Yes, the red "hummingbird food" is sugar water with dye .. and the dye can be harmful to them. The reason it is dyed to begin with is hummingbirds are attracted to the color red. But the feeder is red as well.

I was going to let you know the exact same thing, just sugar water, no red food coloring, it's the container they will still be attracted to. Until you have live flowers, then you'll see them on the flowers and the feeder. You should video when you start getting them.❣️👍

You made it all look like fun! Those are the types of toys and games we used to keep in the camper for when it rained and we had to be inside. They were always fun because they could only be played with during inclement weather while camping. Somehow it seemed to make them more fun! And the flower bulbs are so easy, you just pu5 dirt in a pot place the bulb right side pointing up, water as directed and that's it Even black thumbs can make throw! Good luck!

At the dollar tree by my son's house in NJ they have these kind of chap sticks flavors soda ,candy and more. Since the pandemic Swiffer pads are hard to find. The sponge awesome and better than loofah. haha a tabletop FOOTBALL GAME UPGRADE then when we were in school with the paper football and our thumbs for a goal post haha. the poo is like a smashem probably a collectable. Again another great video
It’s been a year since I shopped at the Dollar store, so that was fun to watch! It will be interesting to see if that sponge thing grows flowers - I like the idea. Those bulbs don’t have to be started on a paper towel - hopefully the directions tell you when to plant and when you can expect them to grow.

I have the full ghu sha set with the various shapes I swear by these but I spent several years in China some time back and learned to keep them in a Ziploc bag in the freezer. I am amazed at how well the various ends work I particularly like the spoon like one for eyes. I also use a jade comb on my waist length hair and it keeps the scalp clear leaving hair extremely shiny and smooth

TIP: Those little dartboards are great used as a gift card holder bc they fit in there nicely and the dartboard is a nice little bonus to the gift. I used those for gift cards to Axe Throwing for the guys in my life this past Christmas. Thought it was a great find.

You are so funny! I went to my Dollar Tree yesterday-didn't see anything that you got. I got mainly craft items (paint pens,1" wooden blocks, jute string, double-sided tape, a book on quilting, a cookbook, & food items)
I get a my hummingbird feeders at the Dollar Tree. I put out 6 or 7 feeders. They are great summer porch entertainment. They get territorial. We watched one last summer who would sit back until a hummingbird came and he would swoop in like a jet plane to chase it off. 😊
The eucalyptus and spearmint fuzzies are great when you have a cold or any sort of congestion. They clear your head. I use a few drops of my essential oils in those scents at the end of my shower. It’s wonderful.
@@TheCheapChick I would imagine that the oils are much stronger than the fizzies would be. My showers are like standing in the peppermint store room at the Celestial Seasonings tea factory--so potent that they make mugs saying, “I survived the Peppermint Room.” 😊
The bulbs will come up and bloom at different times during the summer and should come back up every year. I planted several bulbs and seeds and the “rocket” last year. They were hard to thin out and the weeds took over. Most of them did bloom and it was fun figuring out which bloom was what type of flower.
Melissa, thank you! I love the Dollar Store. Just be careful with "cheap" potting soil from anywhere. They often have bug eggs which will hatch and you will end up with so many little insects like fruit flies. I couldn't get rid of them no matter what I did and ended up throwing the pot and everything in it in the trash.
On the bulbs you got... when the flower dies don’t cut it off... as it’s dying the nutrients feed the bulb for the next year. I saw my first hummingbird for this year earlier today... a little male as his chest was bright red.

Bulbs are usually planted in the fall for spring bloomers. You can also boil 1 cup of sugar to 3 cups of water for hummingbirds. You don't need it to be red. The feeder itself will attract.
Hey Melissa, germinate the seeds and plant the bulbs. I have Tygridia plants and they're stunning. You can plant seeds but I find they become stronger when allowed to germinate first. Hope this helps and happy gardening xXx

Yes, get hubby to drill couple holes in the sides at bottom of pots for drainage. A lot of cheap plastic pots for some reason don't have holes. Plants drown! Love the vids Melissa 🙂from Down Under 👍
Hey girl, the flower bulbs you got in the bags do not need to be germinated. If you look at each bulb, you should see a pointed and someone flat end.ske hole in your dirt about as deep as your finger us long, put the bulb pointed side up in and cover back over. Make sure you water the plants in early morning. Do the sun does not burn them. Water on the leaves acts like a magnifier for sun rays. I'm trying the hummingbird thing this year, too. I was told by someone that has been doing it for years that they don't like the red liquid. She says warm up about a cup of water and when its warm dissolve 1 cup of sugar in it. That's what you put in the feeder. Make sure you clean the feeder everytime you put in new liquid. Sorry this us kinda long.😉
Hi Charlotte and Melissa , Planting and caring for peoples flower beds is what I do for a living , and I am a hummingbird lover. Here is a formula that has never failed me 4 parts water to 1 part sugar, nothing else, they love it. Plain ole white sugar melted in hot water (cooled before hanging). Red dye is not good for the birds. The birds are smart they have learned over time what the feeder is for, (if you hang it they will come) lol It may take a week or so for them to find your feeder, but since your neighbor is already feeding them maybe faster. Keep your feeder clean and try to hang it in a shady area so the water stays cooler. Sugar water in the sun can ferment so change at least once a week,. I agree 100% with Charlotte and the plants except don't get too discouraged if the bulbs don't bloom they could be too old coming from the dollar store Just saying . Yes drill holes in the bottom of planters, maybe throw in some gravel in the bottom for drainage. Water everyday . Planters dry out much faster than if you planted in the ground. Good Luck!
My mom had dozens of humming birds every summer for decades here in Canada and she used sugar water made from water caught in a rain barrel and mixed well with white sugar ..about 3:1 water to sugar ratio. She used every type and color of hummingbird feeder (they're all plastic and don't last forever) and the birds liked all of them.
I love hauls. 🤗 Laying in a hospital bed I've been guilty of a lot of online shopping... Lol oh well. Makes me happy. 😂 Those hummingbird feeders are good, they also can attract thirsty bees in the summer so really, it helps all around ( ;

