  • Former UFC/Bellator fighter Rory Macdonald in his post fight interview after fighting Jon Fitch at Bellator says it was hard for him to fight or pull the trigger having that new relationship with Jesus Christ. Rory Macdonald fights a couple times after this interview but never looked quite the same.

      Yeah I unfortunately have had my nose splattered across my face too. I got into a fight with an entire party, I think well maybe a couple of drunk people didnt hit me lol but I went numb, seen red kinda and was like that's done and the clinched my jaws and tried to break their noses, but unlike the movies, I didnt Hulk up and whip ass. Instead a clocked with a set of brass Knucks and knocked on my ass bleeding like a cut hog, and thankfully my brother ran down knocked a couple dudes off my back and helped me to my feet. I pulled a CRKT KOMODO GOLD BLADE WITH A SWAT BILL, PROLLY A NEARLY 5" blade, and I cut our way back to his parked truck. In the aftermath I lost my wallet with a few 100 in it, three that 70 buck blade away lol, and at the E.R. I got 19 staples in side of my head(brass knucks leaves a mark) and my nose is still crooked, they claim only way to fix it was to let it heal and rebreak the nose over and over to make straight, cause mine was literal crushed, think I got hit across the bridge with Knucks cause I had odd shaped cuts on my cheek and forehead that resemble the outline of knucks

    Most fighters go through this, not specifically the religion or finding god part, but something changes in you when you start to get older and more experienced in life. Happens earlier for some, and later for others but it is inevitable. Some fighters train their way through it with some success. It's not just a "rage" or "anger" inside, it's more closely related to a "drive" to win or a fear of losing when you are younger. I don't know, it's hard to explain, but I know exactly his feeling.

    • @nostalgicbliss5547
      @nostalgicbliss5547 Год назад +1

      Also you're producing a crazy amount of testosterone when you are in your teens and early to mid 20s. So it makes sense to be more aggressive and always willing to take risks trying to prove yourself as a man.

    • @motovr9979
      @motovr9979 Год назад +4

      @@nostalgicbliss5547 It’s more of a mind set. Some things just become less important as you mature. Testosterone does not contribute to aggression in teens and young males. This myth has been around for a long time but has been proven to not be the case. My testosterone levels on 250mg/week TRT injections for nearly a year are 2-3 times higher than I was in my early 20’s. I am no more aggressive than any one else. In fact, studies have shown that low testosterone levels will make men more aggressive and irritable. Testosterone levels aren’t really a factor at all when it comes to maintaining a fighters mind set.

    • @nostalgicbliss5547
      @nostalgicbliss5547 Год назад

      @@motovr9979 testosterone as a young man def makes you more willing to take risks. Cause you're trying to prove yourself. It's the same for other mammals and primates. TRT you're taking is not naturally produced by your body so you can't compare it to a young man all of a sudden producing loads of testosterone in their mid to late teens into their 20s. That's usually the age when males are trying to establish themselves and earn respect. At your age, your brain is already fully developed and you are more emotionally and mentally mature so it obviously would be counterproductive to become aggressive. I can see low T making men more irritable, less mentally sharp, less sex drive, less motivation, losing strength and muscle mass etc

    As opposed to the Nurmagomedovs who've felt the presence of their God since day 1 and yet they're the most dominant fighter of our time. Why? Because they're not fighting out of anger, they're technical and precise killers.

Then I just loved to fight, especially fight people who picked on anyone. Didn't matter who you were. If you picked on someone and I was there, I would fight you. I started having amature mma fights, which helped get that out of me, so by 16, I was pretty normal, but I had a real rage when competing.
