They had filmed some of this episode with Grandad but didn't finish filming before he died, so they reshot everything with Uncle Albert
While the footage hasn't been released, there have been some stills such as the end scene in the wheelchair

In the shot where Mike is looking up at Del and Albert from the cellar (“I want a word with you Trotter!”) you can see that it is Grandads shoulder standing next to Del and not Alberts, this apparently is the only remnant of what Leonard Pearce had already recorded for this episode prior to his passing.

Its hard to Picture Grandad falling down holes
and that Del and Rodney wouldn't know about it
      doing it before

@@TheReactingMan the completed Leonard Pearce footage was apparently destroyed though I would give anything to even just read the script of what was the original version of this episode just to see how they would have got around that.

Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney Trotter) looks sad outside the courthouse. At 18.08, he is crying. Nicholas Lyndhurst was obviously missing Lennard Pearce (the actor, who played Grandad), as he was more than a fellow actor to him. Nicholas Lyndhurst always felt like Lennard Pearce was a family member to him and he was really upset, when Lennard passed on.

You can tell that both David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst are still grieving badly for their friend Lennard Pearce in this episode. David Jason has stated in several of the autobiographies that he has written, that both him and Nicholas Lyndhurst always missed Lennard Pearce. They both missed Lennard Pearce being on set and working with him. But Buster Merryfield did a wonderful job of portraying Albert Trotter and he became a real icon. Life goes on and the show went on (as the old saying goes).

6:34, That shot is the only surviving piece of footage from the original shoot with Grandad. You’ll notice the coat looks slightly different than what Albert’s wearing.

There's another very popular British comedy show called "The Brittas Empire" which ran for 7 series with 52 episodes.. It about the most irritating boss imaginable.. Very funny..

Pubs in the UK (mainly the old pubs) have cellar trapdoors at the front on the pavement. When the beer barrels are delivered they roll them through the trapdoor down to the cellar.

Another great episode. Uncle Albert is a naughty rascal. He has some great scenes to come for sure and yes he is a lot more active than Grandad....and he has some stories to tell "During The War......" LOL
