its empty, a pain to refill and a mess I have a reputation for throwing them very far
We are getting rain for a few days
Central California Watching
Mike why dont you put a tub to catch sawdust so you have to scoop it up
Hi Mike, love the channel. I am wondering, is the sawmill self propelled on the rails or do you have to physically push and pull it? Nice unit.
A hint that I've collected along the way From oldschool sawyers : a bit of pinesol in the blade water helps .. pAint the ends with oil based paint to stop dry cracking while they're sitting around , drying in 'sticked' piles. The paint trick really helps yield the most board feet.. THE WOODMISER LT40 , is the best...less physical labor is way faster, and it wears o. Your body LESS. 😏
Gas 2.85 in central Florida.
That fuse/holder is a bad spot. I believe when you start working on it I would relocate it. Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸
Here in wash state our gas is at 3.45 a gal
Do cover your mill when not in use Mike?
Where did you get that tape measure.
Mike, can you please identify the MFR and MN of your tape measure? Asking for a friend. Tks.
Mike, I'm sure you have answered this before, but it seems to me that the 2nd thing you should have built AFTER setting up the sawmill-WAS A SHED OVER IT TO KEEP BOTH OF YOU OUT OF THE WEATHER!!!!
What do you'll do with all that sawdust that gets made from cutting the wood.
$2.43 East TN. Up .45 since JoeBama election
I sure wish you’d spell that a different way Lol.
Acessable, it is Opec and big money oil tapping into profits.
@@realairplane261 Don't leave B*den out.
It is up as they are selling the summer blend
Do your red pines have bag worm?
I do alarms systems Cumberland
Hi Mike;
What is your ethanol free gas?
Thanks
Hi Mike, just a silly question, when are we going to see the lovely Melissa operate your new excavator again , because I would very much like to see Melissa do that ?.
Regular unleaded, with ethanol, runs a lot hotter than ethanol free gas. Bad for any air cooled engine. That it will absorb water if in a tank very long isn't your main worry. On the saw mill engine I would run a full synthetic oil: back to it being air cooled and the full syns handle the heat a lot better. Drying out a little over here in NE Texas: might get some dozer seat time this weekend at the farm.
You better buy your romex for the barn, those prices have spiked
I had to pause in Watchung today's post to take a very full load of elderly Amish from the farm where the funeral was to the graveside. I am currently parked in the cemetery with a good view of the burial.
Wow on the gas prices. We're $2.60-something around west central Kentucky right now.
What do you do with all the sawdust from the "Woodmizer"? Thanks!
Is that a Milwaukee tape?
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed!
We pay by the litre here in Canada. currently about $ 1.17 a litre X 4 for US gallons so $4.68 in my area...lots of tax here and Carbon taxes as well.
Does any body know, for sure, what the Pine Sol and Dove is for in the water tank that drips / drizzles the water on the blade? I had thought the water was just for cooling the blade. My guess is it’s for lubricating the blade too, but not sure
Pine Sol and Dawn is to keep sap and rosin from building up on the saw band. The water or windshield washer fluid acts as a vehicle to get the solvents where they need to be plus keeps the blade cool. The Dawn also provides lubrication of the blade as it is passing thru the wood.
It does sound like your saying Code/Cold? Maybe it’s me...!!! Lol
Keep rolling mike
Last week here in Ohio I paid $3.49 per gallon 92 octane non ethanol
No other State compares to the Tax here in NY State. It's just awful and sadly it IS going to get worse. I seen Melissa's video, "Mike is gonna phone a friend" LOL Oh and the "Old Mike, New Mike" lmaooo
Washington state does compare in taxes and getting worse.
$3.09 a gallon is soon to be one of those "remember when" stories real soon... Sad...Green New Deal France $6.715US current as of March 8th
Plus his day job in oil industry.
@@MikeZMonroe exactly what a shame
People get what they vote for!
@@rickysimpson569 sometimes, maybe often, they get what they didn't vote for. Ex. Wilson promised to keep us out of war. His general did more than Wilson to reduce American casualties and keep us out of the fight. Nixon ran twice on the promise to end the Vietnam War with honor in 3 months.
Just love how folks line up to blame the new administration for everything without doing a little research. Biggest reasons for price jump are a bunch of Texas refineries are still down from last month’s ice storm,
others around country down for seasonal maintenance, OPEC decided not to raise production as expected and the futures markets have decided the world economy is getting over COVID so demand is going to go up so they’re bidding up the price. Green deal, which hasn’t happened, got nothing to do with it.
Fatwood is called lighter knot in the south!!
Hey Mike saw a video were neither you or your wife talked only was a big machine knocking down Big Trees was it your vidio or have you been hacked it was your vidio name outside with the Morgan's

Hi it's amazing what you are paying for vehicle fuel at the pumps 3.09 USD over here in Scotland we pay 7.60 USD a gallon like you guys huge tax in that price. Mind you our SUVs do 40 mpg with a 2 litre engine 🇺🇸🏴
It gets code ott in Pennsylvania. 😏
$3.47 a gal 93 octane non ethanol Pensacola
tell me do you stay where your at? eh up here in newbrunswick we got swamp donkeys you got any down there? whats swamp donkeys you ask?
Texas gas ⛽️ price $2.29 avg
Mike I ment levelness of the mill lol . Dam spell check 😠😠😠😠😠
Hey Mike, do you still have that small mill you were going to demo? If you do and don't want it anymore, you can send it to me.;-) Have a great day!!
I wish we could buy ethonal free gas at the gas staition, very limited here in Massachusetts. 20 dollars a gal at Home Depo.
FYI, you can always make your own 89-E0 by adding dyed distilled water to 93-E10. The ratio is 8 oz dyed distilled water to 128 oz (1 gallon) 93-E10. Shake vigorously and allow to settle. Then carefully drain off the bottom ~21 oz; this waste byproduct is a dyed mixture of water+ethanol. The top ~115 oz (0.9 gallon) is clear ethanol free (E0) fuel that is ~89 octane. NOTE: Please remember to dispose of the waste byproduct responsibly.
HI ,Id need a nice clear jug with a spigot on the bottom, that sits in a stand after you shaken it.Thanks for the suggestion..
Living on the PA / WV line, I buy my gas in WV, if I have to make a trip there. Right now there is about 28 cents less a gallon. Sounds good, but just travel to WV in the winter. There roads are atroshious. Snow removal is non existent. People in PA would never tolerate road upkeep like that. Then there is summer time and you have pot holes, which when they fix, they just pile on the filler and then you have pot bumps. So maybe the extra road tax is worth it.
👍👍
The woodyard looks a mesh.
A west coast guy took 15 hours to figure out his mill wouldn't start because of a limit switch on a removed guard...DUH!
