As an adult with a tongue tie, please consider releasing your child’s tie as soon as possible. Trouble with breastfeeding is just the start of the potential issues, so just because your child isn’t having trouble with that does not mean your child is “in the clear” …speech impediment is the least of the concerns… I had a speech impediment and speech therapy allowed me to overcome it so I haven’t had a speech impediment since about 7 years old… but as I have gotten older, my tongue tie has caused more and more problems. Look into the connection between tongue tie, narrow upper palate, mouth breathing, and sleep apnea. Sleep is the foundation of health, as is the mouth. If there are problems in the mouth, and/or if there are problems with sleep, this will affect health. There is a correlation between tongue ties & adhd - because not getting into those deeper levels of sleep affects the brains ability to focus & do all the brain needs to do. Look into the fascial matrix of the body, the fascial band that the tongue is connected to goes all the way down to the toes. A tongue tie is not just a breastfeeding or speech issue, it affects the whole body. I didn’t have any noticeable pain until I was about 25, then gradually my pain in my face, head, neck, and shoulders got worse and more often to the point where I am now at age 32 with daily facial pain (mostly cheeks / jaw area) and frequent headaches. I’m on my journey to getting released at age 32 because no one diagnosed my tongue tie until I was 29, and it took me doing a lot of my own research to see just how severely my tongue tie was impacting me… So please, consider releasing the tie.. it could help your child soooo much and save them a lot of pain in the future. Thank you for this. I always worried. My son has one. It’s not too bad to where he can’t eat. But it’s making him extra gassy due to the air he sucks in. So I was debating if I should get this done or not.
Thank you for informing everyone about how to know if your baby might have a small defect known as tongue tied, and this can’t be corrected! My mom was informed that my problem with my speech is that my tongue is tied inside of my tongue and cannot be corrected so do not ask me to say drawer or roll my r’s it’s impossible It took me years to learn to say the word spaghetti 🍝 lol 😂😂
@@MovieHats as I stated my tongue 👅 is tie inside of the tongue and cannot be corrected it’s In my family DNA ! 🧬 we have Cleft lips and tongue tie on the outside both defects, can be corrected by surgery, but the babies that have tie tongue they can not be Corrected , this defect is forming as the baby is growing inside the mommy tummy! I hope this answer your question! Please remember not everything can be correct by surgery! As long as a baby is healthy strong, these small deformities we can deal with!
No amount of massage or stretches will get the results that a release will. I know some ppl think the cut isn’t necessary but as a 32 year old with a tongue tie, I am getting mine released but I have to go through palate expansion first… cut the ties when they are babies so the skull forms as it should, save the person pain, time, and money, because fixing this issue later in life cost all those and a lot of it.
What an adorable baby ❤️❤️
aww a gorgeous happy baby right there❤❤
Love all my patients! 🥰

@@SofieBjorkheim love it. Glad there isn’t any issues.
@mommaschiro yeah, I hope he won't get a speech impediment, but that's a few years ahead of us, and it's an easy fix if it happens.

I got this "burned off" at the dentist as a teen. Did not hurt! Just for any worrying moms.

Thank you for sharing! So sweet!
Why not? It’s easy to clip the tongue tie and lots of babies kids and adults have it done.

Are there stretches or exercises to keep it movable?
She just did it in the video. She said where to massage

You do not release the Tongue Tie with surgery?
I had to at age 5 with my son. He breast fwd fine gained weight and thrived but had to have the surgery. Day surgery at 5 recovered fine
Mine has the heart shaped tongue but doesn’t click.
I was tongue tied and when i was a baby they clipped it and all was good.
Thank you! Surgery is not always necessary! Some people clip too early and it leaves damage 😢
It’s important to release the ties as soon as possible
