I saw santana in concert 2 years ago with my husband we spent 270 for both our seats togethere.. it was one of the best concerts I have ever went too.. Well worth it.. It included these singers here in this video.. Please note the video does no justice.. There is nothing like the live performance.. All I CAN SAY is WOW

I'm aware. The Lonely Heart motif wasn't in Santana's recording on Abraxas in 1970. Nor was it present on the original version, written and recorded by mambo musician Tito Puente in 1963. However, this version was recorded in 2003 for A&E, 20 years after Yes put out 90125. Whether or not it was intentional is beside the point. It is still possible for Santana to have made reference to Owner of a Lonely Heart in this version. And yeah, I know a thing or two about music.

Your right. I'm wrong. I listened to both versions again and that riff is not quite the same on the earlier one. I guess it was sour grapes cause at that time in Yes history I was dissapointed in the direction their music took. I felt that they had gone too poppish so I didn't want to admit that Santana might have used their riff. Still I think it was accidental and not intentional. Or maybe that's just what I'd like to believe. Peace.

I saw santana in concert 2 years ago with my husband we spent 270 for both our seats togethere.. it was one of the best concerts I have ever went too.. Well worth it.. It included these singers here in this video.. Please note the video does no justice.. There is nothing like the live performance.. All I CAN SAY is WOW

I'm aware. The Lonely Heart motif wasn't in Santana's recording on Abraxas in 1970. Nor was it present on the original version, written and recorded by mambo musician Tito Puente in 1963. However, this version was recorded in 2003 for A&E, 20 years after Yes put out 90125. Whether or not it was intentional is beside the point. It is still possible for Santana to have made reference to Owner of a Lonely Heart in this version. And yeah, I know a thing or two about music.

Your right. I'm wrong. I listened to both versions again and that riff is not quite the same on the earlier one. I guess it was sour grapes cause at that time in Yes history I was dissapointed in the direction their music took. I felt that they had gone too poppish so I didn't want to admit that Santana might have used their riff. Still I think it was accidental and not intentional. Or maybe that's just what I'd like to believe. Peace.