The charcoal soap is amazing the spong after soap gone works well. the roller I have it work well.
I've actually been using the soap on my thighs to hopefully help with cellulite. Lol. We shall see.

I get a my hummingbird feeders at the Dollar Tree. I put out 6 or 7 feeders. They are great summer porch entertainment. They get territorial. We watched one last summer who would sit back until a hummingbird came and he would swoop in like a jet plane to chase it off. 😊
Omg that's crazy. I'm looking forward to hanging it. People said not to use the mix and to make it myself so I'll do that. I hope some come.
You can always out rocks in the bottom of your pots. And dollar tree does sell them .You can also use the glass rocks .

The eucalyptus and spearmint fuzzies are great when you have a cold or any sort of congestion. They clear your head. I use a few drops of my essential oils in those scents at the end of my shower. It’s wonderful.

@@TheCheapChick I would imagine that the oils are much stronger than the fizzies would be. My showers are like standing in the peppermint store room at the Celestial Seasonings tea factory--so potent that they make mugs saying, “I survived the Peppermint Room.” 😊

The bulbs will come up and bloom at different times during the summer and should come back up every year. I planted several bulbs and seeds and the “rocket” last year. They were hard to thin out and the weeds took over. Most of them did bloom and it was fun figuring out which bloom was what type of flower.
I'm so excited. They all are planted. The rocket so far had things popping out. I hope my black thumb has turned green. Lol.

Melissa, thank you! I love the Dollar Store. Just be careful with "cheap" potting soil from anywhere. They often have bug eggs which will hatch and you will end up with so many little insects like fruit flies. I couldn't get rid of them no matter what I did and ended up throwing the pot and everything in it in the trash.

On the bulbs you got... when the flower dies don’t cut it off... as it’s dying the nutrients feed the bulb for the next year. I saw my first hummingbird for this year earlier today... a little male as his chest was bright red.

The frozen state works well when you put them in the warm potting soil. They should germinate faster than if you didn't freeze first. Good luck!

Bulbs are usually planted in the fall for spring bloomers. You can also boil 1 cup of sugar to 3 cups of water for hummingbirds. You don't need it to be red. The feeder itself will attract.

Hey Melissa, germinate the seeds and plant the bulbs. I have Tygridia plants and they're stunning. You can plant seeds but I find they become stronger when allowed to germinate first. Hope this helps and happy gardening xXx

Yes, get hubby to drill couple holes in the sides at bottom of pots for drainage. A lot of cheap plastic pots for some reason don't have holes. Plants drown! Love the vids Melissa 🙂from Down Under 👍

Hey girl, the flower bulbs you got in the bags do not need to be germinated. If you look at each bulb, you should see a pointed and someone flat end.ske hole in your dirt about as deep as your finger us long, put the bulb pointed side up in and cover back over. Make sure you water the plants in early morning. Do the sun does not burn them. Water on the leaves acts like a magnifier for sun rays. I'm trying the hummingbird thing this year, too. I was told by someone that has been doing it for years that they don't like the red liquid. She says warm up about a cup of water and when its warm dissolve 1 cup of sugar in it. That's what you put in the feeder. Make sure you clean the feeder everytime you put in new liquid. Sorry this us kinda long.😉
Hi Charlotte and Melissa , Planting and caring for peoples flower beds is what I do for a living , and I am a hummingbird lover. Here is a formula that has never failed me 4 parts water to 1 part sugar, nothing else, they love it. Plain ole white sugar melted in hot water (cooled before hanging). Red dye is not good for the birds. The birds are smart they have learned over time what the feeder is for, (if you hang it they will come) lol It may take a week or so for them to find your feeder, but since your neighbor is already feeding them maybe faster. Keep your feeder clean and try to hang it in a shady area so the water stays cooler. Sugar water in the sun can ferment so change at least once a week,. I agree 100% with Charlotte and the plants except don't get too discouraged if the bulbs don't bloom they could be too old coming from the dollar store Just saying . Yes drill holes in the bottom of planters, maybe throw in some gravel in the bottom for drainage. Water everyday . Planters dry out much faster than if you planted in the ground. Good Luck!

My mom had dozens of humming birds every summer for decades here in Canada and she used sugar water made from water caught in a rain barrel and mixed well with white sugar ..about 3:1 water to sugar ratio. She used every type and color of hummingbird feeder (they're all plastic and don't last forever) and the birds liked all of them.
Kim here! Those seeds are weeds! LOL! I've bot them for 2 yrs to give them a chance! NoGo! They grow nothing you'd expect.

Oh yeah, it's a lot easier to rack up the cost of your trip than you think. I get my shampoo and conditioner at dollar tree, and I never walk out of there without at least $15 total.
